The b+b is clean and comfortable, the locals are very friendly. Dogs and children are also welcome. They sometimes have live music on at the weekend and every couple of months have a real ale weekend with a fantastic range of ales and the odd good strong cider. I've never seen any problems in this pub. It's a little hidden gem in Turnchapel. Worth finding if your in the area. If you have a complaint the staff bend over backwards to help you and make up for it. Best customer service by far! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would take my family down any time. I am a local and have lived here in the area all my life. You will be hard pushed to get a steak dinner anywhere in the UK, both at this price, and for deliciousness. They have a good choice of ales, I normally opt for Guinness or Bombardier Ale, with my sizzling steak. The landlord John is a no-nonsense, but very friendly chap, and his staff, are extremely friendly also, especially Bev. The Blue Peter pub is the last one on the quay before France. It has a fantastic atmosphere, wonderful food, wonderful people and a whole lot of lovely memories for us. We have been back a few times over the years, and may well do it again next year. Particularly , when the mullet are up on the Gulf Stream!! We arrived at the Inn and were impressed as we love the traditional pub. At the desk we were asked if we had booked as booking was needed. This I remembered on our next visit a few days later. However the front of the house manager, the Landlady I assume, juggled her bookings to find us a table. Lovely cheerful, friendly lady. The menu was a traditional pub grub menu, perfect. Choosing their fish and chips was the best choice I have made. Light batter, white fish and chunky chips. Our next visit was easier, as I have said, we booked. One nice touch is that my name was remembered from our original visit. Small thing but it makes you feel a little special. Service was brilliant, food was delicious. I must mention our server on our second visit, such a friendly young lady who gave that extra touch to our evening. Her name Scarlett (that's two T's LOL), I did remember.

Not that that is a bad thing Enjoyed a pint of tribute, which I think came from a barrel in the back because the only beers on display were sharps beers...that weren't on yet. I was a tad confused. The pub is dog friendly and as I watched a little yapper on a lead repeatedly try and charge a dog 5 times its size, it was easy to see where the inspiration for Scrappy Doo came from!
