The RV park also has a very nice Rec Hall with a kitchen, shuffle board and a private boat launch and small marina to keep a boat at. Only 4 minutes from the white sands of Magnolia Beach and 3 from the Indianola Fishing Marina that has live music every weekend in the summer for free. Powderhorn is the perfect place to stay for a weekend to enjoy the world famous fishing or to stay a few months on a longer contract job. The community it's in is quite and friendly. Another bonus is that Mike the owner is always available with a hand shake and a smile. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in the Port LaVaca area now.

The lake was so peaceful and serine we decided to take a midnight stroll and enjoy it before bed. Our cabin had kitchen complete with pots, pans and silverware as well as a full sized refrigerator. The area was clean and quiet. My bed was comfortable. The area was very well lit. We really enjoyed our stay!

But the facilities are the real star. Sites have full hookups, for starters. No driving to a dump station. Bathrooms/ showers are nicer than home: skip the RV shower and take real one. Pool is small but clean (in December) with splash pads for loungers/little ones. Laundry is spotless with plenty of machines. Appears lots of folks live here for work - Monday morning saw a lot of cars leaving early. Highly recommended, but don't say I didn't warn you - after this place, you'll be disappointed everywhere else!

Don't expect a lot of WiFi on the 4th of July weekend. The park was rather full, but we didn't feel crowded. Nice site, bathrooms and bathhouse clean, pool awesome, pond clean and the ducks had great character. Quite and WiFi improved on the 5th; imagine that. Good people and really happy about staying there.
