Well, as it is Monday and I have been feeling particularly blue for no other apparent reason except that it is Monday of course, the weekend is over and the day is pretty gloomy, I thought I could do with cheering up. I thought a full breakfast would probably do the trick as I hadn't had my weetabix this morning and I noticed this place on Yelp called Donnelly's café. Being that this is my surname I thought it would be a good idea to go and explore their full breakfast after reading Susie's review.
I have to be honest; if you're quite specific about where you eat then you may not want to come here. It is situated upstairs in the indoor market on the balcony. If you enter from the St Mary St side it is straight upstairs and turn left, or right, depending on which staircase you use of course. The tables are facing in towards the centre of the market and you are actually sat on one of the thoroughfares so there's likely to be shoppers and market-type people walking past you as you tuck in.
I ordered the full breakfast which as Susie quite rightly advised, is £3.30. You get 2 sausages, 1 bacon, 1 egg, 1 hash brown, 1 piece of toast and beans and tomatoes. I asked the friendly faced young lady to hold the tomatoes, vile things they are. They are very warm and welcoming here, I actually found the sound of the market below quite relaxing in a strange kind of way. I've never really spent any length of time in the market whilst sat down so this was actually a new experience, along with Donnelly's breakfast.
My conclusion, surprisingly nice! The breakfast was freshly cooked but arrived really quickly and was cooked to perfection. Very tasty, quick service with a smile, strangely relaxing surroundings and a full belly. Result! read more
