I visited the UPS store in Woodlnd today to return an Amazon purchase. I visit them weekly, typically for returns or shipping. They're always so friendly greet you with a smile and are super fast at getting a long line taken care of quickly. I brought Cosmo in Maui my birds in today because they were running errands with me. It was nice to see that a business was friendly with pets in a birdie backpack visiting with their mom. Some businesses aren't as friendly about it, even though they're concealed in a backpack. It's nice to see that a local business not only handles business quickly and efficiently and friendly, but is open to pet babies visiting the store with their mom or dad's. OMG I cannot say enough about this store. I've been to the one in Davis many times. They do the best they can, but there's a serious parking problem there which is not good when you're carrying packages. This store is incredible. First, there's lots of parking. Never a problem. Second, there's lots of staff. I was shocked the other day when I saw five people working behind the counter. Even if the line is long, which it usually isn't, they get you through really quickly. Finally, the people that work there are above and beyond helpful. I have a back injury, so carrying packages is a problem. And of course today I had to pick up a case of wine. The woman actually brought it out to my car for me so I didn't have to lift it. With a store full of people, that is some serious customer service! And that's just the way it is there. Every single time. There was a severely disabled man in the store a few weeks ago, and I watched an employee patiently take him through every single thing he needed, and walk out to his car with him when he was finished. Filed a complaint with the BBB and this company had the audacity to lie. I have the receipts. My complaint was, package was dropped off Jan 15. UPS tracking shows UPS did not receive it until Jan 23. Thats not me, that is UPS. The issue I reported was that the package was sitting in the store for a week with no explanation, and I tried calling a dozen times during buisness hours, over three days. Call never answered, never responded to voicemail. This company had the audacity to blame everything on UPS, and had the audacity to claim the package went to UPS the same day it was dropped off. Well, either that is a flat out lie, or, this store better talk to UPS themselves. I responded to the BBB complaint, next I will upload to BBB my receipt, tracking, and my phone log showing all my calls depending on the next response. There was a clear long line out the door and one of the employees refused to put down the phone and help physical store customers. DoorDash Drivers bewar. There is a guy who works there taller thin facial hair very rude and nasty attitude. Was the first time I went in there to do a customers order with DoorDash the guy was very rude and instead of telling me what I was suppose to do he said I need this for the code and just stood there. Then he said I needed to go through the customers items and match those with the QR code. He was snotty the whole time and I will also file a complaint with DoorDash support since the guy also tried to say that the customer needed to come in and do it herself. Like really?!? Travel the world brought surprises for my son. All black hat from New Zealand....Vicuna wool from the andes mountains... are a few things that were in the package.. Did not cost very much but were priceless to me.. I mailed a package from this store .. I call the store when my package was not deliver .. I was told to put in a claim I tried to summit a claim kept receiving an error I was told the store does not put in claims anymore I called the store back I told them I was having a problem I was told the manager would call me tomorrow I ask to be called at 12pm because i had surgery a couple days before (wanted to make sure I was awake I was called at 10:30am I went to the store I arrived at 12: pm I was told the manager was on lunch break I was told a claim would be summited that night at 7:pm the store closes at 5:00 pm I am now confused First i was told only i can summit a claim the store closes at 5 who is going to summit the claim at 7. I was ask to more over I tell them (the associate not until I get an correct answer. The associate tells me her terminal is down and needs the one I am at I do not move the associate does a few transactions ( the other terminal mysteriously starts working when the manager appears on the floor. The manager Veronica comes out of the office or what looks like an office area at 1:30 (an hour and half lunch) later , she dumb wittily touches the first computer area no eye contact she leans over and touches the return pile she mumbles a couple a words to an associate . She approaches me Veronica the so call manager who should get fired tells me I left you a voice mail of what is going on I told her she was suppose to call me a 12 She raises her voice your mad because I did not call you back at 12 I told her if she would of would of call me at 12 it would of eliminated me driving into town. I told her i would be back tommarrow to get the claim number Veronica told me I would never get a claim number she never has to see me again. Nothing is worst is when someone talks at you and not to you ...I told her now its about customer service Veronica and her staff member laughed in my face Veronica should be FIRED !! An employee, first name Veronica, asked the line of customers to wait outside in 40 degree weather. Once I got to the front of the line, she proceeded with rude and condescending behavior. There is ALWAYS a line outside now to enter this location. This is unfortunately the only location in Woodland. I will drive to Davis from now on to mail ALL my UPS items. It is a little further out but the service is worth it. I followed exactly what everyone else was doing.. 1 person comes out and 1 person goes in, right? Well when I went inside and was standing in line, all of a sudden I'm told to wait outside as she utters "They only allow 4 people in the store at a time" not including themselves. When someone just walked in to check their mail, no one said anything. Then as I was about to be helped, somebody simply walked past me to ask to get on the computer.. not told to wait their turn! This store is the most predatory ups store ive been to in 33 years of living. If you have a ups ground order, expect ro pay DOUBLE what ebay charges to ship out the same item. Each UPS store can do this without any repurcussions. They all set their own rate. I have tried to ship stuff out from this location at least 5x. It is the same BS every time. On top of that the employees have alot of attitude. If they have to measure or weight anything, they get pretty flustered. Don't waste your time even getting a quote here. Should have gone to my normal UPS store but needed to return 2 shirts to Amazon, and this store is near work. Well I printed the tag for my return and placed them in the bag supplied by UPS and then dropped them in the bin. Luckily, I printed my reciept like I always do because 2 weeks later I received an email from Amazon stating they never received my shirts worth a little under$50. Before heading to this UPS store be aware that they will not take boxes back under any circumstances and they're not very friendly about it either. We bought a box that was not ideal. Told the girl we'd take it and see if it would work. Nothing was said about no refunds if it didn't! Tried to return it the next day, in perfect condition, and we're told by the manager "I'm just an employee, the box is yours"!!!!! This store is great and when you get to the counter you are their main focus. Yes there may be a line to wait in but that's life and when it's your turn they take GREAT CARE of you. The employees are great, it's the "beep beep" customers that suck sometimes. Tried to call to ask about a notary and the best time to make an appt. No answer just a recorded message saying the mailbox is full ( made 3 attempts, always the same thing.) went online to look up info. website simply shows Notary service is available. Doesn't say anything about limited hours. Make appt link kept failing out. After two hours of trying to set this appt up. Finally got it made through the online app. for 3 pm. Show up a few mins early, go to the Notary window and am told, they went to lunch and I can wait 45 mins until lunch is over, or start over by making another appointment. No apologies, nothing. Told me " we're super busy, so shit happens." Said they could have the guy call me when he comes back so we can come back when he's there. This place is an insult to the term business and should be forcibly closed by the city for dereliction! Hard pass! Never again! Go waste someone else's time! read more

Friendly staff. Prices ok. Parking lot in front of store. Long lines for service; some customers belabor their issue which makes waiting times longer. Get down to your business quickly & efficiently but staff too gracious to move along. Probably will get worse as close to holidays so plan ahead! Copy machine not good, paper was creased/wrinkled on color copies. Staffer did offer to allow re-do at their cost but I needed to be at county office before 4. Time was short due to wait in line so I declined his offer to make better copy but speaks well of business to make it right! read more

Went to store, asked them to print out my Ebay labels for 2 packages, one very large package, one very small. Employee insisted he would tape the labels on, after we had confirmed which label goes with which package. He switched them. I lost a $275 item that was lost, plus over $50 in postage! I just returned some items to Amazon using the scan codes provided by Amazon. The person who accepted my items, Veronica, was rude, argumentative, completely unhelpful, and lectured me regarding my responsibilities when returning items saying I was an uneducated customer. There were three small items separated into two scan codes with one item listed on one paper code and two items on the other. I asked her if she could look to see which code had two items and which had one as I did not have my reading glasses. She refused to do so saying it was not her responsibility and not her job. I asked again if she could just look at the papers quickly since I did not have my glasses. She again refused noting that it was not her responsibility and that I should have prepared better. Sheesh! This place is a joke. I only ever come here to pick up packages and the line is always out the door. Folks there are super slow to get things done. They should have staff working on folks sending out items AND someone ELSE for pick up items. Pick up items take half as long as those shipping stuff and it's ridiculous to have to stand in a 45 min long line behind people sending stuff when it took 2 mins and 37 seconds to grab my stuff and leave. Others picking up stuff were visibly annoyed as well. Not to mention, there's always someone sitting in back not coming out to help the staff out front. Common sense customer service is all hands on deck when there are lines that long. read more

BUYER BE AWARE! Hey friends in Woodland, a FYI, if you ship items from the UPS store, be aware that they will quote you shipping costs for outside vendors, i.e. USPS/Fed Ex etc. and they DO NOT verbally disclose it to the customer, and in turn charge over double the cost for said shipping charges than if you went directly to say the post office and used that same service. I assumed that it was always UPS services because it says UPS on business name, shame on me for not being a smart consumer. ( as the extremely rude employee at their store told me). I can't tell you how frustrated I am after mailing hundreds of packages for personal and business purposes from their location over the last 15 years. Completely shady and unethical business practices. Just to give you an idea of HOW overpriced, refund for the Priority Mail Express service thru USPS was $36 and the UPS store charged me $81 dollars to ship the package. I have usually been very happy with the service of a UPS store, but I wouldn't recommend using them for notary work. The individual who helped us was nice, but she didn't read any of the paperwork that she needed to be a notary for work. They also spend half the day telling me that they couldn't find our overnighted files that needed to be overnighted back to an attorney in another state. I had to call UPS specifically to find out that the package indeed was delivered to this office. read more

I received a wrong package from a certain online product fulfillment service and needed to send back my stuff for a refund. I, being the completely organized and well-planned individual that I am, didn't print out my return label for the package so I'm just there at the counter like "oh, golly shucks ol' me". Fortunately, the girl at the counter pointed me in the direction of a public computer in the corner, and I was able to get a label printed with no fees or hassles. I handed her the paper and the box, and she took care of the rest. That's the end of the story. Legit. I can understand that a lot of folks have some bad experiences with UPS, but I fortunately didn't have that experience and was able to walk in and out in 5 minutes. read more

The two notaries public who work at this UPS Store (two females) do not know the California notary laws for which they are commissioned. I went in to have a document notarized for an out-of-state filing with the other state's notarial verbiage and these notaries public refused to notarize the document because it did not comply with California notarial verbiage requirements. However, the California Secretary of State's Office, Notary Public Division, Notary Public Handbook and California Civil Code 1189(c) both state that a notary public may, in fact, use the out-of-state notarial verbiage if that document is being filed outside California. When I produced the evidence showing this (i.e, the Notary Public Handbook and Civil Code 1189(c)), these notaries public couldn't understand what was written in black and white and still refused to fulfill their duties as a notary public, stating that they always do it that way. I later contacted the Secretary of State's Office, who confirmed these notaries public were in error. I would not expect these notaries public to take my word for it, as they don't know me; however, when provided with their own training material, they at least could have investigated further. Perhaps the Secretary of State's Office will set them straight as I have filed a formal complaint with that office. For the record, California Civil Code 1189(c) states, "On documents to be filed in another state or jurisdiction of the United States, a California notary public may complete any acknowledgment form as may be required in that other state or jurisdiction on a document, provided the form does not require the notary to determine or certify that the signer holds a particular representative capacity or to make other determinations and certifications not allowed by California law." read more

I came here today, in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis. They were beyond organized and careful. Both employees were wearing masks, and they limited customers to two at a time inside the store. Spaces to stand by the counter were carefully marked with tape. I needed a notarization. The notary stood at least 6 feet from me, even with her mask on, to do the notarization. They had hand sanitizer on the counter, so I was able to use that before and after signing the notary book and using the ink pad for fingerprints. You do need to know that they're closing early (5:00) for the time being. read more
