My partner and I went for a set meal for 2 which was enough for 4 people to share with extra. We ordered extra fish to BBQ and a couple of side dishes. The portions are huge and great value for money. The hot plate on the middle of your table makes it a very fun and sociable experience. The service is fast and helpful if you are unsure of what each meal is. Can't wait to return with friends to share the experience.

I was honestly surprised when I found an actually good Korean restaurant in Cardiff as Korean food isn't typically one of the more well-known or popular Asian cuisines. However, if you're an adventurous eater or someone who's tried Korean food elsewhere and missing it (like myself), Kimchi is perfect! As I haven't been inside the restaurant, I can't speak much for the atmosphere or the customer service. The only thing notable about the customer service is that the delivery arrived perfectly on time and the driver was very polite and courteous. Aside from that, the main thing I care about the food and it was great! I highly recommend their bento boxes. At just over £11, it's actually a surprisingly decent value for money as the portion sizes are HUGE and extremely filling. Your choice of meat came with Korean dumplings, seaweed soup, kimchi, rice, and lovely Korean pancakes. We'd definitely order from here again or even stop by the actual restaurant if we're the area. A definite surprising find to see GREAT Korean food in Cardiff!

Now that I've finally tried Miller & Carter for my partner's birthday, I finally understand all the hype! This place is FANTASTIC! Yes, it's going to be pricey, but the food is definitely worth it and it's fine for a special occasion such as a birthday of Valentine's Day. Steaks are around £20 - £25 but they do come with plenty of sides so you do actually feel full afterwards. ~ Atmosphere: I'd highly recommend booking before you attend because this place can get very busy. I barely saw any empty tables so yes - I would definitely book ahead to avoid any disappointment. The atmosphere inside is fantastic though; they have an open kitchen with the smell of the steak wafting through, making your mouth water as you're waiting for your meal! The decor is on the higher end, but whether you're dressed up or more casual you won't stick out like a sore thumb either. ~ Customer Service: Great! Our server was really attentive and really knew her steak; she was happy to give any recommendations and answer questions as well. ~ Food: The highlight. We started off with the Sharing Platter (£13.50) that came with smoked BBQ ribs, baked cheddar mushrooms, dusted calamari, smoked chipotle & honey wings, sweet potato fries, and garlic bread. The portions weren't huge, but a good size for a starter since the main meal was the come anyway. I would say this is more like a small tasting platter with a little bit of everything for you to try. The highlight for me were their smoked BBQ ribs (which you can also order as a main!) - so tender and juicy! -- THE STEAK -- All of their steaks are served with parsley butter on top, fries, onion loaf, tomato, and lettuce wedge. They have a list of sauces you can choose from for your lettuce and steak. I opted for the 12 oz ribeye off the bone - (£20.95) with bearnaise sauce that came on the side and blue cheese for my lettuce dressing. I ordered my steak medium and although it came more like medium rare, it was still really delicious, tender, and juicy! I also had a try of their lobster mac and cheese (£4.95) that came as a small side extra. SO GOOD! It was my first time trying lobster mac and cheese though it has been on my foodie hit-list for a while so I don't have anything to compare it too, but it was really tasty here at Miller & Carter. They definitely didn't skimp on the lobster either as you got to have a good lobster chunk with every bite! Their sauce was also really good and there was plenty of it so I ended up dipping my fries into it - perfect! --- I highly recommend Miller & Carter to everyone. Yes, the prices are a bit steep (We ended up paying a little over £60 for 2 people) but for a special occasion it's definitely worth it. The food is great and the portions are huge as well so you're guaranteed to be stuffed by the end of the night. What can I say? The hype is REAL!

Vibes and service were absolutely wonderful though including the price so it was a pretty conflicting experience. Pros First: - I think it's genuinely hard to find another Brazilian Steakhouse buffet with vibes like this anywhere else in the UK or the States. £25 for AYCE is quite a good deal especially with the variety of meats they do have. - Cinnamon Pineapple - I could not stop eating this and definitely the best item of the night as the juice of the pineapple was crystalized within the cinnamon. Hot tip: Use this as "sauce" for the dryer meats like pork and chicken. - Picanha Com Alho - This was the best meat item by far for the night. The fat was perfectly well incorporated into the meat which was extremely juicy and flavorful. - Service was great as our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. Seems like they were very busy though. - Gnocchi with Prosciutto and Asparagus - This was surprisingly delicious and I would actually order this at a restaurant. It was a little greasy though. Cons: - Most of the sides were very mediocre to bad. Steamed broccoli literally means that they just steamed the broccoli. - The rest of the meats also lacked flavor and were a bit tough to chew on at the end. When I asked for sauces to go alongside the meats, the special ones all were an additional charge and so I asked for BBQ sauce and it was exactly that, very American BBQ sauce. Overall, very okay Brazilian steakhouse. As long as you focus on the three items listed above you will not be disappointed but everything else was very okay. Come early as the place does pack up for later lunch.

Nandos has lovely staff and nice atmosphere and lovely food for meat eaters but is sadly dropped off my radar.

Moving onto the food, I decided to order the Chicken Thighs with 2 portions of chips for £10.60, with medium strength. I was dissapointed to hear that my friends Chicken Butterfly was going to take 25 minutes, so as a good friend I kindly voulenteeted to torture him and get my food first. (The things you do when you are hungry!) The chicken was quite nice and good qualify, and it was a nice, juicy piece however this was sadly ruined by how spicy if was, they did coat it with the medium peri-peri coating but it was so much, it tasted like I had ordered extra hot, which ruined the meal abit for me. The portion sizes here were huge, for example my friend's Chicken Butterfly was double what it normally is and nearly got a full loaf of garlix bread, meanwhile I got 4 large Chicken Thighs and more chips than I could count. The staff seemed nice enough but the service was slow, having to wait to be seated despite there being no one waiting and then for a tablw, despite obviously tables being free, although I accept thr fact they were quite busy. Overall this Nando's stores look nice but the huge amounts of everything are just off-putting, making the spices even a lot hotter than what you asked for, while consisering issues with waiting, I sadly feel this branch has only done enough to warrant two stars.

I arrived at my nearby hotel late in the evening and struggled to find anything other than fast food that was still open. I was thrilled to find out they were still open. When I arrived, I was quickly taken to my table. Because I've been to these before, I was able to quickly decide what I wanted. I got a sirloin steak and a Pepsi Max. I'm from the US, so I'm accustomed to all restaurants including free refills of soft drinks. I drink a lot, so I miss that when I travel to other countries. The first time I visited a Harvester, that was actually my primary reason: I saw on their web site that they offered free refills! My meal was prompt (despite there being a couple of larger groups there) and reasonable quality. As I said originally, I went to Harvester because I knew what I could expect and they completely met my expectations. The chips were fresh and crisp and my steak was properly prepared at medium rare. This one is in a great location if you are near Cardiff Castle and I think it would be even better on a nice day, sitting outside watching all the people passing. Unfortunately, I was there late on a rainy night. I would definitely go back again if I was in Cardiff.

I absolutely love harvester it's really good food for really good prices, the one near Ikea is great and there is one in Swansea I go to with my grandparents all the time that has really good service. This one in Cardiff City centre is by far the worst harvester I've been to and worst restaurant in general. It's such a shame because it is a great location for the chain. When I arrived it was quite busy but that was expected as it was a Saturday, I gave my name to the host and she said it would be a 15 minute wait. Me and my friend was having a chat in the waiting area when I noticed it was 30 minutes later and people who arrived after us were being seated, I thought I'd give them a chance as there was only 2 of us and they probably just wanted to to place the larger groups. The last straw was when these two girls came in and were seated straight away. I immediately complained and they said sorry they got confused because there was another person with the same name as me. This was a bit of a lie because my surname is not very common and I didn't understand how they got "confused" when they wrote my name down. They sat us straight away and offered us free drinks. The salad bar was horrendous there wasn't much option and it was very messy. They got our orders wrong because they think they can remember our orders without writing it down. The food was poor quality it felt really rushed as my chips were undercooked and the chicken was really dry and rubbery. In the end they charged us for the drinks and when we said our drinks were free the waiter left for more than 10 mins to go check before coming back and saying the manager said they weren't free. We argued before they finally took the drinks off our bill. Really disgusting service. Even though this was a few years ago the service is still just as bad as my sister went there the other week and said it was the worst dining experience of her life. Never again!

I had previously made a reservation for 5 and didn't forgot my train back to London was for 6:20 so I asked them to push a rush on the food. I got the gentleman's tea which is a different take on afternoon tea with more savory food than sweets. Here's my thoughts on the food: Earl Grey Tea: deliciously delightful until it sits too long in the water so I recommend you taking the tea leaves out after 5-10 min Rated from my favorite to least for the savory items: Mini Welsh lamb burger: Cucumber yogurt is great with lamb, and lamb wasn't too gamey and perfectly seasoned Scotch egg: cooked perfectly where the yolk was still runny and wasn't too salty which is great Smoked salmon: it was ok Slow cooked bbq pulled pork ciabatta: I liked the crispy ciabatta but there was too much bbq sauce drowning the pork Roasted sirloin of Welsh beef: since I was the last seating of the gentleman's tea, it felt like they cooked it and left it out under a lamp for a long time. It was hard and chewy. Miniature prawn cocktail: prawns felt like the above, cooked and sat there for a while. The prawns were very hard to chew so over cooked and very heavily sauced. Sweets were pretty good considering they weren't too sweet which is just how I like it! It was a very busy night so I appreciate that the workers were pretty quick with my food even though I didn't get to order my tea until the food was delivered. I very much appreciate the timeline and rush and this was the approximate timeline of my time at the restaurant: arrived at 4:59, acknowledged and seated at 5:05, food delivered at 5:15, tea delivered at 5:18, food finished at 5:40, check paid at 5:50.

Once seated, the clean cut, contemporary surroundings aren't really in character with how one would imagine a Mexican restaurant, although it is very pleasant. The menu itself is stocked full of 'Mexican' dishes, although typically these consist of the more Westernised meals like fajitas and nachos, rather than genuinely authentic Mexican cuisine. Perfectly edible and tasty, the meals aren't anything to write home about.
