There was also entirely too much frosting for the density and size of the cupcake, and I say that as a person who usually loves frosting. However, it had the same sugary buttercream as the vanilla instead of the traditional cream cheese that one would expect with a red velvet cake and that frosting made it just too sugary to eat.
