This is the coolest cooking space I've ever seen! The lighting is impeccable, the design is gorgeous and open, and the overall atmosphere is friendly and fun! Went for a Creative Mornings talk and was thoroughly impressed with the space. The live plants made the environment feel refreshing and light but also it was pristine and felt super organized. Would absolutely love to use this space for a work from home day or when I start my freelance work more full time. Parking is a lil hard since it's in the doco area but it's well worth it. Loved how friendly the staff were and how welcomed I felt. Definitely sold. read more

Review #501 Came here to see a local art exhibit for youth prevention. It was super cool to see how the space was utilized. It was very spacious and had a clean chic and new layout to it. When you first walk in there's lots of local vendors in the Sacramento area promoting their goods and services. After that you walk through the corridor and see lots of local artist work and exhibits. There are days they're doing live demonstrations as well as live music and they had a cool raffle.There also was lots of food given away like a charcuterie cup, cheesecake and a lot of mixologist non-alcoholic of course. Overall it was a fun event and it's really cool to see what the inside looks like a great opportunity for our youth read more

The AC went out in the space the day of our event and the event coordinator was completely rude throughout our entire event planning. They refused to set up as a vendor for us to pay via check and then tried to charge us as a last minute reservation because they didn't receive the deposit (which we ended up having to pay via credit card bc they never registered). It is now two months after the event and the deposit has not been returned to the card they charged. Terrible customer service. Go elsewhere. read more

I'm a coworker at The Urban Hive, and couldn't love where I work more - it's such a collaborative, creative space. It's perfect for anyone who has possibly been confined to a home office or working in coffee shops. Having access to conference rooms to meet with clients, and a laid-back creative environment has been great. On numerous occasions, I've been stuck on a project, and coworkers have stepped in and helped out. With such a variety of creative professionals, a lot of collaboration goes on. It's a great space and an awesome place to work. In addition to the coworking space, we have the Sacramento art co-op: Vox. Despite not being a member, Brandon and Janna make me feel like an honorary member. The space they have created has become one of the hubs and high points of Sacramento: building community, fostering creativity and collaboration ... and serving up the best coffee and warm fuzzy feelings around town! Brandon is just one of those guys who always has a smile for you and you're compelled to give him a big 'ol bear hug. There are a dozen nooks and crannies to go get your work on and the music here is always varied and groovin. I think right now they have some kind of a deal where if you sign up for 6 months, you only pay $95 per month. That's amazing. If all of this isn't enough, stop by to check out the art--which changes every month. How cool is this place? Rarely do I find an art gallery that is young, hip and modern instead of old, stuffy and snobby. Art galleries for me are all about the atmosphere and rarely about the art, but even the creativity on the walls impressed me. This is a long, beautiful brick-walled space that is perfect for events from private parties to weddings to wedding receptions. My fiancee and I came here for the first time looking for a wedding venue. I know I'll take advantage of this place when I can ever afford it! read more

My husband and I just took a tour of the facility today. There were a lot of really cool features: the rotating art, the industrial loft aesthetic, the location, and the over all vibe was really laid back. Also liked the sense of community that you got from the people there. I also really liked how easy it was to schedule an appointment online, and Brandon was really friendly. We are definitely considering getting memberships. That being said, I feel like some of the conference room space could use a little TLC to make it a tad more polished. What an experience the last few months have been now that I've relocated my business to The Urban Hive. My situation was a bit unique. I had an office in the midst of a traditional company that was renting out some of their space. Boring. Isolating. And, I needed to be around a more vibrant, current thinking, creative group. Enter The Urban Hive. I was able to rent office space that also allowed me the ability to join others in the co-working space. Helping others with their ideas, validating crazy theories and sharing best practices quickly became the norm. Can you beat having all of the art in your building completely change every month? You get attentive hospitality. We finally had a chance to meet up and chat, and I was able to tour the place. The space remains gorgeous, and a very intriguing offering for entrepreneurs looking for a co-working space. They've addressed my greatest concern by making sure the front-desk is regularly manned by a volunteer docent. They've certainly grown very rapidly over the past 12 months, which IMO reflects the broader need for coworking spaces that reflect the right vibe. read more

Artsy atmosphere, great background music and you're are among some of the finest designers, artist and creative professionals around town to move you and inspire you. I was introduced to this remarkable place when I was looking for a local group of TedX devotes and found that they watch and discuss as a group. How cool is that. I was here for an event, but love the idea of the space. Found out you can rent space to have meetings like an office space or have an event. The space is pretty big, There some larger conference rooms after you walk past the front lobby and the desks in the front. Then there a larger open area with seating and more tables and chairs. In the back, there are office space. The person running the place is pretty cool, he was playing music from his phone onto their speaker system. The technology they have in this place is awesome. I'm a "Resident" at the Urban Hive and recommend the space and the people without reservation. The interior space (a large, well-appointed brick building) allows one to focus on work in style and comfort, and the coworker make-up includes visual designers, marketers, social media 'connecters,' and writers. I worked there for one day recently. I had reserved a desk through their online reservation system, but found out they really didn't have the desks setup just yet. The woman who got me settled in was new and a little clueless. And I was disappointed that they didn't open until 9:00 am. I was also surprised that many of the tables in their common area didn't have a nearby power outlet available for laptop users. On the plus side, the people running Urban Hive were very nice. They didn't charge me for my first day there. Summary: Urban Hive is like a late-opening coffee shop that charges for the use of a table & wifi, without food. read more

I checked out the Urban Hive open house recently and I was very impressed with the clean, open layout of the Hive's community workspace as well as its comfortabel, laid back vibe. This promises to be a great addition to the midtown neighborhood, providing workspace and resources to freelance and creative professionals. Although I currently work in San Francisco, I often visit Sacramento for business and personal meetings and TUH provides the WiFi, conference rooms, comfy couch, and organic coffee to meet colleagues and get work done! I work at a job where coworking isn't really possible, but I drop by The Urban Hive as much as I can because the people here are outstanding. They are extremely friendly and productive. The atmosphere is very entrepreneurial and when you arrive there are always smiling faces to greet you. If you aren't familiar with coworking, they will help you feel comfortable and welcome. They open up for 2nd Saturdays and other events during the day and evening, a plus to get to know other business movers and shakers in the area. My favorite event here is the Cereal Creative every other Thursday morning - there are multiple creative discussions while everyone hangs out with a bowl of cereal or cup of coffee. I liken it to Cheers - when you arrive they yell out "Norm!" Kind of a quirky example, but I always like a place where they know my name! ...And serve cereal... This is that place! read more
