This company is unethical, unprofessional liars. They looked at my property before I ever met them at it, they met me and said they had no problem renting it, and then the next morning when I was expecting documents to look over, they said my property does not meet their "portfolio" with no explanation even after I asked why? Why did you say you could handle renting it, made me drive 3.5 hours to meet you, said when meeting me all was fine, then email me the next morning to say you mysteriously cannot handle it? Aside from this utter lack of professionalism, the person I met was so unprofessional- did not bring any documents to sign in case I did want to enter a contract with them, made many rude comments about having "too many" dishes" (who decides whether 20 or 40 dishes is too many?? They are for different occassions!), and she even asked me why I would have some pictures on my wall and to take them down- it is a picture of a BOAT at a BEACH HOUSE where the THEME is BOATS!! I told her it was decorative. What kind of lunatic management rep insults the owner and asks why they have a boat picture up? Talk about outrageous. Stay away!!!! read more

I just moved out of a house that was managed by The Selby Group in Ormond Beach, FL. Lived in the house 3+ years and didn't really have any issues with them until the very end, when manager Melanie Provencher turned into the most unprofessional, nasty, truly bitch I've ever encountered. Whatever happened to treat others with courtesy and respect?! She could benefit from a refresher course in decorum. 1st, I have never written a bad review in my life! However, I do feel that this warrants a comment! I have rented from Selby for the past several years and have had a great relationship. Of course, there have been no issues either until this year. We traveled to Flagler beach and rented again this year. We were not aware that the road was being worked on right in front of condo and Selby did not tell us until the Wed. before our arrival. No choice but to continue with plans at this point. Construction crew was using the lot right next to condo and beach access was moved about a 1/4 of mile down the beach, view was obstructed as well. I called 4 times and sent an email during the week asking the property manager to call me. Never even responded......a simple apology would have gone a long way! I am very disappointed. Thought my loyalty to them over the past 6 years would mean something...sad but I guess it doesn't. read more

Most recently, after vacating a property my fiance rented through Selby Group - a highly anticipated and very important package was to be delivered. Since a change of address had not yet been placed, I awaited the tracking to indicate the package was 'out for delivery'- and drove almost 2 hours to retrieve the package from the mailbox. Once the package arrived, per the USPS- the package was not placed in the mailbox, but by the front door due to the inability of the mailbox to accommodate the size. At the time of delivery, two Selby Group Employees were present at the home, and accepted the package. When I arrived just minutes later, the package had been stolen by the employees. This was confirmed by the USPS. I contacted management right away, as well as their local office, their orlando office, and through every medium possible- and not once did ever receive a single response. It was almost as if management, and the owners KNEW the package had been stolen- quite bizarre. A refusal to respond in any capacity in such a serious matter, almost certainly implicates guilt! If I was in such a position, I would have immediately made contact with the former resident, and would have done everything humanly possible- to not only reunite the former resident with the items that were stolen - but of foremost criticality- immediately address the fact that I had employees working for my company that were thieves! That would be incredibly unsettling to me, and not a day could go by before I addressed such! Very, Very unprofessional- and we are in the process of prosecuting both employees at this time. People are just amazing sometimes...stay far, far away from this group! read more

Over a period of several months I have been contacting real estate agents in the Palm Coast/Flagler Beach area. Melanie Provencher from the Selby Group was by far been the most professional, amiable person I have dealt with. Her response timing was irreproachable and she showed great attention to detail. attempted contact with melanie cell many times even by email with no return calls, to find as always she was not available and the only manager that can inspect rental home about repairs, the water heater that blew up on the weekend and carpet is soaked also the realtor does not work WEEKENDS then.we did call her office and her cell and left message with no return call till monday morning ,wow to find melanie is the only one that can do that job REALLY ?so we questioned no one there can do this but her, and was told they would contact the broker, so call was returned by her ,debra wingo 5 hours later she said she also was out of town and it was not her job, but would pass on message to her, melanie , about repairs it ,took till monday afternoon to hear from her,she was on vacation.NO ONE ELSE COULD OF HELPED WITH THIS ?
