Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. I guess you can grab beer at this place as well. I've actually never seen a drive-thru "bar" before. Like, they put a piece of tape across the top of the drink but it still shocks me that places like this are legal. So the tape allows you to drive around with it? We had a good time, danced and socialized with our group. The problem arose when I closed the tab and added a 20% gratuity. The staff was immediately insulted, because the $100+ tip wasn't cash. I was then told that they would be adding an additional 20% charge to the closed out tab as we were leaving. Reading the reviews,it seems like they are quite shady when it comes to the tabs. The staff should be fired, and if I were the owner, I would question how much cash is walking out the door with the employees. Stay away!
