The vibe is chill with champagne. The nail tech Zandra help me decide on my nail color that complements my skin tone. She made a new nail art on me nails which I looked for inspiration and she made it happend. She did also my pedicure. The prevoius review was wrong with me saying i did the pedicure.hehehe.

Horrible! This is a picture of my toes at 10:30pm! I got my toes done this morning at 11:30 am! How long does it take for polish to dry?! I wore shoes and socks around 7:30pm! I wore flip flops out of the salon and all day in my room. I paid $50 for this regular polish pedicure. I was originally going to get gel but they said gel was $70!! Awful experience!

Kandice was my nail technician today and this was my first visit the the nail bar. I really like the added touch of hand massage with oil and lotion and hot towel elements of the gel manicure. The salon is clean and sanitizes well. I also like that the salon uses new files and buffers per customer. I will return.

I am very picky about where I get my pedis but I love this place! My nail tech did a fantastic job on my feet and my pedicure was great. We got complimentary champagne too which adds to the bougie experience that I'm always looking for! It's hard to just walk in though because they are always booked so call in advance! They are on the pricey side, like 70 bucks for a pedicure if you want shellac so prepare for that! Overall, would definitely recommend!

I truly wanted to give this location a better review and even thought second about leaving a review because i knew i didn't have a good experience. Pros: -I LOVE that its a black owned business. its one of two locations. -The atmosphere is extremely well done and I felt like i was in LA somewhere . Super clean, modern, sexy, and sophisticated. - The booking of the appointments were simple and easy - social distancing was in place Cons: -Had a 2pm appointment and didn't get sat until 2:30 and the process started until 2:45. -the manicurist's just kind of sat down and started. I didn't feel there was great customer service. -during the pedicure she went entirely too rough and when going in between my toes made one of my toes bleed. -over priced for the experience All in all i wish them the best of luck, but i didn't enjoy my experience and won't come back.

After nail salons being closed for months, I decided to treat myself to services at a trendy salon. I chose the Ten Nail Bar. I enjoyed the ease of the online scheduling process. It was easy, quick and no deposit was required. I arrived at my appointment and was lucky to score a parking spot on busy Woodward Ave, right in front of the salon. (Parking is metered. Use the Park Detroit app for convenience, instead of hunting for coins.) I was greeted upon entering the modern establishment. I sat and waited for my appointment and thought to myself that at the least, an iced cold bottle of water would have been nice for this price point. My services included a full gel set w/tips and a Power Detox Foot Treatment. ($108 total) My nail tech was nice enough. I enjoyed the chat. However, I was disenchanted with the service and end result. My poor fingers are in pain several hours later. She filed the skin on the side of my nails so much that she cut me three times. She got my skin pretty good, but missed several areas of the nail, which are so jagged that I am snagging my clothing. The shapes of my nails are uneven and misshapen. My toes look amazing, however, I would have loved is a longer soak and more pampering. I likely will not return, unfortunately.

I had a wonderful experience here. I've wanted to support this Black-owned business in the city, but they don't do my go-to dip powder manicures. But I was in the neighborhood yesterday, and needed my first post-winter pedicure. So I stopped in, and they were able to accept me as a walk-in. The space is just gorgeous, and it was a very pampering process. Will continue to get my dip powder elsewhere, but this place will become my go to for pedicures.

    Beautiful professional pedicure.

Although Scheduling online is a joke, but both times my pedicure service has been excellent!! Danielle & Taylor are master technicians

This review is to make sure no one gets their nails done from here! I've been getting my hard gel done in California for over a year. I get one fill from this place and my nail beds are completely destroyed! Besides my nails looking like jelly beans she also really hurt me nail bed. Let the pictures speak for themselves.

I can't believe how much better I feel! I feel transformed. I will definitely be a regular here! My friend gave me a gift card to come here and I'm so happy she found this place. Beautiful spa!! The vibes are so good. They offer a variety of treatments and have different rooms. (I look forward to coming back to get my nails done.) The lobby is very nice with lots of beverage options and a pristine bathroom. Brooklyn's massage room had everything: relaxing music, aromatherapy, warm lighting, heating pad on the massage table. Brooklyn is so kind and attentive. Since I was a new client, we had a lovely talk before the treatment started to discuss my body issues and get a plan. She really got all the knots out of my body. I really appreciated how we started and ended the session with 3 deep breaths and breathing in essential oils. I believe it was eucalyptus oil. So nice! I have been looking for a massage therapist and now I found her. I will definitely be a regular of Brooklyn's. I highly recommend coming here.

Always looking for my go to eyebrow spot. And I think I found it!…read more Booking online was super easy and simple. I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

Those red splotches after waxes that I thought were just part of getting waxed? Nonexistent with Katie. I am genuinely convinced she is magic because I never knew a wax could be this painless before AND after! Also as a gal who has always struggled with intense ingrown hairs, ones that doctors told me could only be fixed with laser, I was stunned when Katie took the time to get all of them out and coached me on how to prevent them in the future, truly above and beyond! She's is the most thorough esthetician I've ever been to, and she creates such a warm and welcoming environment that I am actually looking forward to my next wax!

This was the closest place to my house (5 min walk) so I decided to go here despite the negative reviews. They got the job done, but she definitely overcharged me. Nail removal is priced at $5, and a manicure at $12, so my total should have been $17. She charged me $20. I didn't really put up much of a fight, based on reviews - they are rude and I didn't want to deal with it for just $3 extra. It's not about the money, it's just about being overcharged that annoyed me. I really wanted to just get out of there, so I paid the $20 and left. Got a basic manicure, they could've been filed better, but because I was in a rush I'm ok with it. The inside is not that great, it seemed clean enough though, but like other reviewers have said, it lacked ambience. Also they use these mini fans to dry your nails as opposed to the nail dryers you usually see at other salons. Another thing I would suggest is to bring your own nail color - they were majorly lacking in the color selection. Most of them were off brand and looked like they haven't been used in years. I didn't want to pay for a crappy color, so I just picked the first China Glaze color I saw because I figured it would look better than all the other brands you'd probably find at a $1 store. Overall, it got the job done for my desperate needs, but due to lack of ambience, nail color selections, and being overcharged, I will not be returning.
