Sometimes 'The Strip' in Olu can be a little overpowering and a quiet venue called for. We found this idyllic oasis, down a quiet side street, perfect. The Secret Garden is exactly described. Comfy area for a pre-dinner drink even though it took a little training for them to understand vodka on ice, vodka on the rocks. However, who drinks vodka without a mixer.......ME. Once over that problem, on returning a few nights later, no problem. The Turks have a wonderful ability of remembering faces, people, orders etc etc.
Meals, in this restaurant are taken under the shade of various plants which make a wonderful foliage ceiling. Food is traditional Turkish cuisine. That makes a nice change from Turkish cuisine moulded to our tastes. Service is very friendly but professional. Wines are reasonably priced and we really loved Turkish wine. Can't get it at home.
For the children, animals run around the floor. Chickens, rabbits, tortoise........a fun place.
So, people, if you want a break, hunt out The Secret Garden and give them our regards. You will not be disappointed. read more
