The adjustments did not help. I was even feeling worse at one point and the doctors kept saying "oh yeah it's normal to feel worse at first" - with no real legitimate explanation. I did eventually feel a little better but I don't think it was because of their adjustments. I found the doctors either condescending or creepy. When I asked one of the drs if he recommends any exercises to strengthen my back, maybe something that isn't as intense as what I normally do which is deadlifts, since my back is still recovering, he said "You do deadlifts?" and literally laughed in my face. (I'm a young woman.) That was the last straw. I feel like these people actually do take themselves seriously and believe they're helping. So maybe some clients sense that and believe in them. But they're not really doing anything. Save yourself the trouble, and the money!

Well, I ended up joining, and blah! Total waste of money and time. I would go to the appointment, and they spent literally 5 minutes. They use the tool on a few spots, and that's it. My back pain never improved. I decided to terminate my membership, and they wanted me to do it in person. I'm old enough to know that's a marketing trick. I told them I would not waste another second of my time in that office, and they finally canceled it. Look, if you have a deep pain like I had, this place is not for you. Thankfully, I found a great physiatrist in Wappingers Falls, and voila..my pain is gone without drugs, just actual treatment and therapy.

I have been undergoing nonsurgical treatment for scoliosis for the last four years, where I wear a…read moreflexible brace and do exercises based on the Schroth method. Recently I have added to this regiment manual muscle therapy for my scoliosis from John Potts, LMT for several months. Under John's guidance I have participated in a weekly exercise class and received a chair massage with the purpose of increased strengthening of muscles on the "weaker" side of my body and breaking up scar tissue that has been "binding up" those muscles. The positive effect of John's work on my back, allowing it to move more freely, has been remarkable. John seems very knowledgeable about how the various parts of the body are meant to work, and very encouraging as I attempt to follow his exercise instructions when home. He has been patient in allowing me to progress at a reasonable pace that fits where I am at. It took me decades of work that included repetitive motion to become so twisted in posture, so my progress is slow. But the manual muscle therapy has been been a good boost to the treatment I started 4 years ago and I am thankful.
