I joined this class wanting to learn more about the industry and to get the chance to work with people in person. After the last 4 weeks I feel like I've learned more than I did before which I'm grateful for. This class has given me the confidence I needed to make my career possible. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I felt rushed during my scenes each week which could have been for numerous reasons. I think due to the fact that I took a 4 week class instead of ongoing classes made it feel like we had to rush. After taking the introductory TV/Film 4 week class, I think if you want to be an actor and need direction, Studio24 is great place to go . Cody is a fantastic teacher, super knowledgeable, gives clear feedback and honest advice. You can tell he is passionate and sincere. "Show" and "Business". Two words that actually go together, but in an acting class rarely is the word "Business" incorporated. The "Show" portion is usually 99.9% of the class, but not at Studio 24. I've been lucky enough to do stage shows locally, and was getting a head shot done, when the guy who was taking my head shots asked if it was for TV/Film. I never thought of myself as being able to do that, but he said I should give it a shot. I looked at various classes, and came upon Studio 24. It's main focus is on TV/Film, so I figured what better place to get my feet wet and see what it's all about. Needless to say, this class, and the Studio 24 institution is in my opinion, the best acting class I've ever been able to attend. I took a class at an extremely reputable acting company in San Francisco, which was amazing, but coming across Studio 24, it blew that class out of the water. Cody Dorkin (owner and instructor) has the patience of Job, and made sure that ALL students got as much time as everybody else involving feed back, technique and pushing everyone to be their best. Being older than almost everybody in the class, I really wanted to scream out to everybody what they actually had here, and what they had is AMAZING. Cody has the ability to pinpoint a performance, tweak it, know his students, and direct them in a way that gives results that dropped my jaw more than a few times. The "Business" aspect of the class is just as noteworthy as the acting portion. Cody gives very detailed information about getting an agent, how to approach an audition, local talent agencies, and how to best prepare as an actor to GET PARTS. He gives a blueprint as to going down to Los Angeles, and because of his film acting background (look him up on IMDB), he knows what he's talking about. He coaches you to be at the top of your game during an audition, and what goes through a casting directors mind. Great Headshots. Great Instruction. My son had a set of head shots done at Studio 24 for some acting resumes he needs to submit. Cody did an exceptional job. He was a great help in selecting the correct clothes for the "look" we were going for. The new facility is great and it allows a great deal of natural light for lighting the images. We were reviewing the photos online within minutes of wrapping the shoot. The problem was that there were too many excellent shots to choose from. There are a lot of good portrait photographers out there. Acting head shots are a speciality and it is important to have someone who knows how to do a good headshot. Not everyone can do them. Studio 24 has this down to a science. Got some excellent coaching from Jackie on developing the acting career. Studio 24 is an excellent part of developing the skills to succeed in the film/TV acting world. This place would be exceptional if it were based in LA. I have been looking for a great instructor and classes to help sharpen my skills and stay ready for auditions. I needed some refreshing to get comfortable again and was drawn to studio 24. I was introduced to them by someone I saw had taken a class with them through my agency and curiously I started researching them. I then started watching their videos on Youtube and the services they offered. After seeing the reels they produced for their students as well as the content and information Cody was providing in his videos, I felt intuitively I should try one of their workshops. My sister and I enrolled in their TV/Commercial workshop and we were absolutely blown away by Cody as an Instructor. He is very professional, knowledgeable and attentive. We left on a complete high. This place is a joke and a waste of money. Granted i can only speak for the headshot services. The classes may be a whole other story but i highly doubt it. If i hear one more person from that studio say " in the business" I will throw up. As an actual working professional "in the business" I can tell you the information they tried to pawn off on me was ridiculous. I know there is a place for this type of business. Hopeful families fork over hundreds of dollars in hopes of getting their big break, but i can promise you this is not the way. The quality of work done on the headshots is fine, you will more than likely get a use-able shot to take with you on auditions. But dont be fooled, they are no more industry professionals than John Robert Powers, ProScout or any those other scam studios. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Studio 24 and Cody! I was really considering acting and was struggling to find a place since most of the trainers and coaches are in southern california. I luckily stumbled upon Studio 24 and this was the best decision I've ever made! Cody is so experienced and knowledgable on what he coaches you on! I took the intro to TV/Film course, and I learned so much in just the two months! It was definitely worth what I paid! He is really helpful, does fun improv games, and truly throws his students out there to see what they are capable of! We did tons of scenes in this class and it really gives you a vibe of if acting is for you, and what you want to pursue. I met the most amazing friends in this class and it was really cool because we all became so close so quickly from this experience! All of the workers are soo friendly and awesome, including Kyler and Jaime! Cody has successfully trained actors who are now performing in the Los Angeles area. Honestly, take a class here! Theres tons to pick from, ranging from the commercial class, to TV/film, to ongoing (which you're placed in). He also helps his students make demo reels and takes their headshots! In no way shape or form do I feel like I am just another number or a pay check to them. I took the voiceover class. The description of the class and what actually happened in the class were completely different from each other. It was very disappointing. Yes we did get time behind the mic, but that was the entire class pretty much. The description of the class said that we would get instruction on how to break into the business, equipment that's used, different strategies, and things along that line. Having my time was supposed to be a small part of it. Did not learn anything about the business or how to break into it at all. After almost three hours of sitting in the studio with about seven other people, all we did was listen to each other play rolls. It was also very disappointing because all they focused on was characters. They did not focus on any other aspect of voice over such as documentaries, e-books, presentations or anything like that. It was definitely not what I expected or what was presented for the class. Our teacher was very nice and of course very talented, but if you're looking for a beginner introductory class into voice over this is definitely not it. It was really pretty much a waste of our 3 hours. read more

Webster's Dictionary defines a dream as "an idea or vision that is created in your imagination and that is not real", I dreamt of being an Actor my whole life performing at rundown improv theaters in Downtown Sacramento to classes in college but it wasn't until I stumbled across Studio 24 that I actually felt like I was living my dream. As an Actor in LA now, I can truly say that Cody Dorkin was one of the best teachers I have ever had! His talent to teach people the art of acting is undeniably unique.
