This was not the case for us. We arrived late (pre-arranged). Used the code to get inside and found our room key on a guest book with an obscenity written on the first page. We then had to climb two narrow flights of stairs with our luggage (I'm not young). Our reservation was for 3 adults (me and my two adult kids), but we were only given one bath towel and three hand towels. We were told to contact the owner ONLY in case of emergency, so there was no one to call. I emailed, but he didn't get it until breakfast. There was a heat wave going on (July 1st), and we found out too late that this place has no AC. We opened the windows (it rained that night) and turned the ceiling fan on, but it didn't help. We were miserable, and my son is 6'5" tall and had to keep ducking under the fan to avoid decapitation. Breakfast was underwhelming - eggs, toast and coffee, with a few mini-muffins and juice on a side table. I think that at a small establishment like this, one could customize the rooms to meet the guests' needs. I was very disappointed.

The staff take great pride in this establishment with noticeable attention to their grounds, rooms and hospitality. Quazeem is the proprietor and made sure things were in order and that his patrons were happy. We definitely enjoyed a good night sleep every night with quiet accommodations overall. The location is approximately 47 kilometers south of London and close to many areas we visited. We met some nice folks and had a wonderful time here. Much appreciation for loaning us the electrical adapter (UK) the first night too. These are a definite necessity and I thought the EU ones would work (my bad). The convenience store a few blocks south did have in stock for only a few pounds a piece. Overall 5 stars - great place!

What is more, the position of the house is amazing. It is not far away from central London. And you can find tube station within 10 minutes by walking. Another good alternative is buses. There are more than 15 different buses near this house that will take you to wherever you want. The house is pretty and very clean. I was happy that I can use the kitchen free. The bathroom is always clean, because the host---James clean it every day. I am very happy with my experience in Woodville guesthouse. The host was very nice and with great hospitality. He cooks very well....to be honest I do miss his food......:-) My trip in London was perfect not only because of the view but also James and his guesthouse. To be honest with every one who will see my review, this guesthouse worth more than the price it charges. After all, highly recommend this place to every one and believe me it will become one of your best experiences in London......

The host rents out 3 rooms in his house, and you have full access to the kitchen and the bathroom. I really liked the arrangement because I could cook me own meals and save some money on eating out. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The host, James, was very helpful and considerate. He is also very knowledgeable of London, so make sure to ask him for sightseeing suggestions. He is also very smart and pleasant to talk to. Definitely talk to him about art :) The house is situated in Walthamstow, one of the London suburbs. It's a nice neighborhood, there is a huge street market working on High street, so you can get, for example, fruits or other food for cheap. There are also at least three large supermarkets on High street, some pubs and restaurants if you don't cook or prefer eating out. Despite the presence of tha market I didn't have any problems with security, even when I came back late at night. The streets are well lit, there are police patrols, so it indeed feels quite safe. Walthamstow central station is within a 15-minute walking distance. There's a Victoria line Tube station there as well as buses and trains (I've never used the latter). The Underground will take you to King's Cross in 25 minutes and to Victoria Station in 40. The trains go every 3-7 minutes, but, unfortunately, I've found the London Underground to be quite unreliable, e.g. the service is disrupted sometimes -- but that is the problem you will have to face if you're staying in the suburbs (and a lot of other hostels and rentals are situated in the suburbs too). The buses are more reliable but take more time to reach London. There are night buses that run all night and you can use them if you're coming back late (the underground closes at 11pm). Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Woodville Guesthouse. It's a really good alternative to staying at a hotel if you're traveling on a budget.

Since we were leaving before Breakfast was being served. They made us a complimentary breakfast bag to go, which was more like a picnic basket. The rooms are renovated and very clean. After a great meal, we returned to our room and slept for 12 hours, and awoke to the delicious smell of breakfast cooking. Clive and Carmel are so accommodating, they schedule your breakfast time, drive you to and from the airport and even confirm what you want for breakfast. In terms of location, there are several shops, restaurants, cafes, laundromats, pharmacies, and grocery stores for convenience. Deepa is just a wonderful caring person and is briliant in how she operates her bed-and-breakfast. She puts out a great spread for breakfast every morning which is delicious, fresh, and scrumptious. Make sure you get one of her special croissants. Rooms are very well cleaned and has all the conveniences you would need which include a comfortable bed, a private bathroom/shower, a TV, and a closet to name a few. There is also a common area on the second floor where you could lounge to relax, use the computer, the kitchen, and mingle with other travelers. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to London. I plan to stay here on my next trip.
