They had some good discounts on summer clothes but not quite what we were looking for in either style or size. We did, however, eye plenty of goodies for friends and gifts and my wife bought one. Justine's store is welcoming and full of interesting clothing, as well as other items ranging from lotions to teas. The femmes bought a wide range of items and I found this blue, green and grey hat knit from Susan's hand-carded, hand-spun yarn that is naturally died. Susan's knit work is glorious. The head-wear has drawn a dozen comments from folks since I got it two weeks ago on Dec. 26, during that boxing day shopping tour. I also bought two handcrafted herbal teas that helped me fight a chest cold that struck on the drive up. We visited the store twice during our five-day stay. Stop by and be ready to be enchanted.

We chatted about the music that she had playing in the background and she generously wrote down the play list for me. You want organic... this place GOT it!…read more Walking in... I had to do a double take because I swear I thought this place was made for my friend Chris! Literally, ORGANIC GALORE... even their sketch books! It's a nice place to browse and see what they have... but of course, with most organic shops... it was very pricey. Pricey but worth it, right? Hurray for hippie clothes!…read more Ok, so I don't like hippie things. I don't like patchouli. I don't like Birkenstocks. And I definitely don't like dreadlocks on white people. But I do like natural fibers grown organically by people who receive a decent wage for doing it. And this store carries a lot of them. I've been in here several times over the years and always find something I like - whether it's an organic hemp hoodie that's really comfortable or an organic cotton sweater that's absolutely adorable or a t-shirt with a photo of George W. Bush with a caption under it that says "American Psycho". People working here are always really nice too. And you can pick up a glass pipe, if that's your thing. Fucking hippie.

I don't recall exactly what wasn't my style last time I visited, but Tangents is actually a cool little shop. They're located across from Harvest Market in Mendocino with plenty of street parking. The staff was very welcoming and helped check on prices of items that needed a ladder. They do charge a 3.5% fee on credit card purchases, so bring cash if you're planning on a bigger purchase. Still, the stained glass piece I bought was very well priced for its size and considering it was locally made.

They give you store credit so if you were buying 100 dollars worth of things you can use only use 50 dollars of store credit and have to pay the rest. On top of all of that I brought in some clothes and gave them my number(they said they'd call me back in a week or less) and they never called me back. I went back in two weeks later and asked if they had gone through my things and they said no, but two of things I brought in were out in the store being sold. A friend of mine also brought in clothes at the same time(three months ago) and they went through mine but not his. He left a message asking what was up with that and they never returned his call. Store hours and days they're open are also so inconsistent. Super disappointed as this is the only used clothing place in town that does "trades". Maybe just advertise what it actually is which is store credit. Also the owner has never once been in when myself or anyone I know has been inside. Its a lazy business to say the least.
