I am writing this as a public service announcement: Do not hire New Chapters Moving Company. What…read morestarted as a $579 quote turned into a $1,200+ disaster that left my belongings broken, my apartment half-empty, and my storage unit a dangerous mess. 1. Property Damage & Negligence The most devastating part of this move was the complete disregard for my electronics. I provided professional TV boxes with foam corners; instead, they shoved my TVs into two-piece boxes with the screens exposed. Now, both TVs are ruined. One screen is visibly shattered, and neither unit will even power on. They took "professional" equipment and treated it like trash. 2. Price Gouging & Bait-and-Switch This company practices predatory pricing. I was quoted $579. Once they had my items on their truck overnight, the owner demanded $1,260. I felt completely extorted. He offered a measly 10% "discount" when I complained, but the final price was still double the estimate for a job that wasn't even finished. 3. Chronic Unprofessionalism The movers arrived 1.5 hours late and spent the first 30 minutes on the phone with their boss. Despite having a reserved freight elevator and a storage unit only 4 miles away, they moved at a snail's pace. They went "radio silent" for over an hour while I waited for them at the storage facility, later claiming their phones "died." 4. Incomplete Work & Reckless Packing * Abandoned Items: They left numerous boxed-up items sitting right by my apartment door, forcing me to deal with the move myself after paying them over $1,100. * Storage Disaster: They packed my unit so poorly that I can only open the door six inches before items begin falling out. Sentimental items were crushed and broken because they lacked basic stacking skills. 5. Zero Accountability When I sent the owner photos of the damage, he spent 30 minutes on the phone defending his "professionalism" rather than offering a refund for the damaged TVs or the unfinished work. He is a smooth talker who takes no responsibility for his crew's incompetence. I had to hire another company to fix the mess he made. Save your money and your sanity. This company is dishonest, overpriced, and will break your expensive belongings.

Let me begin by saying that I am probably one of the most difficult clients out there. I'm picky,…read morehave way too much stuff, and never have as much help as I need. I despise the entire process of moving. From packing to storage, it is the worst experience I can imagine. That being said, I can only sing the praises of New Chapters Moving Company and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR TEAM!!! From my first encounter with Bridget and constant organized follow-up from Emily, I knew that I'd made the right choice. After so many nightmare companies and irresponsible, rude and uncooperative movers, I was prepared to revisit the moving nightmares of my past. What an incredible surprise when I was graced with THE BEST movers that I'd ever encountered. David, Brandon, Everett and Greg were absolutely the friendliest, most helpful, patient, kind hearted, easy going, FAST AS "F", organized, efficient, movers that I have EVER had the pleasure of using!!! I had everything put in to storage and the packing job they did was EXEMPLARY! The owner George, was extremely generous and offered a discount on the final costs (thank the heavens) and to assure all was going to plan, was in constant communication with me throughout the entire move. He even came out at the end to introduce himself and make sure that I was OK with everything. I haven't a single complaint with New Chapters and if you are contemplating moving and looking for a company that you can trust and afford, I STRONGLY recommend using them!!! They are not part of a chain or franchise, but locally owned and operated!!! Thank you New Movers for making the chaos of moving bearable! 5 Stars!!!

Disorganized and unreliable from start to finish…read more I clearly explained multiple times that this was not a full house move, only remaining items left by another company. That information was never documented, and I had to repeat it in every conversation, which caused ongoing confusion and an inaccurate estimate. I was told the movers would arrive sometime in the afternoon. Around 2:30, I texted for an ETA and was told they would call when they were 30 minutes out. Later, I was told their prior job ran long and that due to driver hour limits, they could only do part of the move. Shortly after, I was informed they were not coming at all due to a truck accident and would need to reschedule. No confirmed time was ever provided for the next day. Because I needed everything out by the 31st, I booked another company and attempted to cancel. I first texted my move contact and was told to call, but when I did, it was 5:42 PM and the office was already closed. I waited on hold for over 30 minutes and then sent a cancellation email. Only after I had already tried to cancel by phone and email did I receive a text saying they had everything ready for the morning, despite never giving me a confirmed arrival time. Poor communication, poor documentation, and inconsistent scheduling. I would not recommend.

These are not your average movers. They are fast, strong, smart and take pride in what they do…read more They always try to please and are always careful with my expensive furniture. I have Indian Rosewood furniture, important from the Far East. I bought it from 2nd Ave in NYC. It is now a rare wood and hard to find the best hardwoods. It the HEAVIEST FURNITURE EVER and was very expensive. I am picky with my furniture and the guys wrap everything and take care of each piece so there is never a scratch. We have antiques. My dining parquet table was milled in 1895 from hard Maple. I try to buy heirloom quality things or things that last a lifetime. My husband is a busy attorney and I try to handle most of the move if I can. Tom works well with me and communicates very well on every last detail. Tom has very fair prices. Tom and his guys got up at 5 am, 2 days ago, drove to my 2nd story condo in 6 hours away and arrived back in PALM COAST at 10 at night with my things on a truck. The next day, my new house was completely furnished by 2 pm, just as I wanted it. They really care about putting everything where you want it. They are easy going and Tom is the most patient, professional and kind businessman. I just had my 4th move with East Coast Movers. They never let me down. If my husband and I had tenants here in FL moving from far away or around town, I would give them Tom's name. (RE: the guy who only gave 3 stars, I don't believe he's being honest. I always look at the complainer's other reviews to verify if they have ridiculous complaints about other places. He does have MANY other negative reviews, and it makes the reviewer look bad). Tom's service is nearly like white glove delivery service. They work so hard at being the best. I think they are the best! When Tom gives a quote, he always sticks to it. My husband has a critical eye for any service but he thinks East Coast movers is the best! They have been in business several years and I think they now move people out of state if they have time. Tom and his team (the sons) make moving SO easy! It is so hard to find quality people who have a fabulous work ethic and are worth every penny. We are in a rental so next time we move, we would choose East Coast Movers again! If my parents ever move out of t their house, I would have Tom and his team help us out. (Too bad they do not move from Upstate New York, because my husband has antique office furniture in his office building that he wants moved.) Tom meets me personally on time with his team. They really do take the stress out of moving! I am not a friend or family member nor was I paid for this review. I found this service online and they had 5 star reviews, so I chose East Coast Movers. I am a local and have lived here a long time. East Coast Movers is an asset to the community. I have a good reputation on Google reviews. I hope East Coast Movers is in business a long time! (I have tried HUNKS who "haul junk" to move one item in Cape Coral and haul some junk. They had a lot of add-ons and complicated schemes for pricing. HUNKS would not take directions, they were not skilled a and they broke the one thing I had them move. They also were uncoordinated with their call center. HUNKS tried to drag my new mattress on to the pavement with no lifting and no wrapping the mattress!) Just to compare, East Coast Movers do not need to be told how to handle your items. I rate them highly experienced. IF they want to know how you like something, they ask. But they pretty much know what to do. They pack so well that can save you a lot of money on storage fees! It is not worth the stress to move by yourself if you have a great company like East Coast Movers! ECM always remember us and that is a nice touch that they remember their repeat customers. Thanks, guys! We are super pleased with your work and happy in our new home!

Both experiences were exceptional from start to finish! Tom, the owner, was incredibly responsive and professional--he answered all of our questions promptly and made sure everything went smoothly. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and treated our belongings with care. They were courteous, respectful, and truly knew what they were doing. Moving is always stressful, but East Coast Movers made it so much easier. Not a single item was broken--everything arrived just as it left. They really helped take a huge weight off our shoulders. I highly recommend East Coast Moving to anyone looking for a reliable, professional moving company. Great company, great people, and outstanding service!
