We ordered the John Dory and it ws delectable. The fish was perfectly prepared and the mashed potatoes with mushrooms, sea beans, a.k.a. sea asparagus and lightly toasted seaweed was scrumptious! We also had a side of broccolini with a hazelnut pesto that was very complimentary and a side of salad that was also very tasty and well prepared. WE finished off with a cake for desert that ws the perfect ending to a nice meal. Our compliments to the chef! It would have been 5 stars if the ambiance was a bit more sophisticated but that would not deter us from strongly recommending this restaurant!

The chai was milky but not very flavorful. A cocktail with Pimm's and lemonade with fresh fruit was quite tasty. Our meal for 5 people came to about 150 pounds. For this price, I expect food to be excellent.

From my very first…read morevisit, I was aware of the special nature of the property and its appeal to guests wishing to enjoy its relaxed ambiance (including attractive outdoor sitting area surrounded by all sorts of beautiful flowers and shrubs, the warm, friendly experienced staff, well appointed fine furnishings In the guest rooms and public spaces and a cozy but spacious restaurant with delicious food.) I have now just visited again (July, 2025) It is this recent visit, and the culmination of my previous visits, that I realized above all else, it is the staff, from the front desk personnel, the servers at the restaurant, the bartenders, the house cleaning team and even overnight security that make the Arundell so special. And on this particular visit, one employee in particular (Emma, who often works at reception, went above and beyond to help me out of a significant, unexpected travel bind.  Thank you to Emma and the entire Arundell staff - I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

There are several places to go, from the restaurant itself to the bar area which is very relaxed and has a nice atmosphere, and a lounge area with a roaring fire. A recent lunch there, in lovely sunshine, yielded a spectacular and super tasty prawn and crab tower (see photo) as starter, as well as an very good burger, sea bass, and less convincing scampi as mains. Banana parfait for pud was beautifully done as well. With wine and coffee for three the bill was £96. This may be a better place for either Sunday lunch, or an evening meal, because as you can see the lunch menu was rather 'snacky'.
