I ordered over 500 sqft of Sod. The ordering process was pretty easy and the person who took my order was knowledgeable and friendly. I was happy with the company up until it was time for the delivery. There was no option to pick up the sod on my own at my convenience. Then the delivery was scheduled between 6am and 8am on a Saturday morning which was not ideal for my project to begin with but what can you do? To make matters worse, the sod was delivered just after 4am (nearly 2 hours before the delivery window) which woke up probably half the neighborhood including me. I got up to direct the delivery person where to place the sod and noticed the delivery person had already left and made no attempt to make contact with me before dropping the pallet off on the street (public property). Very disappointing! read more

Not only did Kim answer at 10pm, when I thought I was just going to leave a message, she took my order and made an appointment to meet the next day. I could either pay the credit card fee or pay cash to avoid the card fee. The grass is greener than other ones I've seen. This is the Elite Plus, great quality! read more

I knew very little about laying new sod down but after speaking with Kim i felt better. Kim explained to me about the different types of sod. I wanted sod thats good for my dogs. I had the "pleasure" of calling today to get a quote for our do-it-yourself sod instillation. First off, when I called the gentleman who answered the phone put me on hold before I could even say "hello" or "yes, I don't mind holding". I then proceeded to patiently wait on-hold for 10 minutes before being hung up on!!! When I called back the phone rang a few times before I was sent to voice-mail. Some vendors wouldn't deliver to our address due to the location, but Kim went above and beyond for us for a nominal fee, which we were happy to pay. She also answered all our questions and offered advice on how to best manage the new grass. The sod arrived bright and early on the morning of the scheduled day (earlier the better to prevent dry roots) and by the end of the actual delivery window it was already laid. I have for 3 days been attempting to talk with the SOD Shop to purchase 875 sq. feet of sod. They do not answer their phone. Their recording states they are open (it is Friday mid-day). We called to order 960 sq feet of Mello Rye and the man who I spoke with was kind enough to tell me if I round the order up to a 1,000 sq ft, then I would get the $40 delivery fee waived. I ended up agreeing because it basically made sense to me to get more and pay less. I was told that I would get a call on Friday at 2:30 pm to confirm my order arrival on Saturday, and they called when promised. They also gave us a window of 6:30-8:00 am for delivery, and they showed up exactly at 6:30 am. We love the grass, it is absolutely gorgeous. And for the price, you cannot beat that. I was very thrilled about how courteous the service rep was. All promises were met. I told the guy that if every promise was met, and we were happy with the product, that I would write a good review. The things I liked about The Sod Shop was 1) they only need a few days notice, 2) they were the most reasonably priced, 3) they called the day before delivery to let me know what time to expect them, 4) they gave me a delivery window of 7 am to 9 am and promptly arrived at 7 am, and 5) the sod is beautiful!
