I took an intro class here and had a great time. I scheduled a private instructional class and Alyssa was great to work with me.

I was slightly firmilar with pole fitness and thought it would be fun to try out. I called The Toy Box and the spoke with the owner. She invited me to the studio the following week to try out a class & ask all the questions I needed. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner who instructs all the classes. The other women in the class greeted me too, and they all were encouraging and welcoming. The prices for classes were affordable. I signed up for 4 classes a month (once a week). That was 2 years ago and I still look forward to going to my weekly class at the Toy Box. You can sign up for multiple classes a week. The studio does not have windows and is private. Students are on their own pole for the whole hour. Classes are limted to 7 students Due to small classes the instructor is able to provide one on one instruction. Classes focus on teaching the sport of pole dance with a focus on acrobatics on a verticle pole. Individual instruction is given based on a students level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The instructor and other students are encouraging. The other women in the classes are fun supportive and at times silly. I had hardly no upper body strength and absolutely no formal dance or gynamstic ability when I walked into the studio my first day. The instructor started me with the basics, gave me tips on what I was doing in error and making moves more difficult for myself, and encouraged me. Through pole fitness I gained muscle tone, strenght, flexibility, confidence (it feels incredible when you are able to master a challenging move and do combos). I also gained friends and a sense of empowerment. The studio has offered special event workshops that are in addition to classes for students who are interested. These workshops are at the Toy Box and hosted by Pole Fitness Champions. The most recent being Veronica Solimano and Natasha Wang (have you youtubed these women, wow!). The classes here are great for anyone who wants to learn pole fitness, improve skills they may already have and be in a supportive fun enviornment.

My stars are lowering even more because the owner cannot take criticism well based on my review. Now she is claiming that I had never taken a class with her. My original review was how I felt and how I still do feel about my experience with Kristen and her ToyGarage as a paying customer. Do not let her fool you into the whole "pity me, everyone is out to get me" act. Also, if you do decide to check it out. Do not join the "dance team." She will try to get you to buy matching lingerie with everyone so she can make more of a profit off of you. Not to mention, not everyone is very comfortable wearing lingerie at public events! This is suppose to be a sport... not a strip club :)

Planned for a surprise pole dance class for our bride to be and everyone had an extremely awesome time. Marisa does not ever come across as a judgy person and you feel comfortable with everything, though you may not know the moves at all! She made us feel beautiful and we had such a great time with bruises to commemorate this awesome session! I am not sure if it is because we had a small private party that it was not the studio as pictured. We were at Marisa's place which she converted an area to be a private studio with 4 poles. Though small, it was intimate and a great atmosphere - not to mention super reasonable pricing! The small routine she taught was sensual and challenging enough where you want to try it over and over again! The best part was she allowed us to bring/drink some liquid courage, which is super nice and accommodating considering we were here for a bachelorette party! Gorgeous place and amazing instructor Marisa! If it wasn't so far from me I would definitely like to take classes with her on a regular basis. If anyone asks me for a pole dance class recommendation, I wouldn't hesitate to suggest Spinderella or Marisa!!! Now...work it!

Sammamish studio is even better than woodenwille. In comparing to my first studio, Spinderella is: 1. Clean 2. There's a heater and ac 3. Floors aren't tile or cheap vinyl, or concrete. 4. There are mirrors! 5. There's light! 6. They don't expect you to scream or take ur clothes off. 7. Jasmine& Marisa are amazing! They are supportive (sometimes, even physically Ahahahhaah),very friendly, they won't make you feel stupid even if you look stupid:) If you are hesitating, my advice is GO TO SPINDERELLA! I was looking for a dance/fitness school and not a wild stripper place, I found it, I'm happy.
