We inquired about real wood flooring and Maurice took us to another showroom. The samples on hand was overwhelming. They have samples from every company. Armstong, Luxwood, Mohawk and Parkay Floors. Talking to Maurice, Hester's is a small family owned business. They have some flooring in stock but they can order anything in the showroom. The one we liked was $5.50 sf. This was a little out of our price range. I simply love that they also support other businesses. As you'll see in the picture of the entrance way. After just a week or two I had some back to fix the trims that were cracking due to not being leveled properly. Over a short time the floor has become complete garbage. Holes under the flooring led to dips and cracking throughout my entire house. They did offer to redo part of my floor but that meant altering the original way the floor looked by adding trim in random places. I only found out about the plan when the installer called to arrange a time to come. He realize the sales person did not tell me when they originally came to look at the floor and only whispered it to the installer after leaving. When I called to speak with DAVID to discuss possible other options he treated HORRIBLY. He attitude was disgusting and unprofessional from the moment he answered the phone. When I tried to address his hostile attitude he became more irate. I strongly believe I was treated this way because I'm a young woman who can be easily taken advantage of by a misogynist. On start day a crew showed up, as some of them started ripping bathroom apart. they also put down a 4' wide paper walk way so they weren't making a mess from bathroom to door. Super nice crew if I bothered them with a question they actually explained what they were doing. WOW I liked that. When the last guy left everything was cleaned up by them. I went in to pay the balance & asked for any carpet info in writing, I did not get it, but I did receive a bottle of carpet cleaner for this type of carpet. Travis stated if there were any installation problems in the year to call them. As a long-time established family local business I shall rely on his word. I'm in the middle of cancer treatment so I had my sister meet Cindy to look at the house. The home was fully packed with current tenants belongings so detailed review was challenging. Upon meeting Cindy and the vacated unit it was clear the unit was not ready to rent. No fresh paint on the walls with scratches Knicks and dirt everywhere, white spackle left on top of grey paint where they went in to do touch ups, numerous hazardous broken falling off outlet covers, all closets completing marked up with scratches, and to top it off a musty, moldy smell in the first floor. We told them they must come and fresh paint the home, to which they responded by coming over with paint brushes themselves for touchups?? Later that day we met a few of the neighbors and they began to tell us the history of the home. Past Flooding issues which caused mold. Mold caused one former tenant to be hospitalized, another couple filed a lawsuit but settled out of court and won which is why there are no public records. Long story short I suspected mold and we had a professional mold inspector come. They was mold on almost every baseboard we took off. Cindy denied there was any water damage since hurricane Matthew. But then later remembered AFTER we called her BS there had been a big Noreastern in Nov 21. Which flooded the first floor. Why wasn't remediation done then. If we didn't do our due diligence, my family and children would have lived in a dangerous environment and she knew it. And talk about quality craftmenship that shows the quality of their work? The 1st floor toilet water tank not only had blackmold growing but Kevin when touching up the walls scraped his spackle off inside the toilet water tank and it was filled with spackle. I had never seen shotty work like that before. We left the property after 6 days as it was not livable. We caught them in deceitfull lies and I advise ANYONE to stay far away from these people and their company. Cindy is the president of St. John's Republican Party. They will be served lawsuit papers shortly as they are withholding $6,600 of our monies. I will upload photos shortly

During the construction, 9 East was so respectful of our living space and always left a clean space after each work day. Kevin ensured that the new door was secure and not only met - but exceeded - code (according to the county building inspector). From start to finish, this was an excellent experience and Kevin even took time to educate us as the build proceeded. I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking at residential construction. In fact, we'll be calling on 9East and Kevin again for future projects!
