First, this is not an all-inclusive venue. Many items are charged separately, including linens, use of the TV, AV equipment, and even certain rooms like the back room. These additional costs can add up quickly, so I recommend asking for a full breakdown of fees in advance. I also want to mention the policy regarding security officers. When I booked, I was told the officer requirement would be at the manager's discretion. I communicated multiple times that my event would end by 6 PM. However, I was still required to pay for an officer through 10 PM, even though the event ended much earlier. While I understand policies are in place, this was unexpected and felt unfair based on prior communication. One policy to be aware of is that open flames are not allowed. I was able to adjust without issue, but it's something to plan for ahead of time. Overall, the space itself is nice, but I strongly recommend getting clear, written confirmation of all fees, policies, and requirements before booking to avoid surprises.

Rehearsal: He made our wedding party and parents "gather together" so he could lecture us on if we bring outside alcohol he would kick us out and he didn't care if it was the best man, father of the bride, or whoever it was. While I completely respect any persons rules regarding their property, I do not appreciate him addressing OUR friends and family like that. He should have spoken to us and we would have spoken to our guests if we felt that would be an issue. This wasn't a prom, it was ok to treat us like children. He was so negative the entire day to our families while they were setting up. My MIL nicknamed him Mr. Happy because he always had a negative response to anything and everything or a angry look on his face. The wedding coordinator he suggests you use... Don't. She kept interfering with pictures and telling people where to go. That's what I paid the photographer for. She is in quite a few pictures that were very important, like me being walked down the aisle. His minister he refers to you is very long winded and wouldn't quit talking during the ceremony. So if you like short and sweet, don't use him. He has very many rules that weren't made apparent during our first visit, had I known... We wouldn't have used K Star. Read before you sign. But that was my mistake.     No refunds issued even if the person dies…read more I booked this venue for my mother's 80th birthday party for 2/2023, unfortunately we lost my mother unexpectedly on 5/1/2022. I reached out to get a full refund...to now use this money towards her headstone... but all I got was a lack of empathy! They are not understanding at all, my heart is broken, my mom is gone and all they care about is a contract. Contracts can be amended....if you choose to do the right thing...as this was out of our control. They chose to stick to their guns and look the other way. I had already paid $921 towards her party....after several weeks I received a partial refund of $361...I really don't understand why a full refund could not have been issued, as they still have 9 months to rent their venue out. This venue is nice.....but I would think twice about renting this place out....because you will not be refunded if one of your loved ones...are to die or have an accident. No empathy, no understanding, and no heart.

I was here for a wedding, as a guest. Despite being an odd location, and a bit of a drive, I liked the adventure aspect. As we pulled up, we could not help but to wonder what is inside this rather non-descript building. Inside we found a large seating area, a stage, a bar, and doors to more rooms. One room was additional seating, that lead to a small outdoor area. This is were the ceremony was, and except from the sound of race car motors (I was told there is a racetrack nearby, in fact there are two - Texas Raceway & Kennedale Speedway Park), it was rather pretty. After the ceremony we returned inside, where I had the chance to wander a bit. I should have taken more pictures. The pinball machines, on the walls was interesting. The Airstream trailer being used as a stage was quite clever. There was another large red truck against one wall. Not sure what it was used for, and I forgot to take a closer look. There was also a pool table, maybe two, which many guests took advantage of. The line at the (cash) bar got quite long at times, and it actually deterred me from getting a drink. I only saw one bartender at the bar, so I stuck to the self-serve iced tea. Being a cash bar (i.e. not open), I would have thought it would have been staffed better. When prompted, we lined up for food, and were served. I thought the servers did a good job and gave off a friendly vibe. I'm assuming the food was catered, in-house, by Red's, and so your experience may differ based on the menu. I thought for what it was, chicken and beef tacos, with beans and rice, it was a little sub-par. Not horrible, just not all that great (for being in Texas). Also, the re-fried beans seem to have been a little scorched, leaving a slightly funky flavor. Apparently, in the past, Red's used to be a full time restaurant and bar. I think they lost their touch, or maybe never had it. I would seriously consider other food options, or perhaps have it catered from outside. It would be worth the extra fee. So, as a funky Texas event space, A-OK. Bottom line: Good choice if you are looking for a road-house feel for your special event.

We had no contact from anyone for months -- since August or September -- and only recently learned from Laura that she is no longer the correct point of contact. No one updated this information or informed us of the change. To make matters worse, my account was accidentally charged $2,413, and instead of receiving an apology or any accountability, I was sent a message explaining their payment policy. Not once did anyone acknowledge the mistake or the inconvenience it caused. The lack of communication and basic customer care is unacceptable. This was supposed to be a memorable and exciting experience for my daughter, but no one has made her feel special or supported throughout this process. It truly feels like the quality of service left when Laura did. At this point, my expectations for how the wedding will turn out in August are extremely low. I would caution anyone considering this venue to think twice before booking.

We ended up arriving early because we weren't sure how traffic would be coming from the north Dallas area during rush hour, so we allowed plenty of travel time. There was plenty of parking (especially arriving early!) and we found the entry signage no problem. I love all the beautiful stone work on the buildings. This venue is gorgeous!! The wedding was held outside and the photographer was taking pictures outside so we hung out in a seating area in the lobby. I noticed a rug in the center area that had two edges sticking up and I saw several people kinda trip over it. I went to tell the bartender and she couldn't care less, after she dramatically removed her ear bud (like I was inconveniencing her). She told me to tell a staff member! I never saw anyone that looked like they worked there. A little while later I noticed two chairs were moved to that corner of the rug and that appeared to resolve any tripping hazard. The rug was well worn and just needs to be replaced, if a rug is even needed at all. The ladies room, with a sitting area, is spacious and beautiful. I did see a pleasant young lady use a blower to clear all the leaves off the area where the guests would be seated. We went outside to find a seat for the wedding. It was nice that the seating area is down from where the ceremony was held at the top of the stairs, so it had a great view. Right as the processional began a freight train had their whistle blowing, so it might be good if future weddings know the train schedule! Things slowed down a little to allow the train to finish and then we enjoyed a beautiful ceremony. The sun was still streaming in through the trees and there was a slight breeze for a beautiful October outdoor wedding. Everyone was invited to hang out inside the lobby area waiting while they took more pictures outside. It was finally time for the doors to the reception area to open up. The reception area was beautiful and later when the dancing began, there were various colored lights that lit up in the overhead mini balcony sections along the ceiling area. Everyone found their table and then when it was time for the food to be served, we were summoned by table and you walk back behind where the bride and groom presided. There was a buffet line set up and you were served what you wanted by staff. The food was all delicious! We enjoyed attending a wedding at Aristide in Mansfield!
