Only 4 minutes from the white sands of Magnolia Beach and 3 from the Indianola Fishing Marina that has live music every weekend in the summer for free. Powderhorn is the perfect place to stay for a weekend to enjoy the world famous fishing or to stay a few months on a longer contract job. The community it's in is quite and friendly. Another bonus is that Mike the owner is always available with a hand shake and a smile. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in the Port LaVaca area now.

The full kitchen allowed us to eat healthy on the road, the wifi works great, and the laundry facilities are clean. There's also a public boat ramp and trailer parking for day use. The location is excellent for exploring the small coastal towns and wildlife management areas along the Gulf of Mexico. The new owners are very friendly and are doing a great job updating the entire RV park. Check-in and check-out was seamless. We cannot wait to take our family to the cabin for a weekend fishing trip!

We experienced a great family fishing trip at Bay Flats Lodge. Me and my two sons-in- law arrived…read moreon a Monday evening to gourmet cooking, beginning with appetizers, followed by double cut pork chops, and then a delicious desert. The lodge rooms were very comfortable with queen size beds and luxury Marriott bedding. Super nice for high class hotel, much less a fish camp! Then on Tuesday we experienced a fantastic day of fishing with Captain Jeremy, who is a first class guide. We went home with a nice mess of fish, including: red fish, black drum, and blue catfish. We caught many more fish, with some too small to keep and some too large to keep, including a 31" long red fish. We will be back that is a fact. We highly recommend Bay Flats Lodge for a great experience.
