For the price, however, the room is too small, accommodating not even a reading chair. (A slightly smaller bathroom would have yielded a far more comfortable room.) Also not expected was the malodorous sewer gas from the bathroom sink (also encountered at the Hotel Ripa Roma). Is that a flaw in the Italian sanitation system? Most of the staff are very helpful and friendly although every so often you will get a receptionist who is a standoffish with an air of ennui. There is also a spa with saunas as well as a fitness room with the standard equipment including 2 treadmills, a rower, an elliptical, and 2 bikes along with complimentary still and sparkling waters (canned). Since we had an early flight we decided to take advantage of room service and enjoyed breakfast in our sitting room.
