He never consulted us or discussed pros and cons of the medicines and changed them without us knowing the side effects or interactions among them. I had to constantly go and ask him about them. One day he got extremely angry and yelled out "How many times do I have to tell you. Get out of here. I'm not taking care of your wife. Take your wife and go. Get out. Go." I was totally shaken and stunned. I told him he was not the owner. I wanted to talk to his boss, the medical director. He flippantly answered." Go ahead and talk to him. I am not his son." I complained to the Administrator and the medical director later. They both said they were reassign his area, but really didn't since he was at his nursing station whenever he worked,on our floor. They didn't fire him or even admonish him as I could tell. This kind of egregious professional misconduct should not be tolerated anywhere in rehab centers. These employees work there because of patients and rehab centers are open because of patients. There were times when medicines would be delayed, even after asking for them up to an hour. All in all most of the supervisors, nurses, aides, PT staff, admissions staff and receptionists were very nice people. The food is not good and we had to bring it from outside most of the time. I'm giving this place a one star because this nurse practitioner ruined everything for us. We were in the middle of rehabilitation, so didn't want to change Centers. I'm thinking of complaining about him to the New York State education department, National Health Care Associates (owners of Bel-Air, ) and Medicare among others. Anybody considering putting their loved one here , is strongly cautioned about a possible similar horrible experience to ours and should think about it very carefully.

Belair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Cozied up my mom's room with some battery candles, and a pretty plant. I also bought a soft, fluffy throw for her bed.

The definition of libel is a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation…read more The problem is, what I wrote is a truthful recap of what happened to my wife and I, so my statement isn't libelous. Putting aside your lack of legal expertise, what you seem to conveniently forget is that when we handed you the check, we specifically requested that you wait a few days before depositing because my mother in laws funds were in transit. We told you that there were no funds in the account, yet you deposited the check the next day. That was initial indicator that we were concerned. As for working on my mother in law's case for 4-5 days, does that mean that you devoted hours each day advocating for her? If you were doing that, we wouldn't have had an issue. What I do recall is that NOTHING was happening on her case. What I do recall is that you didn't return ANY of our phone calls. What I do recall was that the agency that you worked closely with advised us that the 24/7 care that she desperately needed was very doubtful (a direct contrast to what you said in our meeting). Then, you send an invoice for services performed. When then left you yet another voice mail requesting a detailed description of the services performed (for whatever it is worth, when I bill an client for my work, I have to provide a detailed description of what I did next to my hourly rate). Again, no return call. And yes, you should be proud that you sued an won a judgment in small claims court against a widow with alzheimers and dementia. Maybe the reason we didn't make it to court that day was that we were dealing with other issues regarding her health. The bottom line, Yelp is a forum where people can rate and write their opinions about any business. If your services are that good, please have your "satisfied" clients write in so that other people will see their opinions also. As for us, we used a different firm who was able to get the services we needed for my mother in law in a timely manner. As a matter of fact, they were paid for their services, the check didn't bounce and my mother in law wasn't taken to small claims court. Just a reminder, the services you provide are for people/families in need in during a very difficult time in their lives. To you, it may be just another assignment or case. To the families, there are numerous emotional, financial and health issues involved which they are living with and dealing with during their day to day lives. My review should be a wake up call not to just go through the motions with your clients.

The statement that Paul From P&P Medicaid said to us about her being "next on the list" to get a Medicaid bed was a false claim on his part so that we would pay him almost $8000 to use his company. We are no closer to a Medicaid bed! Don't trust this company!

She started recently attending this program almost 2 months ago after leaving rehab. She attends 5 days a week and will always share stories with me every day of what she's done and what she enjoyed. It brings me great comfort to know that she is in a safe, caring, supportive, & engaging environment when I'm at work. I am always communicating with the staff about her schedule, because of appointments or if something is going on with my mom. All the staff are really pleasant and helpful in so many ways. She is starting to make friends which is great for the social butterfly that she is. I did look at other social model day programs and there is nothing else that came close to a quality that the town of Huntington adult daycare program provides. The hours of operation are also amazing. As many places do not start until at least 9 AM. However, with my work schedule that is not doable so I'm very appreciative that they start at 8 AM and they end by 4pm. I am really happy that she is in such a great environment and gets to do things that she may not be able to do otherwise. I'm looking forward to her celebrating her 90th birthday with her new friends.
