We've been to three so far -- two individual and one group. Judit is a patient instructor, and we're moving along a little better than I'd expected. The only negative is that my wife has unexpectedly taken a shine to swing dancing, and it's clear that I'm going to have to try to keep up with her. But Judit swears she has it under control. Maybe I'll provide an update in a few weeks! The studio is inviting and relaxed. Our kids are welcome, and they just sort of hang out in the corner and eat the snacks that are provided. Prices seem reasonable, and she's been accomodating about scheduling the individual lessons at times that work for us. We'll give it a week or two more, then try one of the dance party practice sessions. Wish us luck!

But my daughter actually decided to quit in the middle of her second year because she got bored and wanted to try something else. She now wants to start again, but I will NOT be sending her back to CSDS. The recital is great. Very entertaining. But they're business practices need some work. First off all, the recital tickets are bought on a first come first serve basis. They appoint a time and everyone has to go to the studio at that time and only that time. I had to actually work on the day and time that they had specified, so I asked if I could drop off a check at an earlier time. The director said no, that it wouldn't be fair. So I had to send my mother to the studio for me at the alloted time at 2pm. I came to find out that there was a class in the morning on the same day and that the parents had already bought their tickets that morning and all the good seating was already gone. Is that fair? She says no to me but says yes to others! I don't care if it's only a couple of hours before the allotted time, it's still ahead of time! Secondly, I spent $30 on a dvd of the recital that skipped. I couldn't even watch my daughter's dance. I was told I could get a replacement. I never got it, after muliple emails and speaking to the instructor. Lastly, my daughter's costume was paid in full ($60) before she decided to quit last year. I was told I could pick up her costume when they came in. I called them multiple times to find out if the costume was in. I never spoke to any one. I left messages and got no return phone call. So in the end they took $90 (dvd and costume) and I have nothing to show for it. Not even a phone call. This studio has dance teams that compete, and if you're not on the dance team, they really don't care about you. Their customer service skills are the worst. We'll be going back to Chery's School of Dance in Melrose!

I had to stop going for a while because of work/school, but I recently started going again and I've found these classes to be the most fulfilling type of self-care. Something that sets Masacote apart is the great community. Everyone is so friendly, from Greg at the front desk, to each of the instructors and even the students in the advanced classes. Tana, Audrey and Dave are great instructors. They are very skilled dancers but they also know how to communicate and translate that into skillful instruction. They really went/go out of their way to make sure I learn what I need to learn. They call themselves the Masa Tribe. While it was hard for me to see myself as part of something like a salsa dancing club, I see now why that name makes so much sense. I really feel I'm a part of a team every Tuesday and Thursday when I go to class, and even beyond that. I really recommend these classes to anyone who wants to learn to dance, to have fun or simply to meet wonderful people and make new friends. The location at the CAC is very nice and easily accessible. There is free parking after 5 pm. And the class prices are pretty affordable too!

This is ballet at its truest and finest form. These artists make ballet look easy (and it is far from it) so I applaud every single person in this show. Boston Ballet performers are absolutely phenomenal. What's so amazing, aside from the show, is watching people file in and noticing the crowd ranges anywhere from 7 year olds to 70 year olds. Anyone can come, watch, and enjoy. Truly a perfect outing for you and your whole family, with friends, or solo! Highly recommend catching The Nutcracker!

This is the worst tango experience you can have in the area. That includes lessons and milongas…read more First, the female "host" treats dancers with disrespect. She does not encourage students during lessons, but rather insults and embarrasses them with demeaning comments. Multiple students have complained about this treatment. There's an overall unfriendly atmosphere during milongas and lessons, especially if you are a newcomer. Also, the lessons and milongas are extremely expensive. You can have a much better experience at other places in the area and not have to spend so much money. There's too much emphasis on "business" and profit-making as opposed to creating a friendly, welcoming environment for dancers.

I left after one hour and dance only one tango with a newcomer like myself. Unfortunately my experience was not good. I will never go back. Definitely not an Argentinean flavor in my view.
