Many of our friends recommended the Southington Care Center, and we were fortunate to get in there. I cannot speak more highly of this organization! Attentive, skilled, and caring Nurses, CNAs, and Aides. And the PTs, OTs, and Speech Therapists were not only highly skilled and effective, but they all had amazing and genuine interpersonal skills - a very rare combination. The supporting staff from Admissions to the Social Worker/Transitions professionals, and other Staff were simply great. Other reviews mentioned issues with the food - but we found the food to be unexpectedly well-prepared and delicious! Sure, 5 weeks, 3 meals a day, to hundreds of patients, there were a couple "misses". But my Wife and I were stunned at how good the food was overall. Great job everybody! We are SO grateful that Carol was able to go to the Southington Care Center. (A Note to management... and this is NOT a SCC issue... I STRONGLY recommend you find a different Wheelchair Ambulatory Service than that from "Nazim" [860-990-1172]. Contact me if you need details, but they are a problem for patients and hurting your reputation. Again, these people are NOT associated with SCC at all).

We…read morehad a difficult time finding a facility in her immediate area that was willing to accept her due to her special needs, but not Wadsworth, they welcomed her with open arms. Staff was very eager learn and to be educated on her diagnosis' and the best ways to support her so she could return to her home as soon as possible. Everyone from the front desk staff to the nurses, rehab specialists and social workers treated her with nothing but kindness, caring and respect. I have never encountered a rehab facility like this where it was so obvious that they put the patient as a priority while accommodating all their needs. I would definitely recommend Wadsworth as a five star facility. They did not disappoint!

First, I am sorry for the negative post, but I need to share this...I want to warn you all that if…read moreyou have any elderly loved ones in an APPLE CARE facility, it is in your best interest to find a safer place for them to be cared for. I taught yoga at two of their facilities from November - March and was SHOCKED. In the short time that I was there, I witnessed a number of staff changes. A putrid odor of urine, feces, and bleach (so much so that I had difficulty breathing). Patients left out alone in the middle of the hallways having panic attacks. Some of the staff that I interacted with were extremely rude, not just to me, but to the patients as well. Telling them to "shut up." After sharing my experience with a few people, I have also heard other's horror stories about their negative experiences with Apple Rehab (Like staff refusing to change patients after they wet themselves). I also have a friend who works there and has shared with me how cheap and understaffed they are. I want everyone to be aware of what kind of care is provided. I do not want to blame all the staff because some of them are good and actually do care, but it seems that the people at the top do not have the best character. Apple Rehab hired me to teach Chair Yoga and has not paid me a dime. The staff kept telling me that it takes a while for them to process my invoice, but after 4 months of no pay it looks like they just took complete advantage of me. The residents there are so sweet and I worry for them.

Unfortunately, not a positive experience. 1st…read morevisit, they never even looked at my knee to measure for swelling, ROM, etc. They just put me on a bike for 10 min. After a couple of visits, I told them of my concern about lack of individual treatment vs, protocol for TKR...that sometimes treatment was too aggressive & that I was way too swollen & in pain after treatment which didn't subside as it should have. Treatments still didn't change. I stopped the bike at 8 min. on one visit & the therapist didn't like that at all. (BTW, I couldn't even pedal all the way around). Therapists were just way too inexperienced & focused much of their time with too much personal chit-chat. When I switched to a different therapist, on the 1st visit, I was able to ride a bike for 5 minutes, pedaling around completely! Obviously, Select had the bike set incorrectly). New Therapist measured my ROM and swelling immediately in order to accurately report progress to my doc, which is the way it should be! New place massages & applies ice after therapy to reduce swelling before I even go home. Select Physical Therapy has a lot to learn. Don't go there unless you want unnecessary pain & swelling & a much longer recovery time!
