The glaze is incredibly messy as soon as you bite into it it all crumbles everywhere and falls off the donut I will say it's the perfect texture fluffy and not to doughy. I thought they were just okay. I've Defs had better. I do still prefer Daddy O Doughnuts. We came on a Thursday afternoon and there were just 2 individuals ahead of us. Their front and side entrance make it really easy to social distance, as you can only enter from one side and exit out the other door. There is a limit of 2 groups inside at a time, 3 people max per group. We decided to get an Elvis, Pink Sprinkles and raspberry cheesecake. My bf liked the raspberry the best. I do appreciate that the icing is infused with real raspberries. I know this because I even got some seeds stuck in my teeth =p it had that sweet/tart after taste of a raspberry but I wasn't getting any "cheesecake" vibes? I thought maybe the donut was filled with cream cheese or something. ??? it wasn't. The pink sprinkles was just ok. It didn't really have anything special about it. I appreciate how soft and chewy the dough was but that's pretty much the highlight. Nice donut to judge texture of the dough, though. Ha ha The Elvis was probably my fave BUT I could've done without the banana bread sprinkle on top. I also appreciate what they were going for here but sometimes less is more. It was a whole chocolate banana peanut butter vibe but I just wanted to focus on the donut and chocolate peanut butter flavour. Lately, I am loving peanut butter donuts, so I would've been ok with just this and letting that flavour shine. The donuts here are hellllla expensive because they are individually priced. Like I saw the Apple fritter was a whopping $5. To be fair, it's pretty huge. But still, $5 for a singular donut? Nah. Just for the three donuts we got, it was already like $12 or something. Everyone seems to love it here. I should start off by saying that I'm not a donut connoisseur. My cousin brought me here for my birthday since she's had a coworker absolutely rave about the donuts. The shop was bright and airy when we walked in and there was a huge pink donut mural on the wall as well as some tables and chairs to the side. Since we've never been a staff member explained to us the different flavours of donuts available that day. I decided on the Earl Grey Lavender while my cousin got the Bronte Sugar Shack. These donuts are not cheap. They start at $3 for the small ones and go to $5 for the apple fritter. My cousin and I enjoyed our donuts at a picnic table at a park. It was nice tasting the Earl Grey in the icing with the purple drizzle tasting of lavender but it was too sweet for me. I ended up having as little of the icing as possible. I'm not sure what the extra bits on top of the donut were but they were crunchy and a nice change in texture with the softness of the donut. Having a Sunshine Donut for the first time. Wanted to try the Lemon Cheesecake seasonal one as per their website menu. Unfortunately they didn't have any, so i tried the Dulce de Leche which is from their year round menu. The size of the donut is bigger than the national chain TH. It is a yeast style donut. i thought it would be a bit heavier in weight. There was a hint of caramel flavour on the glaze but the salt took over most of the sweetness. The lemony one was not very lemony and the description of it was not too accurate. My SO liked it but was not very Wowed by it. The menu also has various hot beverages and also had Italian flavors of fountain soda. They didn't have all the choices as one would see at a retro TSC restaurant though. A clean decor and trays of various flavors available. It almost feels like a child going to a small candy store with the beautiful bright colors of glaze atop each donut. Yes, i saw the signature pink glaze with rainbow sprinkles one but didn't get one this time. Overall, i like the donut but it was a bit expensive. Might be a while until i go back. read more

I ordered 2 classic, a fritter and a lemon doughnut to serve for dessert later that evening. It was a quick in and out transaction. I agree with Nadia A.'s review from a few months ago that everything is super cute in terms of interior but I did not take one photo as it was a very quick visit. Also in agreement that the flavours were just alright? For a cute doughnut shop I would have liked to see more unique/wild flavours however - maybe that's not their brand? Sunshine is by far one of the best Donuts I had. If your ever near the area I would highly recommend you stop by and try their donuts. Everything is made fresh every day the ingredients they use are fresh as well. When I'm out in Oakville i will always make sure to stop by to grab my donuts. I've tried many donut places and by far this is one of my favourites. They always have so many different flavours and they are so cute! This was our first visit to Sunshine doughnuts. A friend had highly recommended we give it a try, so we went on Father's Day. We ordered 2 Vietnamese coffees and the Burly cream doughnut. The Vietnamese coffees were good, if a little bit sweeter and less strong than when we get them at a Vietnamese restaurant. We really enjoyed them though and would probably order them again. The Burly cream was outstanding!!! I'm not a fan of icing, so that was too sweet for me but the actual dough of the doughnut was perfection. It was yeasty, a tiny bit sweet and a tiny bit salty. The balance of flavours and textures was just right. The pastry cream was delicious too. The store was very bright, airy and extremely clean. The bathroom was also spotless. If you're in the west WEST end of GTA, this is definitely a stop you have to make to try out some seriously IG-worthy, aesthetic donuts. I'm going to tell you, don't make a trip out JUST to try donuts (something I would definitely do). It's not one of those places that are worth it for the travel. Ok the donuts are super pretty - they have really interesting flavours. I was amazed to see stuff like mini eggs, lemon meringue, s'mores etc. They are also huge. Literally the size of my hand, if not bigger. I'm talking BIGGGG, y'all. They're pricey but not unreasonable for giant gourmet donuts. The donuts itself were good, but not the best I've ever had - especially not with daddy o's chillin in the west end too. Their dough was soft but their donuts were way too sweet for my personal preference. Some would've been all about it but I got a headache and a slight tummyache after only 1.. ONE! I am a donut monster (I've eaten a dozen donuts in one sitting before - from tims) so to feel that way from one donut really bamboozled me. The mini eggs flavour was chocolately but definitely not as crazy as I expected. The berry one was totally yummy but the taste was more artificially sweet than really 'berry'. If you live in the area go ahead and try it but it's not worth it if you live far and need to travel -there are better gourmet doughnuts elsewhere. Me and my friend visited on a Friday morning and bought the chocolate peanut butter, lemon raspberry, apple fritter and a birthday cookie. Didn't love the filling of the chocolate peanut butter, it tasted like a pudding where I think Nutella would have been better. The lemon raspberry was very good and would recommend. The apple fritter and cookie were lacklustre and we didn't finish them. Lastly, the parking lot is very tight. I went down an alley way which I thought lead to a parking lot but it was a dead end full of cars. It was a nightmare to turn around and get out and I scratched my car doing so. Even worse I saw an employee from the kitchen window laugh and say "so funny". I would have at least appreciated a sign in the parking lot so that the incident could have been avoided. read more

This great donut shop surprisingly doesn't have a lot of reviews but it should because it's well worth the money, calories and time! I actually prefer this donut place over Donut Monster, which opened in recent months. I tried Sunshine Doughnuts last month when I was in the area and it got busy pretty quick on a weekend afternoon. The large donut above the shop is hard to miss and the interior is also really cute. There was a large donut painted on one wall for those Instagram photos and of course, so many trays of colourful fresh donuts against the wall! The staff member that helped us was really friendly and very knowledgeable about each type of donut flavour. Thinking back on the customer service she provided, it really stands in contrast with the lack of customer service we received at Donut Monster this past weekend. Anyway, with her feedback, we got the following donuts: raspberry lemonade, blueberry basil, dulce de leche and strawberry cream. These donuts ranged in price from $3.50 to $4.50 but they are bigger than the ones you get at Tim Horton's and they were all worth it! All of them were delicious, fresh tasting (still moist the next day!) and sweet enough but not disgustingly sweet as some donuts can be. They all tasted the way that you think they would based on the names but again, the fact that they were moist and so fresh makes them stand out. I think that I would get the dulce de leche and raspberry lemonade ones again the next time I come back here, while also trying some of the other flavours. I wouldn't call myself a huge donut connoisseur - I get a craving for them once in a while but this place definitely deserves recognition for the quality of their donuts and great flavours! I ordered lemon flavoured doughnut to which the name I can't remember and also a burly doughnut. I enjoyed the chocolate. However, I thought the lemon was too sweet and not a lot of tang. I did go back again to try other flavours. Over all, I find their baked goods too sweet for me. Drink plenty of water after. I'd return again if I was really craving sugar or I am low in sugar lol. My friend brought over a dozen donuts from Sunshine and they were absolutely amazing. The flavours were all fun and exciting. We ended up cutting all the donuts so that we could try each donut. I am such a fan of this little donut shop! They are fairly new and a little pricey - but the portions of each donut are HUGE and you can easily share with a friend (or not, I am pretty donut-greedy so I wouldn't!) I love the variety of flavours, especially the classic "homer simpson" sprinkle donut. The icing is light and not too sugary. I like that they come up with unique flavours and also that they make all of their donuts fresh daily. Sunshine also has coffee and other drinks to accompany your donut dining pleasure - but be aware that there is no seating inside, as this is basically a store-front type operation. Sunshine is also a tad tough to find if you don't know what you are looking for, it's kind of hidden at the back of a building in a weird part of Burlington (off the main streets) - but just look for the white building with "Sunshine" written on the side in yellow! The only downside is that once they sell out for the day - that's it! Keep your eyes peeled on Sunshine's social media accounts (where they let you know when they sell out), so you don't arrive and be disappointed! read more

It's just dampened by one important thing - customer service who in part is thanks to the staff who resemble very uninterested-in-you high school kids. Where is the owner? There is simply zero customer rapport for a small town business. It's all too bad. The hours are frustrating too. Closing at 4 during a day if nice weather on a Saturday frustrating. Yes, the donuts are good and rival Hamilton's Donut Monster. Go very early to avoid disappointment. Check the hours before going and don't even bother going 2 hrs before closing. I've been denied service at 330 a few times even though they have coffee(?) Hit up Kellys as a very trusty alternate when in doubt on Brant for the full deal - albeit less offerings doughy stuff but HUGE on customer service and sweet treats with a vegan twist. read more

This is such a cute donut place. Very instagrammable with a huge pink sprinkle donut on top of the building. If you go, do NOT attempt to park at the short front side of the building. You will be much better off parking in the huge lot that is adjacent to the store front. I had a hibiscus and pistachio one that was the best thing ever and a lavender earl grey one. So good!! They also offer drinks, but I haven't tried them yet. There are a few tables and chairs as well as bar seating. It fills up pretty fast so don't expect to go and linger forever. It's good for kids and families but it's very busy. Expect to pop in, enjoy your donut and leave. Also, because the donuts are so big you really just need one! The first time I went I ordered 6 to try different ones (not realizing how huge they were) and I was scouting out people to give them out to as they only really last a day. My friend also ordered some smaller ones for a baby shower and those were the perfect size. The only reason I am giving them 4/5 stars is because of subpar customer service. I went with my toddler and my niece and as we were waiting to be served a man pushed behind us (literally! He bumped us all and smushed us up against the counter...umm rude) said "excuse me" and walked right up to the cash and placed his order! And the cashier served him! Even after she witnessed the whole thing go down. It was so rude. I even called it out afterwards and the cashier just said "yah sorry". If I had been by myself I would have asked to speak with a manager but I had my niece with me and she looked mortified that I even said anything about it. So yeah, great donuts. Totally worth it.
