Here is an example of it; after I wrote my review here is how (text messages) he approached me. Attacking a customers character is never good First off I have to say the work and speed that their crew delivered was great. We love everything that they did for us. We had a number of requests for them to: 1. Build a deck near our pool with cover 2. Replace our fencing to hide the pool equipment 3. New fence towards the back of our property In the photos you can see how great it turned out. Now where they lost their stars is in communication and dealing with conflicts. 1st issue - We had a dumpster provided that they subcontracted and had a number of issues. James gave my husband the phone number to contact dumpster company and "deal with the issue". As a customer all issues pertaining to a subcontractor that THEY hired should have been handled by them and not us. 2nd issue - some of the fence posts they installed warped and we asked for them to come repair. We had to text and call about 10 times! We were given dates that someone would show up and then no one showed up and no communication about 5 times. Continuous calling and text had to occur with the same result. Then random out of the blue one day someone showed up to fix the fence and once again no communication to inform us they were coming nor after to check how the repair went. This process was extremely frustrating and clear that dealing with conflicts isn't their forte.

After the installation, I had some issues with sagging and motor function, which Bluebonnet was steadfast and committed to coming out to solve and fix the issues that were manifesting. Kyle and Alex did an excellent job on the installation and fixing the issues that came up after the installation. Kyle and Alex worked tirelessly to solve the problems and replace motors that seemed to be malfunctioning. A company is only as good as its guarantee of warranty and workmanship, and Bluebonnet definitely came through with standing by their work and product.. My back patio is beautiful, and I am able to enjoy it now that the screens keep out leaves, dirt, and debris. I highly recommend Blue Bonnet Patio Covers and the electric screens that they provide.

The stress was immense, as I had to become savvy to construction and plumbing work in order to double check their work. The core crew and their plumber are PHENOMINAL! These guys have an amazing work ethic and do beautiful work when it comes to paving and plumbing, but we were a great experiment when it came to building the pool. Our pool was the first they'd ever built. They were only subcontractors on prior pools working on the decking only. Fermin, the owner, presents as the most honorable, caring, upright human being, only to bait and switch you on workmanship, materials, etc., until you DON'T get what you think you're paying for. If you use this company, please read your paperwork with a fine tooth comb, making sure that everything you are expecting is there. And, if you make any changes, go through all of the paperwork again to identify everything is there exactly. We had a tiler who didn't know what he was doing, an engineer and equipment expert who didn't ground and bond all of the wiring and also didn't follow the positioning or wiring instructions for the heater (we almost lost our warranty because it was installed poorly), a pool filled with water and debris with no chemicals to start us off and no instructions for curing time or equipment/chemical usage during the 30 day curing time. Worse, Fermin told us he didn't subcontract--the team and equipment were all his. This was a lie, and it resulted in their forklift running into the side of my neighbor's home, puncturing her stucco. Further, we had to stop the construction of an eyesore of a privacy fence that looked nothing like what we agreed upon or the photos that showed precisely what we wanted. Bait and switch. Another $10,000 later and a decking company that knew what it was doing, we got our privacy fence installed. The contract includes a two-year warranty on the structure, but we have spent thousands of dollars on repairs without reimbursement because this company will generally not respond to warranty calls and we couldn't trust them to wire and properly install the pool equipment. They did, however, respond a few months ago to a repair on our retaining wall, but did a sloppy job that did not actually repair the cracks (photos). We now also have a rusted landscaping light and a loose tile on the step (photo). We have gone to the office, called every week for weeks, to no avail. The owner is ignoring our calls to schedule a warranty repair. Again, I cannot complain about the workmanship of paving and perhaps landscaping. They did a remarkable job on our pavers and matched our paint like nothing I've ever seen before (paint is very hard to match exactly, but they did it). There are definitely good things to say, but overall, buyer beware! Fermin is NOT what he appears as a businessman, and you may pay dearly for it.

Stones of Texas performed faulty construction work and a large poolside, wooden pavilion they built collapsed. During the investigation of that incident, it was found that Stones of Texas had performed much more faulty work as well. We were awarded a judgment against Stones of Texas and Fermin Cardenas. If after coming out they decided that they didn't want my business I would've thought the professional thing to do would to just say thanks for the inquiry but this is a project we're not able or willing to do. I've also noticed that it seems when someone gives him a negative review he can't find their information. Just based on his responses if I were a customer considering this company I'd reconsider after looking at his responses doesn't take responsibility for his actions.

While there are aspects of the project that we feel they did a good job with (mainly the pergola), we feel it's important to warn other potential customers of the issues we have experienced working with them. First, this company uses subcontractors, and unfortunately, many times they didn't show up at all to perform the work they were scheduled to do or performed the work incorrectly. This led to significant delays throughout the project and was extremely frustrating. It put us in the position of constantly following up to ensure the work was done and done right. As an example, the concrete steps we asked them to build were initially very narrow and a safety hazard. We asked them to correct that. Our pergola was not built correctly according to the design, and we had to ask them to correct that as well. The railings around the patio were installed incorrectly, and again we had to ask them to correct this. We understood that the stain of the existing patio may never perfectly match the new concrete patio but the colors are not even close. Dominic was our main point of contact with Freedom and was apologetic every time this occurred (which was frequently) and let us know the excuses the subcontractors provided. They did make these corrections, but what I'm not sure Dominic (and Allen) with Freedom understand is that this is absolutely a reflection on their company when they hire subcontractors that either unreliable, incompetent, just "don't care," or all of the above. Unfortunately, they had already stained our concrete steps so when they did fix the prior sloppy work, the stain didn't match the remaining patio. The biggest complaint that we have with them is that once the entire project was complete (in April 2023), within a month the concrete overlay that they had put on our patio to match the extended patio we built (which it never did) started to deteriorate in a section of the patio. (We now know from speaking with others who have knowledge of concrete work that this overlay was not installed correctly from the beginning). We immediately informed them of the issue and 3 months later (after repeated texts) they repaired the section of damaged overlay without restaining. In other words, we had a large white patch of concrete on our brown stained patio for another 2-3 months. Again, after repeated texts and excuses, they finally let us know they would be sending someone out to stain the patched area of concrete. We had asked them to ensure that the patched area matched the remaining concrete and asked them to fix the issue with the entire patio being multiple different shades of stain. To this they asked us to either pay $3800 to correct the poor staining all done on our patio by THEIR contractors or only stain the patched area of concrete for free. We absolutely refuse to pay Freedom more for THEIR work that was not done right to begin with and agreed for them to only stain the patched area (with the expectation that it would, at least, match the existing patio). Of course, it doesn't and looks awful. I included a picture here so you can see how bad this looks. We are now left with a concrete patio that is 4 different shades of brown and is an eyesore. We have texted Allen and Dominic multiple times to ask that they do the right thing and restain our patio so that all of THEIR work is one color. What is very disappointing is they are not even responding to us anymore. There is no sense of wanting to do the right thing for their customer or even taking pride in the work they are doing. It is very disheartening that after trying to be understanding with them throughout all the delays/failures in the project once they got their money they really didn't seem to care. Allan/Dominic/Freedom Outdoor Living, if you are reading this and would like to correct your staining work on our patio and make this right, we would gladly welcome it and be happy to amend this review.
