    Shellac Manicure

I've been coming to Royal Oak Nails for about 8 years now. I'm extremely picky about how my nails are done and they do an amazing job every single time. The shop has recently gotten new chairs, painted, and has a ton of new services for pedicures. I'd highly recommend Royal Oak Nails, I've always been happy with my service!

Poorly painted nails with bubbles that appears while I was in the chair. Tech did nothing to fix them.

I requested a simple manicure as some self-care. I work in healthcare and cannot wear gel nails, so it had to just be a "regular" manicure for me. Unfortunately, Royal Oak nails did not deliver the quality that their yelp reviews tout. I left with awfully shaped nails, a paint job that rivals my toddler's, and bubbles that rose to the top of the paint even before I left the shop. Treat each customer with dignity and respect, even when not requesting your most expensive service. Some of us cannot wear gel nails to work but still want the "treat" of a manicure.

I'm a frequent customer here because It's close to where I live and they have a great color selection. This is 4 out of 5 stars for a few reasons: 1) poor consistency. If you're lucky with a good nail tech, you'll get someone who is thorough with nail shape and texture of polish. Otherwise the work is often sloppy. 2) aggressiveness. Some nail techs here will have you walk out with bleeding cuticles. 3) this is new, but the last time I got shellac removed a few days ago, I noticed the aluminum foil was being reused and it gave me the ick. Not sure if they hygienic at all. Had I known, I would've requested her to grab a new set of cut outs but I figured it out too late. Not all nail techs do this btw. Seems just one. 4) pricing is as expected these days. I do shellac polish change for finger nails only and it comes out $30 which is criminal but average for nail salons. TIP: make sure you have cash on you because they don't accept putting the tip on the credit card. This is a hassle. They do have an ATM machine but like come on... make a venmo.

    Classic Gentlemen Manicure

I get a basic gentleman's manicure (no gel, paint, or coating) with a buff. I am very "tender-handed" especially when it comes to shaping and my cuticles, in addition I like zero growth and the shape to be as circular or oval as possible. I will say my first visit was impeccable. The guy that checked me in was friendly and fun, and after I made my concerns with him, he chose Lisa because she is experienced and has very light touch. My tech went completely old school meaning she even did the buff by hand, not with the rotary tool, to ensure my comfort. My nails weren't "as rounded as I like", so she kept adjusting them until I was satisfied. She was polite then entire time and the wrist and arm massage was just the right pressure. I am a barber for 25 years and she made my banged up mitts feel brand new. Thanks you, I would definitely recommend.

I have always loved my nails/toes here. My pedicure last a while with no chipping! Staff has always been kind.

Really bummed to report that is wasn't even a week and my nails had cracks in them and now not even a week and a half and they're chipped. They looked soo good those first few days, it's so sad they didn't last :(

Friendly staff and good atmosphere so I feel bad but this is horrible.. I don't think my nails were prepped and if they were I'm not sure what happened but they look terrible

    Mail polish job.
    Nicole K.

Cons: Not worth the money for the poor quality. Did not fully take off my prior nail polish (see picture). Overall poor quality and rushed job. The scrub was painful. The nail polish must have been old because of the poor-quality way it went on and after an hour did not dry properly. Ordered basic paint and it was $50 for mani-pedi plus had to tip in cash. Used foot cheese-grater like scrapers which can potentially spread infection and are (as some sources on the internet would suggest) banned for health reasons. Pros: Most staff members were kind enough. Person at front desk who may have been a manager was kind and welcoming.

Do not waste your time or money going here. I came in to get chrome gel nails with tips and they charged me $75. I was fine with that at the time because when I left, they looked fine. However, within less than one week, all of my nails began to chip and come off. In the photo, you can see the first nail tip that broke off, just a few days after getting them done simply by opening a car door. Within a week, all of the tips that they had "glued" on had completely come off and the majority of the gel polish left on my fingers had chipped and come off as well. They were done horribly and it is clear that they did not put in any effort or time. When I called to explain the situation, they did absolutely nothing to rectify the horrible job they did.

What a lovely experience at Royal Oak Nails. After reading the reviews, I contemplated between this place and another nail salon in the area. But, I must say, Royal Oak Nails did not disappoint. Parking was easy, breezy. With street parking as well as an array of parking lots that are currently FREE while under construction. I called ahead of time and made an appointment with a young lady named, Naomi. Once parked, I was delightfully surprised to walk-into the salon and be greeted by a nice woman. Within minutes, I was escorted to station 5, where Naomi did an AMAZING JOB on my nails. First time getting "Almond Nails". Personally, I think they look great! I chose the Bubble Bath by OPI and the color definitely complimented my olive skin tone. For $45 for DIP Powder, I believe this salon is priced just right, they have an array of colors to choose from, and the staff is very pleasant. I HIGHLY recommend coming here if your new to the area OR just looking for a new nail salon to call home. Ask for Naomi and call ahead, this place is BUSY!

Jessica is literally the best at nail art! This was my third time working with her for nail art and I loved the design she did for me before my trip to Tulum. I received sooo many compliments on my nails and would definitely recommend working with her!

Beautiful french manicure! Nails look flawless! Only place I ever go to get my nails done. You won't be disappointed!!

I have been coming here for 10+ years and I love this place! This is the only place I go for manicures and pedicures! Whenever anyone asks where I go I always recommend them. I never leave here disappointed. My nails look phenomenal every time I leave. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly! I got my nails done here last weekend for my wedding and they turned out perfect like always! I must say I love the hand massage and foot/calf massage at the end of the manicure and pedicure. Tam #8 is my go to girl! Love her !!

I've been coming here for a couple months now and I am impressed! I always get a dip mani. My nails always last two weeks without chipping or cracking. The salon is always busy but Tina and her staff are accommodating multitaskers!

Day one of getting my dip. I love them

Sunday hours are great. As a guy who likes his nails done, it was a comfortable, no judgement establishment.

Do they accept Apple Pay? What are they prices like?

No they do not. They do take credit cards, but prefer cash. Their prices are on average for salon services. They are not the cheapest (by only a few dollars), but they do a really good job, and include all of the "add-ons" that other salons…

Always looking for my go to eyebrow spot. And I think I found it!…read more Booking online was super easy and simple. I have always wanted to know what was inside that building/house especially with that gorgeous curved front door. Passed it so many times on University. Parking was easy and nice to have designated parking spots for Bare Philosophy. Walked in and had no idea that you had to take your shoes off. I get for cleanliness sake and winter bringing water/salt, but I wasn't expecting it. I walked in and noticed another patron standing inside with her socks on so I followed suit. I didn't notice behind me that they provide slides to wear after you take off your shoes. There was no staff downstairs so no one to greet me or give instructions. There was a sign that said they were short staffed and to help yourself. It was the day before Christmas Eve. Really pretty inside and welcoming. Lots of areas to look at product. There was a coffee machine. Old historical charm throughout! The other client got brought back and I just was standing around. I finally heard someone in the foyer area and was checked in at that point and brought back to a large room for my eyebrow appointment. We spoke a bit about eyebrow shape and how she likes to keep things natural/follow your natural shape. Can always take off more later if I wanted. I think my eye wax was all of five minutes. Trimming, a few strips of waxing, and then tweezing and that's it. Let me have a look in the mirror and I was happy for the most part. I should've asked to trim my eyebrows a little more. But overall content with the shape. I wish there was something to put on my skin afterwards to calm it down since I get red easily. Again, the whole process was super quick, didn't feel overly personalized with an eye brow shaping/waxing but the job got done. The staff who did my brows was very nice and we made conversation throughout my service. I felt comfortable and no pain with the waxing/tweezing. Afterwards, she checked me out and you can give a tip on a card. $20 is a fair price for an eyebrow wax, what I was paying for at another place in the area.

Those red splotches after waxes that I thought were just part of getting waxed? Nonexistent with Katie. I am genuinely convinced she is magic because I never knew a wax could be this painless before AND after! Also as a gal who has always struggled with intense ingrown hairs, ones that doctors told me could only be fixed with laser, I was stunned when Katie took the time to get all of them out and coached me on how to prevent them in the future, truly above and beyond! She's is the most thorough esthetician I've ever been to, and she creates such a warm and welcoming environment that I am actually looking forward to my next wax!
