I just moved to the Mid South GA area from TN (world's best BBQ, imo) and have had one heck of a time finding anywhere that anyone would dare recommend to me for good bbq besides Buc-ee's. Finally a co-worker piped up about Scott's. It took me a few weeks but we just stopped in for lunch and wow. This is the best bbq I've had since moving to Georgia. Hands down the best brisket I've had in years. My fiancé got the pulled pork sandwich, it was also excellent. Sweet sauce is perfect. Plenty of sides and desserts to choose from, and tea sweetened to perfection, no sugar overload here. Scott's bbq is a simple, small town bbq restaurant in all the best ways. Friendly service, more than fair prices (I tipped large as I felt they undercut themselves!) and large portions. The food is just alright. I recently visited Cochran and was hoping to satisfy a craving for solid BBQ or a juicy burger. Unfortunately, while the experience wasn't bad, it also wasn't particularly memorable. The BBQ had all the right looks but lacked depth of flavor. The meat was tender enough, but there was nothing that really stood out. It was decent, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. In Cochran to watch some college baseball. Scott's was recommend to us by Dayle at the Mule Barn. Bbq was spot on. I had the pulled pork meal, my wife had the pork and brisket combo. Both meats were great. The only thing holding me back from a five star is I like my BBQ a tad bit smokier. But the tenderness and the sides were spot on! Service was outstanding, super friendly and attentive. This being a small town place, everyone knew we were strangers in Cochran but we were so welcomed!! And my tea glass was never empty. This has a true BBQ joint vibe...one that's earned and not contrived. I'm sure we'll be finding an excuse to buzz through Cochran again, and Scott's will visited again! read more

Delicious! I had pork ribs, coleslaw, and beans. The rub was a tad salty for me but the ribs were very tender and meaty. The beans are real bbq beans. The coleslaw was slightly sweet and creamy, a nice compliment to the tangy bbq sauce. Great service in a small town bbq house read more

I grew up in this small town, so I confess, my opinion of this spot is wholly influenced by massive amounts of nostalgia. This is the spot my parents took us to on the weekends when we wanted to get out of the house. This is where we picked up to go orders of barbecue and sides to take to family dinners. And as soon as I learned to drive, this is where I drove to have lunch with my high school buddies. I visited Scott's every time I came home from college for a visit, and honestly, I still try to stop every time I visit my home town even today. The barbecue sauce is vinegar-based, and it is my absolute favorite. It is the standard by which I judge all other barbecue. The pulled pork sandwich is a hit, as is the barbecue chicken. I love the cole slaw, too. Look for the spaghetti noodles in your Brunswick stew if you opt to give that a try! Give it a shot if you are in the area - it will certainly beat the fast food options in town. read more

The cheeseburgers and fries at this place use to be something to write home about, but sadly they aren't anymore. Consistency seems to be lacking in the BBQ sauce and the quality of food that is turned out. I will say, if you want some good Texas style brisket, then definitely try theirs. read more

Left a review of 4-stars approximately 8 months ago. Since then, we have had takeout several times. We used to enjoy the chicken, ribs, and chopped/pulled pork. Now, sad to say, each time we order the half BBQ chicken, it's just not cooked completely. There are times it's not fully cooked inside and the outside is where the skin is still soft & "stretchy". Ribs are still very good, unless you get the small, end of the rack... those are always overcooked and dried out to the point where you can't/won't eat them. The middle, meatier ribs are still good. The chopped pork is still good as long as the BBQ sauce doesn't have so much vinegar in it so that it's verrry strong. Sides... unless it's fries... don't bother. Mac-n-cheese pasta is so overcooked and mushy; green beans are over cooked & mushy; banana pudding is 90% vanilla wafers without pudding, and bananas used are wayyyyyyy past the ripe age they should be used. Sorry for only 2 stars but the food is just not as good as it was 8-12 months ago. read more

I was disappointed with the sliced pork because the slices did not appear to be freshly sliced. They look like they were pre-sliced and have been sitting around for a while. The pork was also dry. The coleslaw was good. Green beans were good you were only offered one barbecue sauce that they bring to the table and it's vinegar-based. The other entrée that was served was the chipped pork, which also had a vinegar taste to it. We will go back again to try something else to give it a fair shot. read more

Stopped in this morning on my way back to Seattle as a going away gift from a coworker. I got some brisket straight out of the smoker and chipped beef. Wow, is that brisket good. I love Scott's BBQ! As far as I'm concerned they have the absolute best cheeseburger I've ever ate! Whenever I go to Scott's, it's usually a family affair. My Grandma swears by their chicken salad and my mom loves their salads and hamburger steak with extra gravy. The atmosphere is quaint and friendly and you're always welcomed with a smile. :) The sweet tea is also amazing and I always ask for a cup of their crushed ice to go. My husband recently got the BBQ chicken and chipped pork combination plate and was very satisfied. For some, thier BBQ sauce is a little on the vinegar side but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it! read more

Good simple country good at a great price. The BBQ is solid! Don't expect cordon Bleu dining, it's simple country food prepared well. I still like the BBQ. But, the last few times I have ordered a hamburger steak with gravy I have been disappointed. The gravy tastes like it came from a packet and the rest was kinda blah. I hate it because I have enjoyed Scott's many times in the past. They need to expand, because it is crowded and if many people are waiting on take out orders it is crazy. I wish they would hire more help, that way food is ready in a reasonable amount of times. It was 53 minutes from the time I placed a takeout order until it was in my hands.
