This review is on the customer service only. I haven't been able to experience the actual studio…read moreyet, but I hope to in the near future. I purchased "educational studio time" (not sure of the exact name, but the service is 1 hr long at $100) for my son who loves music and aspires to be a producer/audio engineer, rapper, etc... Before booking the time I had a few questions. I was weary because the recommended/required form of communication is via email only and I wasn't sure I would hear back in a timely fashion. Boy was i surprised, not only did I hear back within less than a 24 hour period the response was informative and engaging (asked questions to clarify what exactly I was trying to accomplish. Moreover, clarifying what my son was trying to accomplish. After a few back and forth emails the educational session was recommended. I completed the order. I was contacted again, very quickly to schedule the time and date. I received a calendar notification with thorough details to getting to the studio on my assigned date. Unfortunately, my personal circumstances changed and I needed to cancel the session. I sent an email explaining my situation. Again, I received prompt courteous communication accepting the cancellation and noting the refund process. Based on my experience with the customer service I really hope I can eventually book and keep a session for my son.

Hey, and Yea'h to Lockout Studios, for providing dedicated workspace for art. Being in a space that…read moreis by definition, deemed 'Caution: Artist Workzone Up Ahead' is liberating. My progress had stalled working at home. Vocal warmups, ear training, time-in for composition, experimenting at volume, etc. 'just never worked well' at home. Similarly, being 'out on an island' renting commercial space within earshot of contractors, accounting offices, chiropractic, etc - would inevitably result in me having to accommodate, rearrange schedules, set-up tear-down my gear, compromising... I don't feel alone and out numbered, but I also feel understood and respected when I and my art need some distance. Please, keep doing what you guys are doing because I have something to say, something to add to the state of the art. Thanks so much, Lockout Studios. Charles P

I moved in February 1st, excited to start my journey back to music…read more I knew I was going to miss a couple weeks, and ended up moving in late on February. The first night, I already could tell this was a waste of money. I was sandwiched between two loud producers, one of which a non-black rapper constantly saying the n word in his music. He also said it outside in the hall. (A white man) I am a lifelong musician, loud rehearsal neighbors aren't new to me- but what bothers me is that this studio is not actually a studio. They are office buildings. There is absolutely NO noise isolation and to top that off, the door I had was broken. After 5 min of my walls rumbling from both sides with absolutely no insulation to soften the blow, so loud my head was throbbing - I realized the lockout owners were likely cash grabbers with no passion for sound. Very different from Sac Rehearsal and the other one off El Camino where you at least get SOME LEVEL of isolation and professional attempts at noise reduction. On top of that- I was offered a tour with a measly $100 off my next room selection. When I attempted to reschedule the tour, their only available hours to do so were 10A-2:45P, Mon-Fri, which as you might expect - will not work for 90% of people who can afford rehearsal studios. When I finally was able to schedule a time, they canceled for a family emergency and rebooked for Monday the 24th, leaving me a measly 7 days of a potential rehearsal experience. When I brought this to their attention, they nastily retorted, "well you've had access to the space the whole time!" A space with no noise isolation that is entirely impossible to think in, let alone rehearse in. Save your money- even if you're a mile away like I am, it's better to go to House of Hits. Even Sac Rehearsal. The only benefit of this place is the "safe" location- but it's really built with no regards to musicians and the customer service is built equally as shitty.

As someone who loves performing AND perfecting, I wasn't overwhelmed while taking direction. The front desk gals were always so pleasant and helpful! This really gave me the inspiration I needed to continue my dreams and aspirations. I looked forward to each class. I also keep in touch in my cohort and we continue to encourage each other! It was great to see all of the photos and success of previous students plastered on the wall! Yes! I love the full breakdown Cody gave us regarding "moving to LA" I was mind blown and completely changed my perspective on Acting and how I should pursue it! I cannot wait to take the commercial course this month and continue my ongoing acting classes! Tip: 1. Go in ready to learn and absorb everything. Take notes, EVERY session. (I'm still reviewing notes and implementing them) 2. Ask questions. Everything that you have ever wondered about the industry. ASK! 3. Make connections. There are beginners, advanced and in-between in the class. There may be opportunities to work with them in the future! 4. During your one on one, speak candidly, respectfully and ask MORE questions! This is your time to learn from Cody, who has been in the industry since he was a child! Wealth of knowledge!
