The Sussex Beacon is a centre providing services to help those with HIV/AIDS. As it's a local charity, this must be one of few shops, and it seems very well run. Despite a certain lack of stock when I visited, everything is laid out attractively and what there is has been presented very well. The clothes looked clean and ready to wear too, which is by no means always the case.
The book section was bigger than most and had a few good finds in amongst the recyclables, and the children's fiction seemed particularly strong. There wasn't much on the music front though, which is a shame, although its immediate neighbours more than make up for it on that score.
This is definitely an excellent cause and more than worth supporting, but at this stage I'd be more inclined to donate things to it than buy them from it. read more
