I thought our original Arthur Murray was expensive as after the initial new student specials, the prices were significantly more than other studios. Of course by then we were committed as my husband loved our instructor and the other students. Each studio has been progressively more expensive. This studio is 25% more than the base price we paid across the country (and no, rents aren't that different). The sale price here is significantly more than the sale prices there (to be fair, at least this studio does sales- our second one did not). The staff here is very talented (though they do have a few newer instructors that are definitely still learning). The students are nice as well though the overall vibe is less friendly/open than our first studio where it honestly felt like a family. Here, the shared bond is dance and you won't learn much about the staff beyond that. This isn't a bad thing, just different. Over all, if you choose ballroom dancing as a hobby, this is definitely one of the best places to do it. Just... know its going to be a very expensive hobby.

The flexibility class was great and so are the other classes I've tried- even ones that were definitely above my skill level. They offer a wide range of time frames for classes. Classes are posted two weeks in advance and do fill up quick but you have a good chance of getting off the wait list. The owner Alyssa and the other instructor I've seen are both super encouraging and refused to let me give up/watch from the side lines and gave tips on how to adapt moves to my skill level. I especially appreciated it in a particular class where I didn't think I was physically capable of a particular move and was able to get it with some assistance. I'll definitely be back and I also love that the classes in a package don't expire, which is great since its hard for me to find classes that fit around my work schedule and other classes. The class sizes are great (8 max for most classes) and the students have all been supportive and friendly.

My daughter is now 6 and taking 3 classes a week. She loves it so much, it's sometimes hard to get her to leave the studio after class. I work out with Darcy, and she is absolutely the best! Whether it is working with her in a single session or in a group, she does a great job at making sure you feel comfortable with the exercise and weight, but by no means is she going to take it easy on you. She kicks my butt every single time I go in there! But having had a bulging disk in my lower back, she tailors the workouts so I can strengthen those muscles yet not hurt myself. I've been going to Studio Fitness since March, and in those three months I've lost 20 lbs, 6" off my waist, and I just ran my first sub 7:00 mile! I've had memberships at other national gym chains, but never had the desire to make it a regular part of my routine. But now, I really look forward to my gym sessions with Darcy each week. Working out at Studio Fitness has helped me re-adjust my eating habits and get my fitness level up to where I've wished it had been.
