Stellar bar! Huge selection of beer! The flights of 3 beers was only 5£ which is such a great price for quality beers! Then we ordered what I would call a platter of gluttony - 4 tapas style bar food favs and heaping pile of chips! Damn good though! What fun! Lots of food for a great price. This place had such a great vibe. The servers were all incredibly friendly and personable. They helped us decide on great beers and eats. This is MUST if you're a beer lover. Lots of gems on the menu.

Looked up on Yelp for best brew pubs around St. Pauls and this gem came up. Was walking back to my hotel near covent gardens, turned off Strand street and found this place with people spilling out the door. Walked into the bar and went down a flight of stairs to find a bunch of candle lit tables full of fellow thirsty customers. Ordered a Crate Brewery IPA at the suggestion of the bartender...very good. Note: they let you sample before buying. Asked them for suggestions on a dinner selection as well after narrowing it down to Fish and Chips, burger, or pie of the day. The bartender suggested I try the shepherd's pie, so I did. Great choice; the crust was flakey with an awesome filling of beef, gravy and veggies. The mashed potatoes were flavorful, and paired with my IPA made for a great meal. The ambience is really nice mixing the traditional pub vibe with good music and a hip feel. I would have stayed longer, but Convent Gardens was calling me. Add this to your pub crawl in London along with the Cheshire Cheese.

What a find! Bf and I went here after receiving an email from Mr Hyde about local London brewery's and before we went out for dinner after work It was only 6pm but already very busy - not many places to sit so we stood at the bar and eventually got a few bar stools A great selection of beers including their beers brewed on site. Also the option of getting a paddle which lets you try 3 different drinks - each a 1/3 of a pint I tried 3 of their own beers and all were delicious! Will definitely be going back!

I stumbled into Temple Brewhouse during a search for a Christmas Party venue, and, boy, so glad that happened! We didn't end up booking the place, but I made sure to try it out as soon as I could. The beer selection is fantastic - always changing, always interesting, and always featuring a few local breweries. They also have a paddle option you can get for £4-£5 so you can try three different beers that are 1/3 pint each. It's a lot of fun bringing the paddle back to the group and hearing everyone ooh and ahh and ask which beers you're trying! The staff are friendly, efficient, and have always given me spot-on recommendations. It helps as well that they play actual GOOD music, so even if it can be loud depending on where you're sitting/standing, your ears will at least be very pleased. I actually also love the crowd that comes in. It feels unpretentious, casual, jovial - just the place to go to unwind with some of your colleagues and/or friends after work. I don't think this is a perfect 5, but it definitely has a lot going for it. I think it is one of the best pubs in its area, though, so I've gone with the 5. Tip: You can book tables for groups, so if you know there will be quite a few of you, might be worth booking so you can get seats and a table.

I absolutely adored this stop! Visiting London from Texas and was looking for a spot with some good craft beer. We were a little hungry so we decided to share a burger. I'm so thankful we decided to try the menu. The burger was outstanding, the mac and cheese delicious, and the fries were perfection. I cannot say enough good things about the menu. The beer selection is fantastic too! We had two flights of beer, you can pick any 3 per flight for 5 pounds. Not to mention the atmosphere was so relaxed and the decor was very cool. Each table had a candle lit and was so great! I will be coming back here someday! Highly recommend if you're from out of town to visit here.

We found this underground wonderland thanks to Yelp. So, thanks to all those Yelpers who have reviewed the Temple Brewhouse! You have to navigate your way down some fairly unprepossessing stairs but then you find yourself in an underground happy place. A range of seating areas, beer a-plenty and a very relaxed vibe. This is definitely one to explore further in the future...and tours of the brewing process are available. Interesting.

Given the location, I knew it was probably a tourist trap and I wish to avoid those usually but had no time so stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I'm so glad I did! I was in London only briefly and had yet to try proper fish and chips and I was definitely WOW'd. I've only had this in America, and this was definitely better than anything I've ever had. When it arrived on my table, I could feel the heat from the plate -- that's how scalding hot and fresh it was, and I loved that! The cod was absolutely massive, a thick portion of fish deep fried with the skin on within an incredibly crunchy beer batter. There were pieces of bone in it, but no bother, this only made it seem more fresh. The chips (thick cut fries) were perfectly crispy and both the fish and chips were insanely delicious with a bit of salt and malt vinegar (which I had to request by walking up to the bar). The dish came with a tartar sauce and ketchup, but tasted way better with the salt and vin. I absolutely love that the fish and chips also came with mushy peas, whereas most pubs only give you fish and chips alone. The dish was also very well priced at 9.95 GBP, and I was able to use my credit card, rounded up to 10 GBP because they have a 10 GBP minimum for using cards. I appreciate that this restaurant had free wi-fi, which I found out by asking my waiter, who quickly provided the secret code for me to use. In America you would never ask your server for this but I noticed that nearly every hotel and restaurant I visited during my 11-day tour of Europe offered wi-fi. Good on them, because how else would I check in to a restaurant on Yelp and shower them with praise and circulate promotional foodie photos on Instagram? During a weekday, many workers nearby flood this place to grab a pint during lunch....now, why don't I work in London? I would give this place five stars based on the food alone, but I am giving it four because I wished the service had been more attentive, as I had to go up to the bar to get malt vinegar and also to ask to pay my bill. I understand service in Europe is more laissez-faire than in America, but since this is a tourist spot I would have liked to be checked on by the staff at least once during my meal, and certainly to be presented with the bill. Note: They also serve Sunday roast dinner for 9.95 GBP on Sundays

Being from the states I am not as familiar with all the UK brands --- but they seem to offer a wide variety of beers (lots on tap) and cocktails. TIP: I recommend hitting this place before 5:30 on the weekdays as the happy hour crowd fills this join up.

We arrived just after the work day, and the crowd was buzzing just outside. We did the self-seating option indoors, and sat down to a great view of the Thames river, as we pondered our meal choices from the menu. The location is just great. For a leadoff drink, I had to go with the house cask ale, which was the Fuller's ESB, a drink I've been enjoying since the 1990's, and it delivered as expected. I went with an order of Sausages with mashed potatoes and peas...it doesn't get much more classic than that, and I was happy with it, especially with the quantity (3 sausages!). Wifey was on the hunt for a meat pie, and she went with the Steak, Ale & Mushroom Pie, which I can report was wholeheartedly approved. One of the better pies we've had on the overall trip, and the best we had at a pub location. The overall vibe of this pub is exactly as you might picture it, and we weren't disappointed with any aspect. Service, though not overly patient (hey - they were busy), was competent and pleasant. Cheers!
