Stopped into this thrift store to check it out. I am an avid thrifter, I don't buy things new unless I absolutely have to. This place is awesome. The prices are great, and I found some good pottery and they had so many cute teapots. Staff is friendly, I didn't get a chance to look through the clothes but the pricing sheet was very reasonable. The only thing is I wish their carts were a little more practical. They have the smaller really low to the ground carts that don't have a spot for a baby in the top. It was a little difficult to shop with my kiddos, but if you remember to put your stroller in the car (unlike me) it shouldn't be an issue. read more

We stopped here on a whim while driving by. I liked this place and bought a book by Martin Gardner for $2. My wife bought a bunch of tights for our daughter at $2 a pair. There were some neat pieces of glassware that were nice to look at. read more

Most amazing place ever! Not only do I get all my clothes there, but they are also super sweet and honest. I donated a bag on a Sunday. I was just so happy to give my clothes away on a spontaneous day, that I didn't even recheck it to see if I had anything important was let in it. Let's just say. I got a call a Tuesday night and the lady said she found my wallet and my husband's credit card. Not only am I wondering how she found my number( she had to have done some work ), but she made me feel like there are still good people in this world. Who will do the right things. The fact the she found my number and was apologetic about the time she called, she made me love this place even more. I shop there a lot but now I will only shop there. Me and my hubby went in this morning. I wanted to purchase a mickey and Minnie mouse for my bestie. Well , they were in a bag (one of those bags a comforter would come in ) it was zipped tied shut. I asked if I could look at it before I bought it ? The guy looked at us with attitude and said no, he said it's been tested. I said I'd like to see if it works before buying for 50.00. I don't know. 2 year update - as Erica had mentioned in her reply, PB has brought in new staff. Ive seen a gradual change in the last year, more than likely due to the new staff. Here's my breakdown of pros and cons to the thrift: Pros - prices. If it's a regularly marked item, their prices are good. Dirty clothes. The people sorting do a pretty good job imo of tossing clothes that are not wearable. Once in a while they have rag bags, so that's good they're trying to keep clothes from the landfill. The people that work there. Honestly, everyone I've come across (I'm there daily it seems like) is really sweet. If you didn't know this about Mendocino co, we were one of the last counties to get rid of the mask. I was in there several times tourist came in, and was upset we had that mandate still. Folks who are working in PB put up with a lot of meanness, and still managed to be kind. Cons. Pricing up clothes that seem to have a higher value. Can we just stop this already. This misconception of what has value is getting out of hand. Marking up shoes. Again, flat prices on shoes please. All in all, PB is a good thrift store, and I appreciate having it in my home town. This is a cool thrift store in Fort Bragg that carries a good selection of women's clothes as well as furniture, some nifty vintage electronics and various household goods and home decor. The staff was friendly during my visit and the atmosphere was welcoming. I would definitely stop here again! read more

Came in with my family, and we looked around a bit. we came across a toddler bike on the floor that we thought would be perfect for my 2 year old son. Not visibly able to see a price on it, We brought it up to the register to pay for it, the man at the register realized there wasn't a price so he took it to the back of the store, he came back up and said " The pricing Lady isn't ready to put a price on the bike and she wasn't aware the bike was on the floor for sell, she decided she'd keep it in back of the store with her." We all looked at each other so confused. I'm guessing she wanted to keep it for herself? I just thought it was rude for her not to give us a price but maybe she has grandchildren that could enjoy the bike more than my son could..? Was really bothered when we left. Went went into this thrift shop about 10 minutes to closing. We were greeted with a kind older women. We were in there for 2 mins and we're heading to front to buy a purse my daughter saw right away and the cashier lady started freaking out about how they were closing she must ring us up now. We were walking to cashier counter to pay and she said hurry hurry 8 mins prior to closing and we only had one item!!! We left the item and walked out and she looked at us and said you women are dumb and slammed the door!!! So much for a nice little thrift store environment. read more

We got to Paul B. at 3:25 and although the donation door was open and two people were there, they wouldn't take my friend's things because it was after 3. I was surprised to see all these bad reviews, I go to the store fairly often and yes, they are priced high, as well as all the thrift stores in the area, but probably because the rent or mortgage is high in this area. They have good scores in once in a while, you just have to goo often. read more

They have a pretty big variety of stuff, but most of it is priced as if it were new. I saw a plastic drawer for $5.00 that I recently bought four of at Walmart for $3.99 each. I just saw an item from Dollar Tree priced at $1.50 and an ancient tube TV priced at $35. I looked at the cameras and they're asking $20 for a filthy Minolta in worse condition than the one I recently saw at the Ark for $10. read more

Too many clothes put out with stains, rips and tears for my liking. Also not happy that you have to pay cash or a local check. No cards! Used to be at their old location they would have a sale every week but now they do not and I miss that when I am visiting. read more

I went in there to buy a sweatshirt. I only found 2, one of which I chose to purchase. It was faded and worn, but it still had some life left in it. At the register I paid for the item and was given my change. The item was mine. As the cashier was handing me my sweatshirt, the manager with the dark curly hair looked at it and YELLED at me, "YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT!" I was stunned. I said to her, "Why not???" She claimed it was because there was a red dot on the tag, and that means that the item should not have been put out for sale yet. She said that the lady who does the pricing left for the day, and she then CONFISCATED MY ITEM THAT I JUST PAID FOR and told the poor cashier to give me my money back!!! I am a local citizen who has been a faithful customer at that business for many years. I spend about $200 to $300 per year there. And she took my $4.50 used sweatshirt because she wanted to, what, raise the price a buck or two??? She violated my rights and was so rude that I will never go in there again.
