The man was pleasant to speak to and knowledgeable. However, he lied to me about the prices. For starters, he had s $400 price tag on the piece, and immediately told me he would sell it to me for $250. I guess bells should have gone off here. He told me the ash catcher/additional chamber was worth $175. Eventually I found out it is worth no more than $60. The bong itself looks to be worth no more than $100. This makes the cost nearly $100 more than what it should be priced at anywhere else based on the manufacturers Pricing. He also made As an update to you last reply, Johnny. I am in fact also a business owner and pay taxes that contribute to society as well. I don't pretend to know what I don't know. You should also not assume to know what you don't know about me. If you want to go to a place where the people know their stuff, go to The Smoking Shop. The guys working here are incredibly knowledgeable about the products they sell and are mad cool. I was in the market for a vaporizer and did all my research beforehand and narrowed it down to 3 models. When I visited the shop and told the owner I was interested in a vap, he took an active interest in my purchase and we started to discuss my budget, where I plan on using it and other criteria that would allow him to find a model tailored to my needs. I also brought up the 3 models I was considering based off of my research and he showed them to me and also suggested models that were comparable to them but way cheaper. I must have seen 6-7 vaps in that one visit and not once did he push me to buy a thing. I eventually decided on one and he knocked off $20 bucks (I paid with cash) and he also threw in a pretty well made grinder for free. I plan on going there from now. read more

Highly recommended - particularly if you want a higher quality pipe, but don't want to spend a fortune. I came here after going to Shisha international, who impressed me as having a large store with some nice show pieces, but the cheapest bong that I liked there was 400 dollars (I said I'd have to think about that one...). The Smoking Shop on the other hand is less than half the size, but have a surprisingly wide selection, and I was able to get a similar bong to the one I saw at Shisha - for half the price! The staff are friendly and I never felt pressured to buy anything. They even threw in some free wraps and papers! The shop was empty and I got amazing help from the gentleman working there. He was courteous, not pushy and super informative which I was so thankful for! The range of this shop is amazing. Especially for the area. They have everything from top tier name brand bongs, to vape atomizers, to obscure rolling papers. The owner knows his clientele and knows his inventory. If you know what you are looking for, he can definitely steer you in the right direction. They have a decent selection of stuff, but nothing too crazy. I got a pretty cool gold and purple piece, some Cyclone Blunts (they carry the clear and paper ones), and a grinder. The guy that worked there knocked off about $15 off my piece as well as my boyfriends. They carry some vaporizers, crazy smoking pieces, bubblers, bongs, one hitters... With all the smoke shops in the city it is well worth it to stay OUT of this one. Was not willing to do the right thing. Highly recommend any other shop. After years of going there had the door shut in face over a $20 glass pipe with a manufacturer's defect. Tried to work something out the very next day and was told "No, you're out of luck ". The guy who works here is very knowledgeable and helpful. The first time I came in was for rolling papers, rolling machine and a new grinder, he gave me filter paper for free. I asked about the at home vaping systems and was interested in the Da Buddha which surprisingly he had both colors even had the Silver Surfer! I came back a couple of days later to buy Da Buddha and a scientific water bong. This shop is truly great has brands that most smoking shops wouldn't have and he won't try to up sell you things that you don't need. If your a first timer he will def give recommendations and if your on a budget he'll even work within that or give you a nice discount off the sticker pricing. I have shopped this store since it opened. However my most recent experience was so insulting I can no longer recommend this facility. In short, i inquired about a replacement part for a vape. I spoke with Ray. He told me that he had the part in stock. He also said said he normally charged $35 for it but knew it eas being sold on the internet for $30 and would sell it for the same price (available on Amazon for $29 and free shipping with Prime membership). When I arrived the following evening I was greeted by a bald headed middle aged man (obviously not Ray). He found the part after much searching. The price on the package was $49.95. I said, "I was told I would be charged $30". He proceeded to grab it out of my hand, drop it in a box behind the counter amd dismissed me by telling me to "come back tomorrow" and talk to Ray. As a person who runs service organizations and decades ago ran a large bookstore here in NYC, I find it particularly galling to be treated with flippant arrogance and rudeness. Sorry folks, it may have been great years ago but times have changed. Nobody needs to be jerked around with lies and rudeness. You can spend your money someplace where you are treated with if nothing else, a little decency and respect. read more
