Wall to wall books- very organized. The staff were all super helpful. You could pretty much find anything you wanted or needed. This is one of my favorite places in Shreveport. My husband and I could spend half the day looking through this place. If you build up your credit account, the cost is even better. They have many different selections of books and the people who work there are great!!!! I'm dumbfounded by some of the 1 star reviews but you can't please everyone I guess. This has to be the very best bookstore in the Shreveport, Bossier area! They have more books than they have shelves for (and they have a lot of shelves). Books on every subject, and lots of them. I'm a big fiction reader and I've never left the store without finding something great to read. The prices are well below any other used bookstore and the quality and condition of the books can't be beat. This is the one stop shop for book lovers. read more

I have been shopping and trading books here for years and love this store. Great place to spend time and find real treasures. My friends and I shopped here often after we met for coffee. Sure will miss it. I will not go back in the store until Covid is long gone and I will advise my friends to do the same. The young man working behind the counter was not wearing a mask and neither were several customers. It is not that hard to put a piece of cloth across your face to help others. If they can't protect my health while I am in their store, I won't go in their store. Very plain and very simple. I would like to be able to help this business survive the pandemic, but I will not risk my life to do it. read more

The thrifty peanut is by far my favorite place to go to for books. Their prices are amazing and as is their selection. As a teenager it's hard to find a good place to go to to get " teen " books at reasonable prices. And the staff are all extremley nice! This is my favorite place to shop for books and have a friendly conversation..Family owned and huge selection of books and cd's and dvd's and albums. Not to mention the awesome religious section upstairs where I always find inspiration. They have donated books to me to pass on to patients where I work. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Their business strategy is horrible and terribly misleading. If you trade books, they are 'too busy' to sort them then, say they'll call you and then when you get there, it's $20 less than their estimate and you can't get them back because they've already been put up. they say you only pay half when you've traded in books and then when you go to checkout, they explain that you still pay the sticker price, but half the mo year comes from your trade-in fund and you still have to pay the other half in cash/credit!! Terribly confusing. Also, not a great selection and they have no changing area for a toddler. This place will,likely be out of business within half a year. Awful!!! Stay away!! read more

A huge selection of good used books and they are always willing to check to see if they have a certain book you are looking for. If they don't have it they are willing to see is they can find it for you. They have nice customer service reps who are willing to go that extra mile. It's a pleasure to have them in the ark-la-tex. The building is clean and easy to find. It is located on Youree Dr in Shreveport. LA.. The book prices are very reasonable and the will trade books with you, two of yours for one of their books. When you get some trade credit built you pay half of their book price and use your trade credit to pay the rest. They carry adult and kids books as well as collectibles. The parking is good and I believe they accept some credit cards and debit cards. They have really added a very good business for the avid readers and I am very proud to add them to my list of me favorite places to spend time. Go visit them for a pleasant experience.
