I emailed early in the morning (3:30-I woke up!) to ask about boxes of a specific size. I said I needed boxes about 15 x 15 x 5, that hey couldn't be smaller, but could be larger. I arrived at 10:25 and explained that I sent an email with no response. They open at 9:30. No one had gotten the email. 1. The store was staffed by four people. Two were at the counter. Two were behind the counter-just hanging out. 2. Even after explaining what I was shipping, and that the size of the object was 14 x 14 x 4, the staff was singularly unhelpful. The first box they showed me was wildly oversized. I had to lean over the counter to see the boxes against the wall and ask for specific sizes : What about 5 x 16 x 14? What about 5 x 15 x 14? going up and inch or two or down. It was exhausting. I finally settled on a size that would work and left, looking at my email when I got home. The email was answered at 10:30-while I was at the store. The person who responded did say UPS had boxes that would work-and the sizes he mentioned were better sizes than the ones I bought!!! I'd go back, but it's a bit of a hike. Not today. Not only that-I asked about one of the sizes he said they had. The salesperson said they weren't there. So-IF you go here and IF you can see the box sizes, go for it. No guarantees that the size you need will be there. And there's no way I could have found out ahead of time if they had something that would have worked (even if they had answered the phone). I did get something that would work, so they'd have to get at least one star. No one there is rude, but no one is going to give you that extra-hell, not even extra, BASIC service! No one seemed to have the ability to figure out appropriate sizes for shipping. It was a wonder. I mean, I think that's the purpose of the store. read more

I always have a good experience here. The staff is friendly and helpful and the lines are never too long. Plus it's right next to a starbucks, grocery store, liquor store and blow dry bar -- i can get lots of errands done at one time! read more

This particular UPS location is first rate. I've shipped dozens of packages without any issue. When I go in they are fast, efficient and professional. They generally hire very good employees as well -- my guess is local college kids -- who also are friendly and well versed. Both Pam and Bob are awesome and they're incredibly helpful and efficient. I've had to use UPS stores and other competitors at various times because of travel etc. and very few of them rise to the same standard that this store does. I'm incredibly grateful to have such a reliable and professional option to utilize for my shipping needs. read more

Packaging was ok but not perfect. Two heavy items shipped together worked their way to the bottom of the box. They were bubblewrapped so no damage, but they should have been stabilized better. The worst part was the incessant emails asking me to write a review. So, here you go. read more

I won a few small items through an online auction and used the Towson store to pack and send them. This was a first time for me and a test (inexpensive items). It worked so well I did it again a month later on a more valuable item. The quality of packing, promptness, price and communications were all beyond my highest expectations and I will probably use them again. read more

The store is in an excellent location but customer service is the WORST!! The owner is extremely nasty! I shipped a package and asked if I could finish putting the label on as the cashier was saying she could take it for me. I explained that I was trying to put the label over top my address but she insisted she would take care of it. Within a few days, the package was returned to me and I noticed the cashier did not keep her word about covering my address up. When I returned to the store, the owner said they were doing me a favor by mailing the package. He tossed it at the counter and suggested I take it elsewhere since I didn't appreciate their delivery attempt. If you voted for Donald Trump, you will fit in just fine with this guy. read more

Way overpriced compared to other UPS stores and the employees made no effort to create a friendly environment. I will not be returning to this franchise. I wanted to send a long distance fax and the price was higher than I've ever seen. Plus, I told them I already have a cover sheet, so they charged me an additional fee for using my own cover page since I "didn't use one of the ones that the store provides you with". But, they only informed me of the additional charge after they sent it, so it was too late for me to use one of their "free" cover sheets. That's just a cheap way to make an extra buck. I used to work at a UPS store and am familiar with the operating costs and pricing structures. Each branch is franchised and can charge their own prices within reason...They are charging huge markups on some of their services which usually indicates they are having issues with profit. It's sad to see a business make the mistake of trying to solve that problem with high prices instead of trying to create return customers. I was also disappointed with how the employees handled the fact I was clearly upset about the price. Obviously the individual employee cannot change the price, and I understand that and have no ill will to the individuals themselves. However, no effort was made to explain the pricing to me at all. In fact, they barely spoke to me the entire time I was in the store.There was no greeting or anything when I entered the building. The employees certainly aren't rude, but they just clearly didn't care about customer experience at all. Complacency does not create return customers. read more

DO NOT use this business. HORRID customer service. Put in a claim nearly 5 months ago as they broke my antique chest. I have now paid for it myself. They ignored many phone calls, gave me the run around so many times my head hurts. They asked for photos and documents, and it has been over two months since they received that. I hear every possible excuse in the world. They owe me over $400 and that is not to speak of the time I ran around for them. I will never use them again. I haven't received one dime for my claim. The "manager" will not return phone calls and has a pathetic attitude. I wish I had gone to Fed Ex or anyone other than this place. read more

Tried to mail a DHL Express package and the young lady behind the counter quoted me $185 when another UPS Store in Columbia had quoted me $95 the day before. (I didn't have a telephone number to the destination address so I couldn't send it at the time.) I asked why the huge difference and she said it was the "mark-up", "her store was a franchise". I called the Columbia store to see if I was misquoted and he said no, it should be $95 in each UPS store for the same package to go to the same destination. I went back in to talk to the lady and she didn't want to explain anything, asked me to "call the manager". She then looked at her computer and said it had "jumped" down to $136. She made it seem as if she was quoting at random, seeing how much money she could get me to pay. She was obnoxious as well. Stay away from that store- I went downtown on Guilford Street and paid $95 and the guy was nice as could be. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I shipped packages four months ago that arrived smashed. Trying to get this store to process the insurance claim is impossible. They don't answer emails or phone calls. Manager is conveniently never around. Keep getting the run around. They seem nice enough. I know I'm paying retail by using the store...but the prices seem RIDICULOUS. When I asked for a breakdown of the costs...I just got "sure" but no breakdown. I guess I'm paying to keep 6 people working. First it's going to be $189...then at the register it's $215. The is the second instance the price jumped considerably from the quote.
