It's also quite diverse with cultures and they have respect for others cultures as well. After I transferred from Intown to my public school, I realized that I was very behind in math. I went into the accelerated program at the public schools and I found the classes much more rigorous and I was able to develop a much better work ethic for college. The people who run this school are awesome. Director Michelle is competent, positive, and flexible - that's a powerful triad. She somehow knows every kid's name and personality. The music teacher Mr. Gus is a talented performer with the patience of Job, and goes far beyond the usual itsy-bitsy-baby songs in his classes. The class teachers are dedicated and effective (a ton of them are former PATH parents). We've taken to calling the 1-yr-old class teachers "the Dream Team" because they're so good with the toddlers. You really get the impression that the people working there are doing so because they just like being there. Honestly, even the parents are a little different than other morning programs we've been to - it's more laidback and friendly, and there is more a sense of community. The whole vibe of the place has none of the competitive Image-Crafting Perfect-Hair Mom-Shaming I figured came standard at all morning programs. PATH has random family nights throughout the year just for families to come and hang out (instead of the usual semiannual high-pressure fundraiser). The only bad parts - their playground areas aren't as nice as those of some other morning programs, although they are good enough and they're slated for improvements. It's a smaller school, so there are fewer dedicated "specials" teachers. However they still fill a slate of Science, Spanish, and Music specials with lots of art and outside time.
