Great spot for a pint and craic if you find yourself on a night out in East Belfast!! Live music, local craft beers and cool vibes all round!!

Great wee addition to East Belfast. Good atmosphere and quirky decor. Lots of great ales on offer to sample, excellent bar to meet and catch up with friends **Updated October 2016 Had to remove a star due to the food! I have eaten here twice now and although the food is nice it is soooo overpriced for what you get! My first order was for a 'fill your box' which is basically 4 bar snacks for £10, so £2.50 each. We ordered four items including chicken wings which we got 3 of!!!! For £2.50-3 wings!!!!!! This time we went for a 'meal!' And ordered the mixed combo to share at £21. It basically consisted of 3 onion rings, a few chips, a tiny steak, 1/2 rack of VERY small and fatty ribs, a thin piece of chicken and pepper sauce (the only decent sized portion, unfortunately there wasn't enough food to use it with!). I would suggest eating somewhere else in the road, there are many restaurants to choose from. This bar is best for its drink selection only in my opinion.

Great transformation from the point, the whole atmosphere has changed. Its more relaxing and civilised. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks good.

Great bar and restaurant, I've been In here once from it has changed to stokers halt from the point and what and great improvement , lovely decor in keeping with the name! , I haven't tried the food but I plan too soon, lots of variety of drinks including local craft beers, staff are friendly ,great atmosphere and lovely place to have a drink a bite to eat. Got to eat in here eventually and I've got to be honest I wasn't overly impressed by the food I got, I got chicken goujons and chips with a garlic mayo dip. The chicken goujons were meant to be southern fried although I didn't taste any southern fried taste on them at all and I didnt like the texture of the chicken goujons , the chips were pale but tasted nice and the garlic dip was nice but a bit vinegary. I would try other food on the menu and the desserts look nice.

The tables by the entrance are the best but don't be fooled by the small appearance its like Dr who's tardis as the space through the next set of doors there's a massive room for dining or dancing. You have to park in a car park on the opposite side of the road which is a bit inconvenient but its just added character and the food was nice too. We'd love to go back sometime soon .

As for the food, we have eaten in a lot of places in a number of countries but this was as good as anything we have come acrooss. And the finishing touch was dining beside the huge log fire on a freezing winter night. It was so good that we went back another couple of times during our week's stay. We are going ti Ireland again shortly on holiday and Saltwater Brig will be our number one priority for another visit. We were back in Ireland for another holiday in November. The Saltwater Brig was top of our agenda for a return visit.......and we weren't disappointed. Once again everything about it was superb - the beautiful location beside Strangford Lough, the cosy surroundings and the welcoming staff (especially Olive who is the friendliest waitress you could meet). Then there is the food. The extensive menu is fantastic and we cannot speak highly enough of its quality, and all very reasonably priced. If you enjoy "a taste of Ulster" put The Saltwater Brig on your MUST VISIT list. We guarantee you will love it.

The Decour is nice and it's a spacious location overall. In good weather, it's nice they have a large patio to accommodate, also. Nothing on the menu really called out to me once I was sitting down and reading through it. It was a quiet afternoon, there was one large party outdoors on the patio and two other tables with two people each. I saw two servers. I decided to order bread and one glass of wine and then move somewhere else for dinner. I enjoyed the breads and the wine. The olive tapenade was divine. The hop-infused whipped butter was interesting on the tastebuds initially, it grew on me. I think they might need more help. The large table was waiting to order for so long, one of the guests came inside to hunt down a server to place their order. Nobody ever checked on me once I had my plate of bread to see if I was enjoying it. I don't think I will return to this establishment.

This pub has been standing since the 17th Century, they know a thing or two about hospitality. Our party of five made ourselves cozy in the sessions corner as the pub keeper offered to light a peat moss fire for our comfort. They sell tee-shirts and tourist patronize this place, on account of it being a very old, beautiful Irish pub, but there were a few locals enjoying a pint when we stopped in. One of the owners is American, and I was surprised to see JFK Memorabilia in the smaller room. They have antique oil lamps, old firearms and assorted things on display for patrons to muse. They proudly serve Bushmills and even their own brand of Crosskeys Whisky, but I got a gin and tonic and enjoyed the Northern Irish craic that was on full supply on this June day.

The guy with blue eyes behind the bar asked how long I was in town for, hoping that I would come back after being turned away... NO THANK YOU . Excellent service for my first hour in Ireland . Update 04-28-2026: wow, I can't believe how both the business and employee (Pearse Duffy) both responded. Completely unprofessional, Dishonest, and Disrespectful treatment of a traveler who just wanted a warm meal. Whatever you're talking about having "all orders 2 hrs before posted time" isn't working because the tall Asian woman in the white sweater walked in and out, just after I did. So I'm not the only one who is being mislead and dismissed for your ignorance and arrogance. You clearly need to make your hours more obvious, change how you display them, or do something else, because I am not the only person having this problem. What you're current doing regarding your hours, or handling of negative reviews is not working! I posted this review to help both this business and any future potential customers from making the same mistake that I did. The correct response would be : I'm so sorry that happened to you, will change it right away. But to call me obnoxious for pointing out a valid criticism? Bizarre behavior from an established restaurant. As for Pearse Duffy, the disgruntled employee who turned me away after laughing at me, noted that it is his 2nd week working in the harassing Facebook message that he sent me, and it shows... The correct response would have been; I'll tell my manager right now to update the hours on Google so that this doesn't happen again. I'm so sorry, what can I do to make this right? Not laughing at me, stalking me, and sending me a harassing message on my Facebook profile. If he contacts me again, I will be submitting all of this information to the local authorities, and filing a police report. This is not how you handle an upset customer, as either a business or an employee. This is exactly how you ruin your reputation and get fired. Stalking an upset customer and then sending them a harassing message over an honest review is grounds for immediate dismissal in any industry. This is a terrible look for your employee, your management, and your business. This is no way to handle a business or a customer, I hope someone who knows how to sees this updated review.
