This is touted as "The UK's first ever 'pop-up' live music venue, The Silver Bullet. This original and unique venue will be a one-stop-shop for music lovers and followers of the edgiest club nights that London has to offer, courtesy of high profile live acts and DJs" let's hope it's not just a pop up. I missed the press night (bloody E-Coli) where the awesome Dekade played, but made it down on Sunday for the Cuban Brothers, who were side-stitchingly AWESOME! Supported by the equally deliciously tongue-in-cheek Bikini Beach band, who, together with a super-fun, super-friendly party crowd made it a total WIN in every respect, They have quiz nights, comedy nights, open mic nights, after shows, and music, music, music, music! (...not forgetting me as a permanent fixture propping up the bar!) Easy to get to, friendly door and bar staff, reasonably priced drinks and a cracking line-up of acts already, this is one place i want to keep going on and on and on (like Ariston). read more
It's a nice bar trying to be a dive bar. Which is fine by me. Cleaner that way. No really it's a good mix of run down looking with nice details. Plus it's right next to the Finsbury Park station, bonus. This is more of a review for the Wednesday open mic night. Small group showed up. Really laid back. They seemed to already know the sound guy in charge of it. Just walked up to him and he took out a paper list in his pocket. Some great people played that night. There were so many up coming music events on posters all over the walls. Would like to see this place when it's pumping. The drink prices are a little steep. The happy hour deal is all night monday thru wednesday 4.50 for a double spirit with mixer. That's a lot right? I don't know. Feeling like a cheapskate at the moment but it was too much. (Random Drink Fact) : 3 pound shots of flavored vodka. They have flavors like Nutella....no I didn't try it. That's more of a bad decision moment at the end of a thursday night show here. So, another time then. read more
Down and dirty pub/club bar that is often used by Arsenal fans after games but also for lots of music fiends every week. It's ok. Nothing special and in a strange location I had always thought as a venue. Literally outside station. Can't make My mind on this place but it would be good to go properly for a music event. read more

I am a fan of this place because I can get blind drunk until 4am and stumble home without having to worry about night buses. It has evolved a bit since it opened and you never quite know what you're going to get when you stop in without checking the schedule. The bartenders are always nice and you can get a loyalty card to knock a few p off of your total. They serve pizza now and it actually looks edible, but I haven't actually had any. For their first anniversary, they served burgers and had a face painter. What's not to love? The biggest drawback of this place is the cover. I have only been there one time when there has not been at least a £4 cover. Sure, sometimes I expect this, but most of the time we're paying for a place to hang out and not for whatever band/DJ is on. I don't think I'm alone in that, either, as most people on a given night seem to be there more to yell over the band then to listen to them. Of course, again, this depends on what's on. You can get Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in the bottle, which brings me endless joy. To be honest, people often seem to be more drunk here than in other bars. Things get weird. In a good way. read more

New music venue which will apparently only be gracing Finsbury park for a couple of months. It was smarter than I thought it would be - which is not to say you need to dress up to go there, but I figured if it's in Finny Park it's bound to be a hole. But The Silver Bullet wouldn't be out of place in a trendier area like Shoreditch (take that how you will). I arrived at the opening night after 11 and it was busy but not too busy to move. Matt Horne was DJing and it was - how you say - "going off". A Lady Gaga/Metallica mash-up was a particular highlight, and the dancefloor (which is a decent size considering the size of the venue) was perma-packed. The clientele ranged from students to hipsters, and I'm fairly sure I've never seen such a high concentration of attractive women in Haringey. So thumbs-up on that score. The listings for the next couple of months are very decent, especially considering entry is either free or dirt cheap. We were joking that The Silver Bullet will only be in the area for a limited time because local undesirables will have ruined it within a couple of months anyway - but however long it's here, it seems like the kind of place we should make the most of. read more

This much loved neighbourhood dive bar has sadly closed. Despite an online petition aimed at the landlord Goodman Restaurants (who wanted an indecent rent increase) The Silver Bullet is no more. In its place you will find a chain restaurant :-( read more
love this place. ive been a few times and i just love what they have going on there. its edgy and cool, relaxed and fun, with pretty, unpretencious people and friendly staff. and great music. decently priced drinks and a super late licence (4am on weekends), means youre in for a good night. its a pub, but for the 20 something alternative type. try the quiz nights on tuesday. hilarious times. read more
Cosy and intimate venue just opposite Finsbury Park. From the outside it looked like a bit of a dive, but actually, inside it was more spacious than we thought and very welcoming. Relaxed, informal and good fun, and with what seemed like regular gigs and events taking place. Would happily return again, and especially as one of the few places where I've been able to get a pint for under a fiver recently! read more

A great place to drink and listen to music. It's a small venue right across from the Finsbury Park tube stop, very convenient. During a recent visit to London, I spent many happy hours one night listening to really excellent local talent. Go. read more

Weird one this. Its a tiny little club right by Finny Park tube. Fills up at the weekends (later on, so 12 or so), but probably only because it has a capacity of about 60 people. The dancefloor is decent, and they have a good, wide ranging mix of DJs most nights. Toilets pretty skanky (well, the gents are) and you have to wade across the dancefloor to get to them which is pretty annoying if its rammed. Worth a trip if you are in the local area and have no other ideas. read more

the Silver Bullet recently became my local gig venue and it's by far the best late night haunt that Finsbury Park has to offer. Have seen some really great bands there (some i'd already heard of, a few I hadn't) and the club nights seem to strike the right balance between cool/interesting and dance-able. Apparently it's no longer a 'pop-up' so I guess it's got a bit of a following now, looking forward to some more fun nights there! read more

I was here last Saturday for the Data Transmission xmas party which turned out to be one of the best nights out I've had in North London this year. There was a real buzz about the place and everyone I saw seemed to be having some serious fun. Beardyman was the main act for the evening and although I was expecting him to be a one-trick wonder he surprised me by getting the whole place rocking for the whole of his set. He was helped though by the venue's monster sound system, as were the DJ's that followed. I like The Silver Bullet because it's not pretentious, it's not expensive and it's in Finsbury Park! I hear it's going to stay open in 2011, which is great as there are no other live music or late night venues that I know in the area. read more

Not normally a fan of writing reviews but i just really wanted to get the word out about the Silver Bullet - a great little place that hasn't been in Finsbury Park for long (it was a bit of a dingy sports pub before) but hoping its here for much longer. Reasons for making the effort to yelp? it's really close to the station, though i'm quite local so i can stroll/stagger back home at the end of the evening. Late licence - quite hard to find a decent place open late where you're not surrounded by idiots. Good drinks selection and most importantly for me some amazing muslcal gems. Couldn't believe I got to see Beardyman close up and personal! Keep the good nights coming! read more

Chose to meet up at the Silver Bullet with some friends as it was really handy for us all to get home as the station is literally just across the road. We went there to catch up over a few drinks but somehow found ourselves being drawn into a wicked night out, one of those unexpected ones! We chatted to the guys behind the bar who told us about some of the gigs they've had at the Silver Bullet, which is pretty impressive given that it hasn't been open very long. Somehow found ourselves dancing to the bands who were playing, and generally shaking off a full on week at work - we weren't alone so there was a real party atmosphere! read more

Ok, have you heard of the Sex Pistols? Saturday night and the vibe of this place is pretty great. A female fronted rock band came on stage at 12am (totally unexpected at this time for me) and played some great music accompanied by the slosh of beer in plastic cups and the stamp of metal/rock inspired fist and foot pumping. If you're a fan of a 'dive bar', they don't get much better than this. The only thing I questioned was if I was cool enough or not to be in there...better get out that leather vest. read more
