All but 3 books here are from The Thrifty Peanut!

I love this used bookstore!! They had so many books on my list to read (mystery/thriller) at very good prices. They have some priced as low at $1, up to about $12.99. I picked up 13 books there (a lot of hardbacks) and only spent $50!

The store breaks down roughly to history, sci-fi, religion and dogs on the second floor, and romance and cookbooks on the first floor. A good, not great, selection.

Amazing book about an amazing individual! This book is fantastic, motivational and inspirational! I highly recommend it!

Super overpriced and just not a fun store. Everything is organized relatively well, but it's still overwhelming wall to wall books.

Awesome independent bookstore. Charming and lots of of stuff to browse through. Not many bookstores like this anymore, it's a gem.

They really don't buy back much, if you're trying to unload your cd or dvd collection. They only really want the newest of releases it seems and mostly, even then, they offer you back a mere pittance in return, making you feel like an early 19th century British beggar wandering the store for alms when you're trying to peddle your wares. "Alms, sir?...Alms?...Alms for the cd, kind sir?...Alms for the dvd to feed a kind, gentle and yet meager young lad, sir?...Alms?" This is a great store to waste some time in, but it is not the store in which to get your bankroll back on Seasons 1-5 of "Desperate Housewives" dvd collection that you bought at Sam's Club back in February... I'm just saying...

I can only pray that this review turns the tide... Not a fantastic music store, but the best one in town by a long shot. Cheap used vinyl, which is good--I own the entire Steely Dan catalog because of this store (with the exception of "Can't Buy A Thrill", every copy of which I find looks like it's been underwater since 1976), for which I am forever grateful. The problem of course is that they were very overpriced when it came to used CDs--who is going to spend eight dollars on a used Folk Implosion album? Someone, perhaps, but not me. Not that it matters, of course: no one buys CDs anymore anyway. The last time I set foot inside, there was a 60 year old woman looking for a Skid Row EP, which sadly illustrates what most of their clients were like. Ah life. The store is closing soon.

I could spend hours in this place! They have crates upon crates of old records, just begging to be pawed through. While most of them are in somewhat alphabetical order, there are even more crates tucked under tables in no real order most of the time, just waiting for someone to find an undiscovered gem. And they always have a great selection of DVD's...and even Blu-ray discs now! I always like seeing what new stuff they have, because the good stuff will always go fast. Their prices are excellent for everything--most of the DVD's are under $10, even ones that are fairly new. Some of the video games for the newer consoles you can find slightly cheaper elsewhere...but sometimes you'll find a hard to find game for a great price. It all depends on what they have in stock. They also take trade ins for pretty much anything. I took in a pile of old DVD's recently and got $30 store credit! That's way more than what I probably would have gotten at Hastings, that's for sure. And the staff are always very nice and helpful. This is definitely one of my favorite places to look around and spend money in.
