Stopped in the JCPenny while I waited for a friend. They had some pretty good deals - large blankets, portable blender and intimates all on sale!

There area more restaurant options, like BRU Burger and Stone Creek and stores that I like to shop.

Shiloh Crossing is a fairly well spread-out shopping plaza located in Avon, Indiana right along…read moreRockville Road (US 36). It's not connected, so calling it a mall or shopping center would be inaccurate. It's also much less connected than Hamilton Town Center. However, all of the stores and restaurants fall under Shiloh Crossing. These include Michael's, Total Wine, Ford's Garage, Indiana Members Credit Union (one of the nicer ones), Best Buy, Portillo's, Donato's, Texas Roadhouse, Michael's, and a couple others. There's also a USPS drop-off box. This is definitely one of those corner shopping centers where you can snag an awful lot of things you want to do. About the only thing not here would be some type of grocery option. Unfortunately, they're disconnected enough that you can't really park in one place and visit them all. However, they do really have groupings - Portillo's, IMCU, and Ford's Garage are all easily within walking distance. There's also a small strip building with 3-4 of the options. So, it's all pretty convenient. I also find the turn-in a bit awkward here. You either have to turn off US 36 and go in around the side or you need to head in at the very end of the strip center. If you're going directly to IMCU or Ford's, for example, you can't really do a direct turn-off. This is both a heavy retail area and pretty strong residential area with a large apartment complex right around the corner. Truthfully, I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at any of these stores. I find this to be the friendliest IMCU in Central Indiana and the friendliest Portillo's. While the movie theater here is older, it's good enough and definitely has friendly employees. As I was cleaning out my father's home after his passing, I found myself at this corner a lot either banking, grabbing a meal, or simply decompressing the emotions (No, not at Total Wine. Tempting, though). While this really isn't a destination shopping center (other than having one of only two Ford's Garage locations in Central Indiana), it's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

And of course an adjacent cinema for your viewing pleasure. Stop by Michael's, Total Wine, Best Buy and other stores to keep our economy going. I shopped here just over a month ago and then again yesterday. What I became aware of is that with…read moreso many home decor places in the area, these stores need to keep up with the competition. Not counting online shopping, there are so many home decor shops along US 36 that I can't keep track of them without checking my receipts to see which ones I liked enough to make purchases. On my first visit, I was looking for some seasonal items that would help turn our guest bathroom into something more fitting and welcoming to our guests. That visit was a very positive adventure and I found a number of things that appealed to me and therefore, I spent some dollars. Not a cheap place, so you do have to watch your totals as you shop. But I felt the quality was good, so I wasn't too hesitant to part with my dough! The only negative thing I experienced here is the "one way signs" they have on the floor to encourage social distancing. Unfortunately, who ever placed the "one way" arrows on the flooring wasn't paying attention as there are times you have to ignore the directions or else you get stuck in the back of the store or a corner. The aisles are a little narrow for meeting another customer, so I understand that they want to create a flow, but it felt like I was paying more attention to the floor signs than actually shopping. Nuts! The second visit (just a day ago) I wasn't able to find as much stuff that appealed to me. I was tired of all the holiday decorations I had up, so I was looking for items that would be more like Spring time. I didn't find any "wow" factor in the stuff I was looking at. So, a bit of disappointment. If I had written the review a couple months ago, I would have leaned towards a 5 star, but as the saying goes, you're only as good as the last visit. So, because of the distracting one way signs and the lack of items that had that instant appeal, I will knock a star off for this review. Service folks were helpful which helps with the good rating, but no sale this day. Review #3864

This is what Rocket Fizz does to people. You go in for one thing and the floor to ceiling chaos of it all just starts making decisions for you. The Perry Crossing location is smaller than the downtown Indianapolis store, which I mention only as a logistical note and not a complaint. What they lack in square footage they make up for in density. Every shelf, every wall, every surface is doing active work. Sodas you haven't thought about in years sitting next to sodas you didn't know existed, candy from every corner of the galaxy, toys, novelties, and enough random merchandise to make you question your own shopping discipline. My partner and I have no shopping discipline. We leaned into it. We walked out with Strawberry Crush soda, a Sarsaparilla root beer by Boots Beverages for the purist in me, an IBC Cream soda because some classics belong in every mission, and the item that genuinely stopped me mid aisle: Cholula Chamoy Tropical ring mix gummies. Yes, Cholula. Like the hot sauce. Chamoy flavored gummies in ring form. The kind of product that raises questions and then answers them immediately the moment you try one. The Force works in mysterious ways and apparently so does candy innovation. Rocket Fizz is pure joy in retail form. No pretense, no agenda, just an overwhelming selection of things that make you feel like a kid who just found the right cantina on the right planet at exactly the right time. Five stars without hesitation.
