We've come here about a dozen times and have never had anything but a perfect experience. Staff is always friendly and attentive and whoever is in the kitchen grilling steaks nails it every single time. I always get the ribeye and a loaded baked potato and it's perfect. Their salad bar is good. The decor isn't fancy which is perfectly fine with everyone who eats there. I can't help thinking their rating should be way higher. read more

Everyone who has been there knows the ambiance is pretty bland but the food and prices are well worth it. I always order take out. I'm disappointed the containers are smaller. I dislike the fact that rarely does anyone don the gloves available and no one makes an effort to encourage them. That said the grilled seafood platter is always plentiful and perfectly cooked and the blue cheese dressing is the best I've found anywhere! The service is spotty, sometimes it is prompt and pleasant other times it is hard to find anyone or to even receive a courtesy or smile. But, in Hawkinsville this remains the best place for good food at a good price. read more

The best buffet in town, but def not the best food in town. Typical southern buffet w/ plenty of meats, veggies and even 2 kinds of desserts. Plenty of parking and they can seat large parties quickly. Ask for Louis if you want to experience real southern hospitality and a genuine dose of pure happiness! God bless all of y'all. read more

This was a hidden treasure that we happen to stumble across. We where in Perry Ga at a car show and was looking for a good steak house to go to afterwards. One of our members found this place online and we gave it a shot. I'm here to tell you it was a great place. The service was amazing and the food was too. Our waiter handled our group of 20 like a champ. Couldn't have asked for better. Lots of parking as well for our large group. I'm hoping next year when we come back to get to go again. If your in Ga around the Perry area I would highly recommend this place for you. read more

This is still the best buffet in town. Nothing fancy, no frills. Just a good meal at a fair price. Room to spread out. Polite helpful staff. No-body can get a better scald on a piece of beef. People complain about a variety of things but hell they do that about a state dinner at the whitehouse. If you're waiting until 1:30 to find a great buffet your searching for a rare animal. This was at one time the only "real" restaurant in the area. Used to drive from Cochran over there to eat out. My most recent visit left me kind of wondering what is happening to the place. If I could give zero stars and write a review I would. Horribly dirty - everything from floor to table to wall was covered in grease spots and old food particles. Completely understaffed, though what staff was there was nice. Food was super salty and greasy, salad bar was gross and empty, and the sneeze guard covered in God knows what. Tried The Steakhouse again on Sunday; this being the first time we've gone since they switched from cafeteria style serving back to (mostly) regular buffet service. This transition isn't going very smoothly either. They've build new choke-points into their service line with this (as happened with cafeteria service). And the "put on a plastic glove to handle the serving utensils with" didn't really do anything to keep them more sanitary (there were no instructions to don a new one for getting seconds and no one was checking to make sure people were gloving up once you got past the front door...for instance, a fair number of people just kept their first glove on for their entire meal, including multiple trips back to the food and dessert bars). Anyways, all that aggravation and slowness aside, once you got your food and sat down to eat, you found out that it just wasn't worth the wait. The food was uniformly unseasoned (and I mean really unseasoned, not that there wasn't enough...there was none, period). For instance, I could detect little to no sage, onion or even salt and pepper in the dressing. Even my favorite, the cold, leftover turkey (makes you feel like it's the day after Thanksgiving every Sunday), didn't taste right. Cooked veggies tasted like they were straight out of the can, not simmered long enough with whatever seasonings and chunks of pork they might have had in them to give them some flavor. The salad was wilted, with small black chunks mixed in here and there. The only reason that this is a 2 star review (instead of 1) is that the fried chicken was very good, and the blue cheese salad dressing was delicious (too bad there was no fresh, crispy salad to use it on). I think it's time to take a long break from this buffet, perhaps all the way until the weather cools down again. Sad to say that because this used to be just about our favorite place to go eat in the area, but they're just not up to that standard anymore, not even on good days. read more

We went to The Stake House restaurant Friday Jan 15, 2016 at around 6:30 PM. We waited about 15 min to be seated, the restaurant was not filled and there was plenty of seating. While The member of my party had to go the restroom, I was seated, by the manager, I told him that we needed to be up front due to the fact that the other member of my party was handicapped. The manager snapped at my, " you did not tell me". However he still tried to seat us far back. I moved to a closer empty table. While waiting for the other member of my party to get back from the restroom a large table of women came in the manager came to the area and said, speaking to me "I NEED THAT TABLE, THAT IS WHY I LEFT IF EMPTY". I SAID NO. He was unprofessional in his tone, actions and dress. Other than, that the food was ok and the service was great. I feel that he needs to apologies. read more

We went there last night for what promised to be great dinner, based on previous reviews here and from some locals who boasted about. The steaks are very thin cuts, although well cooked, it was way to chewy and too much gristle. The salad bar was just ok, the dressing was watery, the blue cheese was just an unidentifiable white lumpy substance with no blue cheese taste-supermarket bottled dressing would be much better. The place is noisy, lacks ambiance and has a truck stop look to it. The sneeze guards above the salad bar was as dirty as the windows, both of which looks like they haven't been cleaned since 2001. I will start by stating that I ate off of the buffet and judge anyone who goes to a restaurant with a buffet and chooses to order off a menu. The food was very well cooked and is one of the few places that I know that can make stewed okra edible. The negative reviews around this restaurant centered on fried food, price and cleanliness.
