Rita was very accommodating for my pedicure today and she was thorough as well as kind and she did a great job. The Salon is why I gave four instead of five I understand being cashless but only being able to tip via Zelle or cash app was not preferred as I don't have Zelle and that was the option for tips and I never carry cash.I've seen cashless places who offer services like this have a secondary system for tips that you can leave a review and tip on a machine maybe something like that would help. I also wish they had a hot towel or something for your legs as part of the pedicure they may have this as part of an upgraded service but I was late and not given the options for any add one. I was also not offered coffee or water and I saw other patrons with them. This is my new fav Detroit nail spa! The salon has no acrylic or chemical smell. The staff are very professional, friendly, and well trained. My only complaint is that they don't have massage chairs. I'll also admit that the nail techs are meticulous, so your service will take the entire time estimated as shown when you book your appointment (plan accordingly!). You can enjoy the time spent while sipping on complimentary champagne. You will be happy with the time they spend on your nails to give you the PERFECT service! Money well spent! Man I really was hoping to give 5 stars but..... My number #1 reason for visiting this place was because it is black owned. The environment and aesthetics are very modern and appealing. Definitely gives a grown/sexy and luxury vibe. My appointment was scheduled for 815AM. This was my only off day. I did not sit down and get started until after 9AM. My tech was late and so was the tech servicing my friend. We sat there and had 3 glasses of champagne. The manicurist was very dry and distant. The customer service component was kinda missing. Also they did not use the plastic lining in water bowls at the pedicure station-- which was unsanitary to me. I think with some minor improvements this place has a lot of potential. read more

I booked a pedicure with my fiancé and requested we had the same time so we could get one together. Upon our arrival, they informed us that we would not be able to sit next to each other which was a bummer considering we wanted this to be a little date day. I also had Brianna as my nail tech and was very confused because towards the end of the service, she put my shoes on (I have sandals) and painted my toes with sandals on. All the other girls around me had toe spacers and got the UV light on nails. Mine just painted from my sandals and then said I'm all set. No drying time. No UV light. Once I got up and walked out, I noticed my toes has smudged on the side of my sandals and my pinky toes are ruined and my one big toe is ruined. My feet don't even feel soft either. It just felt like she was really lazy and didn't wanna work. Horrible! This is a picture of my toes at 10:30pm! I got my toes done this morning at 11:30 am! How long does it take for polish to dry?! I wore shoes and socks around 7:30pm! Pros: -I LOVE that its a black owned business. its one of two locations. -The atmosphere is extremely well done and I felt like i was in LA somewhere . Super clean, modern, sexy, and sophisticated. - The booking of the appointments were simple and easy - social distancing was in place Cons: -Had a 2pm appointment and didn't get sat until 2:30 and the process started until 2:45. -the manicurist's just kind of sat down and started. After nail salons being closed for months, I decided to treat myself to services at a trendy salon. I chose the Ten Nail Bar. I enjoyed the ease of the online scheduling process. It was easy, quick and no deposit was required. I arrived at my appointment and was lucky to score a parking spot on busy Woodward Ave, right in front of the salon. (Parking is metered. Use the Park Detroit app for convenience, instead of hunting for coins.) I was greeted upon entering the modern establishment. I sat and waited for my appointment and thought to myself that at the least, an iced cold bottle of water would have been nice for this price point. My services included a full gel set w/tips and a Power Detox Foot Treatment. ($108 total) My nail tech was nice enough. I enjoyed the chat. However, I was disenchanted with the service and end result. My poor fingers are in pain several hours later. She filed the skin on the side of my nails so much that she cut me three times. She got my skin pretty good, but missed several areas of the nail, which are so jagged that I am snagging my clothing. The shapes of my nails are uneven and misshapen. My toes look amazing, however, I would have loved is a longer soak and more pampering. I likely will not return, unfortunately. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I've wanted to support this Black-owned business in the city, but they don't do my go-to dip powder manicures. But I was in the neighborhood yesterday, and needed my first post-winter pedicure. So I stopped in, and they were able to accept me as a walk-in. Will never come here again! Made an appointment for mani pedi for 2 people. I was going to be late so I called to ask if it's okay to still come. The receptionist told me it's okay to come, so we did. They rushed us so much during color selection. Then they told me they can't do the pedicure because I didn't tell them my mom has gel on that needs to be removed. Isn't that usually a given that the customer has some kind of polish on their nails. The two technicians started hovering over us when we were selecting colors. There is no color palette so you have to choose the color from the wall and it takes time. I asked to be given a bit of time and space. Then the receptionist approaches me in a rude fashion, and asked me if everything is OK. I should've left but regrettably I didn't. They don't trim the cuticles, because it's apparently not natural to do that. They try to run a natural nail salon. I don't understand what part of nail polish and gel is natural? It's a joke. I was staying with her in the downtown area, so my GPS automatically took me to the Griswold location. We were approached and provided PROFESSIONAL services far beyond our expectations. The salon is clean and beautiful. I was pleased with the steps provided to ensure my ha da and feet were presentable. I booked a nail art design (extra $50) and was up front in booking about the design I wanted. when calling I was sure to ask for a tech that can do nail art so that it wouldn't be an issue. when I arrived, my tech had no clue that she would be doing a design and seemed absolutely put off by the pictures even though I had described in detail what I wanted when booking the appointment. My tech did not tell me their name, and did not try to make conversation the entire time. I felt unwelcome and like a burden more than anything, and kept apologizing even though I was paying for the service and extra for the design too. Honestly, I should have listened to the Yelp reviews instead of the google ones. Most google reviews were amazing, attesting to the services years ago, but now, they aren't up the cost of services they charge. I went in for my first time and the vibes are great, the salon is very clean and beautiful. I was originally rescheduled because there wasn't enough staff to fulfill my services the day before. I said fine because I figured I would get better service on a day that short staff wasn't stressed trying to fulfill appointments. I finally go in, and the services performed left my upset and needing to look for another place to fix their mess. Firstly, they don't warn you that it's a dry manicure. Everyone knows that they leave your cuticles cracking even worse even if the gel polish lasts a little longer. Every team member has to bring in their own tools and my nail tech wasn't even prepared, only an old nail brush that looked dirty and used and a nail file that was already used up. In this establishment, with these prices, you would expect them to provide everything for their staff so services are consistent in quality. Even one of her co-nail techs, next to her, was trying to help her by offering her own tools, but my nail tech brushed it off. My cuticles were cracked, my natural nails misshaped - even after guidance - and my gel polish rubbing every piece of lint on them. I was offered a complimentary manicure service but after spending 2 hours and 40 mins, why would I want to go back just to receive the same service? My pedicure was blamed for the length but the mask add on (that should be five minutes) doesn't compare to the quality of spa pedicures I've gotten elsewhere in less time. I'm so upset, I feel like I wasted $110 (even after I voiced my concerns and was given a lousy $12 off), and I don't know how other people are but $110 is a lot of money to lose on services that need to be redone elsewhere. I asked for one stamp on my nails and she tried about 10 times and could not do it. For the price that you pay and the time that you spend IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I live in capitol park area so I decided to give them one more try years later because I just needed a simple service. I made an appointment over the phone. The person on the line NEVER told me she was making the appointment at the midtown location. There has been a pandemic, I didn't even know they had established another location! I am knocking on the door and looking through the window. I get a call from the receptionist and she tells me they are waiting at the other location. I reluctantly get in my car and drive. I am finally on the SAME BLOCK as the salon looking at it and they call me and say I am at my 15 min window so they cannot do my nails! SHE KNEW I WAS ON THE WAY AND IT WAS SNOWING! The ten nail bar started its decline before the so called pandemic. I have experienced so much deviousness with this business its ridiculous. They have cultivated a low vibe atmosphere. The staff has lied on several occasions, the owners are hiring unlicensed manicurists, allegedly. The staff is not allowed to build a clientele, they will switch the client if they see a pattern. The turnover is so high, they run off good employees. The staff is harassed and micromanage with the camera system. I tried to ignore the rumors, at this point Im done. Went to The Ten for the first time on Sunday and was wildly disappointed. I'm a Detroit resident and support Detroit businesses as often as possible, but for the price and service I cannot return to The Ten. I scheduled an appointment for myself and my partner - there was confusion about the appointment and upon my treatment starting my nail technician and another were complaining about the receptionists not knowing what they were doing. Then, as the appointment continued, my technician was so busy watching the TV behind her that she was not even touching my feet for multiple minutes at a time. She then carried on conversations with another tech throughout the treatment and continued complaining about colleagues throughout.
