I was window shopping and not planning on buying anything, so I took my sweet time going to each and every display case. No one followed me around, but the owner approached only a couple times to ask if I needed anything. It was a perfect balance of welcoming but not being pushy at all. I ended up seeing too many things I liked, which normally never happens. Fell in love with Suzanne Kalan's designs, which made me, a student, a little bitter upon seeing the prices. However, the owner was so friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all asking her to see a couple of pieces up close. She wrote the designer's name on a card for me for future reference when I make the $$$. I ended up getting a pair of earrings I love that were several magnitudes cheaper but kind of similar to the pricier designs. The owner was considerate enough to curate similar styles in multiple price points, and she even told me I could come back and return the earrings if they caused an allergic reaction (so glad they didn't!) since the metal was not sterling silver or gold. I rarely find a jewelry store with pieces I like (dainty minimalist), let alone a truly sweet owner who seems to love what she does. Will definitely come back if I find myself in Saratoga again. I'm not sure I find the "$$$" accurate for this business, since the prices vary so much. There were cute pieces for children here too that were reasonably priced.

However, there are a couple of factors to take into consideration. While it's true that you can find cheaper clothing elsewhere, how good is the material? How much time passes before it breaks, tears, becomes threadbare, or color drained? You can feel the quality of the clothes here, you can see it in the stitching. The patterns, and designs are distinctly unique, also; They have a sales rack in the back :-) That's where I headed and found the most gorgeous pair of pants. My friend also happened to find a gorgeous coat, and since the item was 75% off, I probably got my item cheaper than what it would have cost at a regular store. Service was exceptional. While we had the items we wanted to try on in our arms, an assistant quickly came over and got rooms ready for us. We didn't feel rushed or hurried. It truly was the best boutique we visited during our visit to Saratoga Springs. I highly recommend it.

I dropped off my ring in October to be repaired. The side has some intricate metal work and it had bent and broke from the stone. It was a repair that I, with minimal jewelry experience could have probably fixed had I had the tools. Seeing as I didn't, I brought it here for repair. The older gentleman had recently fallen and gotten injured (this matters to the timeline) when I dropped it off it was obvious. I asked him an estimated turn around time and he said a couple weeks. After not hearing anything for about a month I stopped by the shop. They stated they had been closed for a little bit because his injury had gotten worse. They did not provide an estimate on time for completion of repair. Another 6 weeks passed and I stopped by the shop at the very end of December. Nothing had been done with my ring, in hindsight I wish I would have taken it with me at that point. They said 2 more weeks. After another 4 weeks of not hearing anything I tried stopping by the shop and they were closed during posted business hours. I called and the phone was answered, she said it would be another week. I asked if it was actively being worked on and she said yes they had to send it off for repair by laser. At this point they have had my ring for almost 4 months. I have been polite and patient but I'm pretty fed up. I stop by a week later with that intention of leaving with my ring regardless of where it is in repair. My ring is not in the shop. I express my frustration and that I was told it would be here this week. She says one more week and I make it clear that if it isn't there in a week I'm going to be angry. The following Friday I get a call that my ring is back in the shop but they weren't able to repair it. She leave the shop hours on the phone and asks me to pick it up before the end of the month because they are retiring. I head to that shop that day and get there an hour before they are suppose to close per the message she left with hours and they are already closed. The next day (day I am writing this review) I tried calling the shop to verify they are actually open and the phone has been disconnected. I drive the 30 mins to that shop to get my ring. She gives it back to me and the piece that had been bent had been removed and is not with the ring. I ask if she has it, she says she doesn't and maybe the laser guy they sent it to does and she can call him. She has me sign that I picked up the ring and I ask her if she is going to call him. First she says that her phone isn't working and when I say I have a phone to use, what is his number, she tells me it's Saturday so he wouldn't be there. I took my ring and left because at this point I have zero expectations of them being competent to do anything else. Now I have a ring that will be virtually impossible to have repaired elsewhere without significant more expense to recreate the missing piece. I debated even writing a review since they are closing their shop but all I can say is that I'm glad no one else will ever have the misfortune of having tried to do business there.

I'd been doing some tiling all day and looked like crap and I'm male so I had a fish out of water thing going on when I went in.
