Graduated on 6/30/16, D-license. Great classes and teachers. The teachers I had were wonderful, while professional also incorporating humor and personal stories to keep you awake and paying attention. They answer all your questions, "There are no dumb questions." The Security Training Group aka Invictus doesn't just train you, they actually have a lot of job listings inside, online, offered resume help, they even let top security companies in class who tell you when you graduate they want you to apply to them, because you were trained by the BEST and you can make a career with them, potentially making a very good living. I've worked security for just over 10 years, but after this I feel very confident and prepared to apply to the major security companies and start making a true career out of it, proudly showing not just my D-license on resumes but from where I earned it. Just got finished with the classroom portion of the Florida Class G license course. The instructor, Scott Steiman, was off-the-charts good. Experienced, knowledgeable, patient, and seems to genuinely care about both the profession and the students. As ex-military, 9-discipline NRA instructor, and licensed Security Officer (from another state - that's why I was taking the course) myself, I bow to his thorough knowledge of the subjects and his ability to convey it in an interesting and informative way. I am giving Scott the five-stars, not necessarily the group, because the technical difficulties we encountered over the 3-days should be embarrassing. If they can't get the tech down, they should allow us to download the materials and get together on ZOOM or something. It's not fair to the instructor nor to the students. read more

I was looking to continue my career in public safety and emergency services and applied to several professional security organizations. I was educated on the State requirements and The Security Training Group was recommended to me. I have attended a great many EMS and Fire Service programs during my career and also instructed many of those same programs. Needless to say I often looked at many career education programs with a somewhat critical eye. Without a doubt this training was a great way to gain that first step in my continuation of career. I was quite surprised when I enrolled in this course. Lot more than I expected. The instructor Tyrique Leith, much more than a Marine Sergeant, but a great trainer. Got me thru this four day course an taught me stuff that I never knew, even when I was with a police dept. in Texas. There are a lot of companies that will teach the Class D course, but I don't think they can compare to Invictus. Besides Sgt. Leith, there is Amy the office Manager who was as friendly as the come. Almost all the instructors at The Security Training Group and Invictus are veterans and are highly experienced and trained in the security industry, classes were relaxed and enlightening and I feel fully confident in the training I received at Invictus and the security training group. I expected class to be very boring the entire time but there were several moments that were humorous and even enjoyable.
