Loves the lady taking orders. She's very patient and full of charisma! The food is good. This is the Taco King to be at as you can get better food and drinks. Would give a solid 2-2.5 / 5 as the water cup fits the establishment but could be nicer and am Rounding up due to the lady's personality.

8/25/21 I was looking for some lunch after I dropped a trailer down the road . I was actually headed to a Chinese restaurant nearby when The Taco King caught my eye so I decided to check them out . The cashier was friendly and my to-go order was ready in just a few minutes . I went with the chicken tacos (Arizona Style) and was not disappointed ! Everything tasted fresh and the chicken had a great flavor to it . Along with the nachos and cheese side , It was a good lunch that hit the spot ! I will be back to The Taco King when I'm back in Albert Lea - I'm thinking maybe Enchiladas next time . .

I got the supreme burrito and topped it with pico de gallo and sour cream. The lady taking orders was very charismatic and got our food started immediately. They even have a drive thru. Got the food within minutes and everything was perfect. The decor was amazing and the even entrance to the restrooms had tasteful old swinging doors. This is the first place I've been good enough for a yelp review. 10/10 spot

Found this place based on Yelp, seeking an alternative to Taco Johns. Very surprised to find this diamond in the rough. I will start with the drive through. The menu is just a list that does not say what is in the dishes, but we cross referenced photos on Yelp and asked. The food was ready surprisingly quickly. We each got different burritos - Slicy El Mexicana with shredded chicken for me, the Deluxe with ground beef and California with shredded beef for my wife and daughter. Burritos were large and covered in sauce and light cheese. Sides were reformed beans and rice.even my rice was spicy and my nose started running (a good thing). Nice burn. We all give the food five stars. We sat in the social distanced outside table on the side of the drive through, separate from the other tables. It is completely shaded and has a fountain full of yellow rubber duckys. Great vibe. Loved it. I got a peak of the inside and was surprised people were eating in and not using the outdoor tables. Maybe it was the heat, but with the pandemic, deal with it. It is a great find and very close to the 35. Highly recommend.

A friend and u were returning from Iowa I remembered that Taco King was on the way to Mpls/St.Paul so we stopped in. We were not disappointed. We both had the enchilada plate and enjoyed every single bite. My friend got a second enchilada plate to go and we resumed out trip home Always try to stop by if I am in the area.

First time stopping in Albert Lea to eat. Stopped in for some tacos to go. They menu offers quite a bit of options. Wish they had a taco only menu. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well taken care off. The gal working the counter was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the toppings bar at the counter. Wish more places had this. My taco were very tasty and had a good amount of meat. I wasn't sure how to rate this. My tacos were very good with fast service. However, the prices are too steep. I had two tacos that are on the small side and a can of soda. It was over $8.00. The other prices seemed high for what you got. Overall is was good but wouldn't make this a regular stop for lunch do to the prices.

OH MY SO GOOD! Business travel brought us to this small town which we thought was going to have nothing good to eat, WRONG! The Taco King is set up to be running the market on some great, homemade, authentic Mexican food. Habanero salsa that was fresh and great heat! Folks, you all know I'm tough on places but the Taco King has great environment, DELICIOUS food, and AWESOME staff, family owned!!! Keep up the great job!

    The enchilada burrito plate

The staff was friendly! We tried the kids cheese quesadillas, the burrito with white queso with a taco combo and the enchilada burrito plate. Presentation was great and everything tasted authentic. Would go back!

Great, fast authentic Mexican food! Excellent service. My only regret is that I don't live here to come here weekly. Highly recommend.

I was hoping for something authentic but as it turns out it's fast food and cafeteria grade food at that.

Stopped here on a road trip and it was delicious. The pastor tacos are some of the best I've had in the US. I highly recommend!

Is it like Worcestershire sauce and the name is pronounced completely differently from how any reasonably intelligent person would expect? Truly, a mystery for the ages. As a business traveler, eating healthy on the road can be challenging. A burrito here isn't the healthiest thing, but by comparison to the Pizza Ranch directly behind this place, it's like gobbling Dexatrim. If you have never been to any of these types of places, it follows the "point and shuffle" format where you move along a cafeteria style ingredient bar and point at everything you want in your burrito or other dish. Service is quite fast, as the server needs only to slop a spoonful of each ingredient on your tortilla or into a dish. I saved the best for last: the amenities! This place has electrical outlets! Glorious 120 volt AC electricity! As a professional on the road for work, this is a luxury that I rarely get to enjoy when dining and working. My laptop has one of the most power hungry GPUs known to mankind: the ravenous RTX 5000, which eats battery life like Pac-Man eats dots. When it's time to get some work done after eating, having electrical power right at my table makes my life less stressful. I can focus on my work and not be stressed out about how long my battery will last. This place is awesome.
