Though there are other pubs they are more expensive (with one never having any real ale at all!) The Two Brewers is located in the heart of Hadlow itself. a short walk up form the shops and you can't miss the place! Those that know their real ale pubs and companies will automatically know one thing from the outside- that this is a Harvey's pub. Upon walking through the doors you turn right into what you would think to be a small bar. Quite the opposite in fact! The owners, Chris and Sue Snape will immediately give you a warm welcome (as will Molly, the pub dog!) The pub itself reminds me of the traditional pubs- the way a pub should be. Let's be honest now, most pubs these days have gotten a little carried away with the deco! The Two Brewers however has achieved something that, pub wise at least, is hard to achieve: remain traditonal but still have that clean fresh look to it. The local's are friendly and very easy to talk to and the pub has nice easy atmosphere to go with it. What is suprising is the amount of beers avaliable- a minimum of two beers on pump at any point (all Harveys, naturally!) with many more bottled beers behind the bar. Make no mistake about it, half the village now come here and its no suprise why! the beers average at around a reasonable £2.90 for the average beer. Remember though that prices will vary according to strength (ABV) but that's how most pubs operate. Foodwise The Two Brewers do a good menu at a reasonable price. The menu changes from time to time, of course and the food is cooked well. The best thing to do is ask at the bar of course! All in all The Two Brewers is a well run pub, with Chris and Sue running a tight ship. I can see this being the busiest pub in Hadlow for a long while to come!

What more could you want from your local? Chris and Sue have given us great beer, superb food,…read morewonderful friendly atmosphere, pub games and a liberal attitude towards closing time! And I haven't even mentioned Molly the pub's resident poodle who is just adorable. A perfect place to come and unwind.

I had the crispy duck rolls which were dry and bland, not sure where the 'crispy' came into it, followed by a sirloin steak that was tougher than a pair of my old boots and then a panacotta which was like a forlorn blob of tasteless paste begging to be put out of its misery. The servers are very pleasing to the eye and seem to be handpicked by someone who knows talent when they see it, but prefer to ignore it and choose young girls who try their best but offer service that is random to say the least. Needless to say, 3 courses plus a reasonable bottle of plonk work out at about 50 quid a head with a service charge (well, they did take photos for me and as I alluded to before, they were not a little pleasing on the eye). The ambience is still very pleasant but I just got the feeling that they were all just going through the motions and taking advantage of the fact that there is a shortage of such eating places in the area now. Such a shame, I Guess I'll go back, but it won't be for the food.

The interior is just like the demeanor of the staff: warm, likeable, and feels like home. In fact, it was incredibly difficult to determine where we wanted to dine, because of the sheer cuteness found in the decor and ambiance of The Grumpy Mole. It was just too damn nice outside to take a beautiful, sunny day in England for granted. So, we opted to sit on their patio and enjoy a near perfect day. Knowing how delicious the curry is in the UK, I opted for that choice and my high expectations were met. The chicken was tender and well prepared. The curry flavor was abound but not overpowering, while the naan and rice were soft, not stale. But the real highlight of the experience was the charcuterie plate packed with meats, cheeses, olives, and more. If only I had the fortune to return to England more often, then I would visit The Grumpy Mole on every visit. For now, I will dream of that day and hope it is on a cold, winters night, where the interior of the Grumpy Mole is cozy and warmed by a crackling fire place, of which I am sitting by while sipping on a piping mug of cider.
