My kids have made friends and seem to like it here. There isn't bus service, but I would have had to drive and pick my kids up either way due to bus driver shortages. This is a small school, and the faculty know everyone and their kids here, which is refreshing compared to a larger school. They also don't give homework, which my kids and I love not having that eat up our afternoons for no reason. They claim to teach a regular curriculum but with an artsy twist, making the learning fun and engaging. As far as how much they actually live up to that claim, my older one indicates that they tend to be lacking in that department. Still, I think we prefer it here to your standard public school.

While the current science lesson would be the phases of matter. Plenty of overlap and reinforcement. My kids LOVE it there. They dont notice the lack of a traditional gymnasium. Teachers are all very nice. Tutoring and special assistance is available for kids that need it. And the parent community is very invovled - and non judgy... because most of us are artists. All these reasons are why I have a third child starting there in the fall.

This is an amazing place! I never worry about my children while they are here. From the teachers to…read morethe administrative staff, everyone is kind, well trained, and thorough. I pick up my children every day better than I left them. From a mom that stayed home with her first child until he was 2. I have never felt very confident about leaving my children under another's care, but I never worry about them at Greensboro Montessori. They love their teachers and their teachers love them. Everything from the curriculum to the manner in which they speak to the children is purposeful and kind. In addition to being well cared for, my 2 children, 3.5 and 1.5, are also learning. My kids have been to other schools and we visited other daycares before we decided on Greensboro Montessori, but none compare. They have a magical formula of learning through exploration and play. They treat children like little explorers and scientists, guiding their play. There is no competitive helicoptery vibe. They simply look for opportunities to tie information into a child's natural exploration. Children explore different "works" rather than cheap toys. They play with sand and water, paint and blocks with the intention of figuring out how we function in the world rather than being "entertained." They also spend a lot of time outside with nature, walking in the nearby woods and gardening which I value tremendously. Children are also encouraged to be independent. Each child is considered at their own level and challenged to do things for themselves in a kind and supportive environment. I was surprised to find when my son started here at 2 all the things that he could do for himself and was eager to do. Everyone needs a purpose and children are the same. This school provides children with a safe and nurturing environment to learn and grow. The school also provides helpful seminars on evidence-based gentle parenting techniques and fosters a real sense of community. There are regular events for all ages and opportunities to participate/volunteer. We considered schools that were more budget, providing diapers and multiple meals and snacks as part of tuition, but none had the level of caring and commitment I feel here. This place isn't simply caring for your children and keeping them alive, but constructively and mindfully creating a complete environment for children to become well rounded, empathic, intelligent people.

I said i needed to understand the process and what they would do (I'm nervous about it getting further damage) but he kept repeating that i refused to bring it back which never was the case. When i spoke to him he referred to using other chemicals to determine the cause of the issue and I'm not necessarily keen on them doing stuff i don't understand at this point. He wanted to overtalk me and not listen. Thats why i don't feel comfortable anymore. Why wouldn't i bring it back if that's how i get made whole? He's not making sense. I feel completely let down by these guys after using them exclusively for at least 4 years. They didn't call me back for 2 weeks after damaging a very expensive garment, insinuated that I'm making it up, and accused me of refusing to bring it back. I would've had no problem doing so had i understood the process/remedy but i don't really want them messing up my stuff even more. When talking to Brett about my apprehensions , he was very dismissive and unprofessional. He even stopped listening and it turned into a confrontation bc he would laugh at me while I'm talking as if my situation is funny. I don't feel comfortable working with him/them anymore. Our home was tidy, but our previous (nationally franchised) maid service seemed to be getting less thorough with each session so the deep clean gave us peace of mind and a great reset. Lucy was wonderful with scheduling us for a time that worked for my family, and we appreciated her flexibility! Yesterday was our deep clean and OH BOY did her team go above and beyond. Lucy and her associate arrived on-time, fully stocked with cleaning products, and great spirits. They spent over five hours in my home scrubbing things until they sparkled. They cleaned items never touched by my old service including ceiling fans and under the couches. Additionally, they were able to remove stains on my walls that I had given up on. The kitchen and 2 1/2 bathrooms have never looked better! Sinks and appliances look brand new despite being almost ten years old. We are very grateful for Lucy and have already set up to be recurring customers. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Give her a chance and skip the national franchises. Unfortunately, the vents and/or install were not up to standard for my home as the vents continuously fell out leaving my home exposed to pest/animals, etc. After an attempt by a Pest X technician to rectify the problem to no avail, I contacted the regional manager Chuck regarding my ongoing problem. Upon contact with Chuck, I immediately felt heard and confident that he would ensure that my problem was rectified. So much so that he (Chuck) made a personal visit to my home to assess the problem. Not only did Chuck send out technicians to rectify my problem with my vents, he sent out a team to reassess and address any pest issues that I may have incurred due to the problem with my vents. Based on my security feed, these tasks took several hours to complete. I remain convinced that Pest X is the "BEST" when it comes to professionalism, timeliness, and most importantly, the "SAFETY" and "WELL-BEING" of their customer and their property. They spend a lot of time outside exploring and playing and inside doing projects and research. We couldn't be happier with the experience at OCCS and the boys love it there too. The only downside is that they follow a school calendar so if you need full time care due to working there are multiple weeks and days off a year to juggle and you need a flexible schedule or back up care.

Clark Family Be aware of hidden policies at this facility…read more My son contracted foot & mouth from this location because their policy is for your child to clean the bathroom if they have an accident when using the bathroom. I have a 4 year old son that doesn't have perfect aim when urinating. Sometimes his urine hits the back of the toilet & the floor near the back of the toilette. Upon picking up my son, his socks (he was still wearing them) were soaked in urine. One of the owners stated that he had to clean the restroom because he urinated on the floor. My son later explains that he cleaned the floor, toilet, and wall area. During his cleaning spree he came in contact with someone else's bowel movement. If this was just his urine he was cleaning, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. But it's a bathroom & there was no guarantee that it's only his urine that he's cleaning. Shortly thereafter I have to take him to his pediatrician & he's diagnosed with foot & mouth. I called Stay n Play & asked for at least one of the owners to call me & I never got a reply. I let the situation go & simply decided not to let my kids use their facilities again. This situation occurred over the summer 2017. This November 2017 I got an email about their sale on childcare hours. On 11/22/17 I simply replied, "Unsubscribe, we will not be using your services." I promptly got a phone call, less than 3 minutes from hitting the send button. The call was from the 2nd owner that was not present when my son cleaned their restroom. She wanted to know what occurred or happened, & proceeded to tell me she tried to call me back over the summer. She clearly knew I tried contacting her, & clearly had my number handy. To shorten this long story, there were 3 adults there that day & not one of them could spray a disinfectant & clean the bathroom up! I'm convinced that my son could have urinated at the back of the toilet but not convinced that he urinated at the front of it where he would be able to soak up urine in his socks. With that said, he was standing in some other kids urine & wore pee soaked socks for the duration of his stay! We'll never know because he's 4 & uses the restroom by himself. I wasn't there & staff wasn't in the restroom with him. The owner stated it's their policy & she has her own 4 year old to clean the bathroom when he misses. The phone call became very childish, she stated "I'm sorry your child pees on the floor." The conversation didn't end well, she started arguing with me & I still wonder why she ever called in the first place. Both owners know & practice this policy. In hindsight I should have contacted the health department & sent my child's medical bills & diagnosis.
