He has such a GREAT voice (one that sounds clear and awesome live and makes you stop what you're doing to listen) and puts on an impressive one man show. Andres possesses quite an affable demeanor. His sets were made extra enjoyable with his good sense of humor and how nicely he interacts with his audience. During the times I saw him, he would always have a song list with him or take off-list requests (worth the tippage). I would often ask to hear some Jason Mraz or Jack Johnson because their songs seemed to fit the sun, the drinks (mimosas, of course), the food and the mood. His talent is diverse though and he can certainly mix it up if need be (bossa nova, classical guitar, salsa, rock and roll, jazz, etc). While Andres puts on a great one man show, his wife accompanied him on occasion for a nice change up (they have their own little duo called Son Dos http://www.myspace.com/sondosband ). Maybe because they were still sorta newlyweds at the time, they came off as such a cute and likable couple. They definitely jibe very well together on stage. Another cool thing about Andres is that he can sing in FIVE languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French. He is originally from Mexico and some of his songs are sung with a little bit of an accent, but it doesn't detract from his performance level. Not for me, at least. Before I left FL I'd wanted to go do a brunch date thing at Mattison's and have my Michigan BF check Andres out for the first time and we were told he wasn't performing there anymore. HUGE disappointment. I just checked his website calendar and happily saw he was still performing locally in Sarasota at Ceviche and The Hub http://www.guitarflorida.com/apps/calendar/ I really can't wait to get back down to Florida to hear Andres live again. Go check him out if you're ever in Sarasota or to see that he can indeed provide some great live and engaging music for any cool, classy adult event you may be planning. Per his card (which I recently came across while organizing some FL stuff and which led me to write this review), he is for hire for things like parties, weddings, serenades and guitar lessons. If you elect to listen on a play or pay basis, in either case, I think you will be quite pleased that you did.

Never recieved a call the day before. I reach out to Life of the Party at 5pm to state my concerns saying they would reach out to him. Got back with me he would call me soon, he had a busy day. Still never recieved a phone call. Reached back out to Life of the Party the morning of to get his number and reached out to him directly. Called and texted with no answer and as the time got closer I kept calling and he started to decline my phone calls. I received my deposit back but this by far the most disappointing booking I have ever done. I ended up having to go to the birthday party and explain why we no longer had a surprise for the birthday girl.

He mixed up the Father daughter and Mother son dance songs. He did nothing to try and get the guests involved in dancing. He only played a few slow danceable songs. At one point of the night I looked over and he had his arms up on the table with his head down in his hands. If you are looking to book someone for your wedding PLEASE don't make the same mistake that I did. You can't go back and redo that special moment. It's not worth the risk!!
