Great cask ale selection. Exactly what I was looking for. Try the ales by Roam Brewing.

Good local pub. Nice pint and you don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to.

Shows all the football matches and lots of sporting events so often crowded at these times. Otherwise it's a good pub in a great location.

Exceptionally lovely pub, with a great location on the small roads above the Mayflower steps. The…read morepub looks quite 'goode olde' outside and suits its name somehow. Inside it is a perfect blend of the traditional and the modern and is worth seeking out. Was serving 3 St Austell Beers and a guest called Dartmoor Bitter. I went for a Proper Job and was not at all disappointed. Delicious. (See photo below)

Just follow the signs past the Mayflower Steps and walk up the hill -- you'll find it! The fish and chips platter is massive. I'm not entirely sure how big a cod is but I think I had most of it on my plate. The chips were very good, as were the mushy peas, but there was just no hope of finishing it. I've had the Sunday roast beef as well, with all the usual accompaniments including Yorkshire Pudding. While it's not the best I've had thus far in my time in the UK (that honor belongs to The Cherub in Dartmouth) it was probably #2 on the list. Much like the fish and chips, it was more food than I could come close to eating in one sitting, but really excellent quality. The gravy was very flavorful and worked well with all the veggies on the plate. It's surprising but nice to have table service in an old pub like the Fisherman's Arms and the place has a nice relaxed atmosphere. I think this is a little more expensive than your average Sunday pub roast, but with the service I think it was worth it.
